Paving on SR 80 near Bisbee to continue through Thursday of this week
Work to stop in observance of Labor Day weekend before resuming Sept. 8

Paving operations will continue on State Route 80 west of Bisbee through Thursday (Sept. 3) before stopping in observance of the Labor Day weekend.
Paving work began in late August on the eastbound lane of SR 80 and will continue through Thursdaybetween 4 a.m. and 7 p.m.
A pilot vehicle will guide motorists in both directions through a 2-mile work zone where the two-lane highway is restricted to one lane. Delays are not expected to exceed 15 minutes.
Paving operations will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 8 and continue on a Monday through Saturday schedule, with potential for some Sunday work, until the paving is complete.
The project is intended to improve a seven-mile segment of SR 80 between the junction with State Route 90 and the entrance to the Mule Pass Tunnel that leads into Bisbee.
ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
