Work on I-19 from Tubac to Palo Parado in Santa Cruz County



Interstate 19 from Palo Parado to Tumacacori (mileposts 16 – 19/ kilometers 25-30) will be narrowed to one lane in both directions beginning Monday (April 4) for paving. The work will occur as follows:



    • Southbound I-19 will be narrowed to one lane Monday (April 4) and Wednesday (April 6).

    • Northbound I-19 will be narrowed to one lane Tuesday (April 5) and Thursday (April 7).

    • The north- and southbound I-19 Tumacacori on- and off-ramps (Exit 29) will be closed Friday (April 8).

      • Drivers may use the Palo Parado Road (Exit 25) or Tubac Road (Exit 34).



The work is part of the I-19: Palo Parado Road to Tubac Road pavement and bridge improvement project. The $4.1 million improvement project is expected to be completed this spring.



ADOT works to inform the public about planned roadway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
