Mariachi festival takes place Saturday
Enjoy a Mariachi festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Patagonia Lake State Park, 400 Patagonia Lake Rd., Rio Rico.
The entrance station opens at 7 a.m. Cost is $15 per vehicle, up to four adults. Enjoy a variety of Southern Arizona Mariachi bands on stage. The event will feature authentic Mexican food, hot dogs, hamburgers, kettle corn and shaved ice. Visitors may also bring their own picnic basket and there will be a piñata for the children. Bring plenty of water, lawn chairs, sunscreen and hats.

Book discussion group to meet The next book up for discussion by the Cochise College Literary Guild is “Spirit Walk,” written by Cochise College instructor Jay Treiber.
