Job Description
Position: Prevention Educator (Full Time Hourly)
Responsibilities: To perform community education in La Piñon’s Children Advocacy Center (LPCAC) and La Pinon Rape Crisis Center, geographical service area. To recruit new audiences for the program, by reaching out to community centers, groups and organizations to arrange La Pinon interaction with them. To encourage all person’s to gain education regarding child abuse and neglect issues. To incorporate the use of educational material in an efficient manner.
Reports to: Prevention Coordinator and Executive Director
Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in human Services or related field of study. Work experience may substitute degree.
Skills and Knowledge:
*Sexual Assault Victim Advocate
*Children’s advocate
*Excellent oral and written communication skills
*Good computer skills
*Ability to work in a team approach service delivery system
*Possesses good public speaking skills. Communicate the agency’s mission and information to the public while maintaining cultural and group diversity as needed.
*Implement programs effective for various diverse backgrounds
*Possess personal self-motivation, and enthusiasm
*Ability to be flexible while working with various audiences
Job Related Duties:
- Implement community education program
- Keep Executive Director and Prevention Coordinator informed of all activities planned through weekly schedule
- Maintain monthly, quarterly and annual reports in required formats. Offer reports as required to the Executive Director, Coordinator and grant agencies.
- Attend Prevention Development as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
