Road work on State Route 86 near Sells to continue through September

Road work on State Route 86 near Sells to continue through September Motorists traveling on State Route 86 east of Sells will continue to encounter restrictions through late September while the Arizona Department of Transportation continues making improvements on the Tohono O’odham Nation. Road work will be continue between mileposts 115 and 120 Mondays through Thursdays between  5:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.  During lane restrictions, a pilot vehicle will guide motorists through two-mile segments where the two-lane highway is reduced to a single lane for use in both directions. Delays are not expected to exceed 15 minutes. The work is part of a project to widen a segment of SR 86 (Ajo Way) to provide a 12-foot travel lane in each directions, construct eight-foot shoulders, and add turn lanes in selected locations. ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel. ADOT

US 180 narrowed to one lane north of Flagstaff beginning Monday (Aug. 3) Restrictions to  accommod at e main tenance wo rk; heav y  delays  can be  expec ted US 180 will be narrowed to one lane between Flagstaff and Valle (milepost 250 to 265) starting on Monday (Aug. 3) through Thursday (Aug. 6) from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The restriction is required to allow Arizona Department of Transportation crews to perform maintenance work on the roadway. During maintenance operations, heavy delays can be anticipated. A pilot car will allow for alternating travel through the work zone. Please allow for extra time for travel time and exercise caution while moving through the area. Drivers should consider using I-40 and SR 64 as alternate route for travel. SR 77 Construction north of Tucson July 31 – Aug. 9 Motorists traveling on State Route 77 (Oracle Road), north of Oro Valley to Catalina, should be aware of the following traffic restrictions as the Arizona Department of Transportation will be shifting traffic overnight to the southbound side of SR 77 beginning at 11 p.m. Thursday, (Aug. 6),  to 5 a.m. Friday, (Aug. 7). The work is part of a project to widen the roadway between Tangerine Road and the Pinal Co unty l ine. Construction Activities Traffic will be driving on the southbound side of SR 77 beginning Friday morning (Aug. 7) through the end of the year to allow crews to construct the east side of the new wildlife overpass and underpass and widen the northbound side of State Route 77. Blasting closure scheduled on US 60 between Superior and Miami for mid-August Intermittent closures of US 60 will be necessary due to blasting operations The first closure for blasting on the Oak Flat passing lane project on US 60 (milepost 231-233) between Superior and Miami has been scheduled between  Aug. 12 and Aug. 20 . The exact date will be decided late next week when drilling crews have been able to finalize their progress. Blasting will be done during a weekday and will start at  9 a.m.  Motorists traveling on US 60 between Superior and Miami should plan on the highway being closed for up to 90 minutes. There will be a seven-day notice prior to the exact blasting date and that information will be distributed to the media, digital message boards around Superior and Globe/Miami, project web page updates, ADOT social media sites and contact emails. Overnight maintenance work on SR 287 in Casa Grande next week Eastbound SR 287 will be reduced to one lane overnight from Interstate 10 to Mission Parkway (milepost 116) in the City of Casa Grande  on Wednesday  ( Aug. 5 ) and  Thursday  ( Aug. 6 ) from  9 p.m. to 6 a.m.  to allow Arizona Department of Transportation crews to conduct maintenance work.
