Brown Canyon Ranch open house planned
The 10th annual Brown Canyon Ranch Open House is 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. May 2 at historic Brown Canyon Ranch. Events include B Troop, 4th Regiment, U.S. Cavalry (Memorial); a nature walk at 9:30 a.m.; ranch house history at 1 p.m.; adobe brick making; quilting; spinning; wood carving; candle-making; and cowboy songs at noon.
For youth there will be plastic calf roping; a treasure hunt; and brand rubbings. 
Admission is free. Lunch will be available for sale. Pets must be on a leash. 

Directions: Take South State Route 92 to Ramsey Canyon Road; go west 2 miles to the BCR trailhead. Shuttle service available.

Book discussion group to meet The next book up for discussion by the Cochise College Literary Guild is “Spirit Walk,” written by Cochise College instructor Jay Treiber. The discussion is Nov. 21, 11 a.m. – noon, in the Horace Steele Room in the Sierra Vista Campus Library Building.
