Cochise Healthy Communities Summit SEPT 29 - Did you remember to Register?

Please join us on September 29th to kick off Cochise County’s second Community Health Assessment and the Cochise Healthy Communities Initiative.

Many agencies, organizations, businesses and county residents are already involved.  But we need everyone’s involvement to produce a comprehensive assessment (CHA) and community health improvement plan (CHIP).  The CHA and CHIP will be useful to everyone in assessing needs, providing services and securing funds for health-related services and projects in our county communities. 

Through the Cochise Healthy Communities Initiative we hope to provide support and guidance to the individual, unique communities of Cochise County to mobilize to address the many health-related issues in your local areas.

This all-day event at the Windemere Conference Center in Sierra Vista will have something for everyone.  Including breakfast and lunch at no charge – thanks to the generosity of the Legacy Foundation of Southern Arizona.  We will also feature a special speaker from the Arizona Department of Health Services – Wayne Tormala, Bureau Chief of Tobacco & Chronic Disease.

Book discussion group to meet

Book discussion group to meet The next book up for discussion by the Cochise College Literary Guild is “Spirit Walk,” written by Cochise College instructor Jay Treiber. The discussion is Nov. 21, 11 a.m. – noon, in the Horace Steele Room in the Sierra Vista Campus Library Building.
