ADOT to clear roadside vegetation on SR 80 east of Bisbee next week
Motorists traveling on State Route 80 east of Bisbee will encounter brief delays next week while crews from the Arizona Department of Transportation remove vegetation alongside the highway.

A moving lane closure will be in effect on SR 80 Monday, Dec. 8 through Thursday, Dec. 11 between the Mule Pass Tunnel and the junction with State Route 90 between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Crews will begin clearing roadside vegetation just east of the Mule Pass Tunnel outside Bisbee (milepost 339) and move eastbound toward the junction with State Route 90 (approximately milepost 333). Traffic will be slowed behind the moving operation. At the junction with SR 90, the crews will reverse direction to clear the westbound shoulder of the highway.

The clearing will be done in two-mile segments and delays of up to 15 minutes can be expected.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule. To stay up-to-date with the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center at www.az511.gov or call 511.
