Derek Hough's Wedding Wishes for Best Friend Mark Ballas Will Leave Any Dancing With the Stars Fan Impressed. Just give Derek Hough a perfect score already. After Mark Ballas and BC Jean exchanged vows Friday evening near Los Angeles, Dancing With the Stars fans may have thought the celebrations would be over by Sunday. But before the Thanksgiving weekend came to a close, Mark's best man decided to share a few thoughtful words about a bride and groom he has grown to love and admire. "Such an honor to be the best man at my brother's wedding. Witnessing their love be sealed under a beautiful oak tree in front of family friends was such a special moment," Derek wrote to his Instagram followers Sunday afternoon. "Like the tree, may you stand together tall and proud." "May you always go out on a limb for one another to stay grounded and dig your roots in deep so that you may weather any storm," he continued. "And always continue to grow, stronger and higher reaching towards the heavens. And to always enjoy the view. Love you two." Anybody else need a moment? Imagine what the speech was like at the reception. Friday's celebration planned by celebrity events planner David Tutera was a DWTS family affair as familiar faces including Sharna Burgess, Val Chmerkovskiy, Cheryl Burke, Emma Slater and Sasha Farber attended. Guest Julianne Hough also gave fans a glimpse into the couple's bond on and off any stage in a separate Instagram post. "Couldn't be happier for these friends of mine! BC you are truly the most beautiful and hilarious Hippie Queen there ever was," she shared. "Mark, you now get to put your undeniable loyalty, friendship and love into this woman's heart every single day. Your hopeless romantic self-has finally been set free! Best wedding weekend EVER!!!!! Love you both so much!" While fans may be hoping for a honeymoon in the near future, all signs point to Mark returning to New York City as he continues his run as Frankie Valli in Broadway's Jersey Boys. But don't worry, there's plenty of love to go around. "Knowing that I am going to spend the rest of my days with BC gives me more comfort than anything else ever could," Mark recently shared on Instagram. "She is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I can't wait for our life ahead." (Eonline)

Emma Stone Reveals What Has "Lost a Little Luster" Since Filming La La Land. Emma Stone is a talented singer, but don't expect her to sing in front of a live audience anytime soon. The Easy A star, who has performed on Broadway and sings in her upcoming movie musical La La Land, appeared on Good Morning America Monday and revealed that despite her impressive vocals, she won't be hitting the karaoke mic anytime soon. "I weirdly like karaoke so much less now," she joked. "I don't think anybody needs to hear me get up and sing in a karaoke room. It's just that the karaoke experience has lost a little luster after all that." Both Stone and three-time co-star Ryan Gosling endured months and months of rehearsals to nail down their ballroom dancing routines, but after all that work the 28-year-old actress revealed her go-to dance move is a very basic one: jazz hands. "They can be brought in at anytime," she said, laughing. Stone previously opened up to E! News' Marc Malkin about her handsome co-star, joking that La La Land could be the last time fans see them working together onscreen. "He has a restraining order against me now," Stone quipped. "I'm just going to have to stay like a hundred feet at everything else we do together. No, it's so much fun to work with him [but] I don't know if they'll let us do anything." Stone and Gosling also have starred in Gangster Squad and Crazy, Stupid, Love together. The Notebook actor also told E! News he loved working with Stone. "We made two films together and now three, and so you know it's great to work with people you know," he told us. "I think it brings the best out of them because you know one another, and you are able to help each other in a way that you can't if you're strangers." (Eonline)

Wedding bells already? Not just yet for new couple Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, but they did celebrate a friend's nuptials over the holiday weekend in Malibu, where they cozied up for a fun photo booth session. The DNCE singer, 27, and the Game of Thrones beauty, 20, pulled some goofy faces and snuggled together in pictures posted to Instagram on Saturday, November 26. They posed at the back of a group of guests, who included Joe's brother Nick Jonas. The suit-clad siblings also shared a snap of themselves smoking cigars and staring intensely at the camera. "The bros last night at the Mat & Margo wedding," Nick captioned it. The following morning Joe, Sophie and Nick were all still together, and another partygoer from the wedding took a photo of them carrying his daughter. "ZaZa was chilling with Sansa Stark when these Jonas Brothers moved in on her convo," the little girl's dad wrote on Instagram. "But she was like, 'y'all can hang with us.'" The lovebirds were spotted leaving an NYC hotel together just ahead of Thanksgiving, sparking speculation that they would spend the holiday together. Joe revealed his Turkey Day plans on Live with Kelly on Wednesday, November 23. "Tomorrow everybody flies in together," he said. "We're going to pick our parents up and go skiing in Mammoth." The fact Sophie then posted a photo of her and a girlfriend in Mammoth, seems like more than just a coincidence! A photo posted by Sophie Turner (@sophiet) on Nov 25, 2016 at 7:24pm PST The duo was previously spotted getting close at a Kings of Leon concert in Rotterdam, Amsterdam, on November 5. Fellow concertgoer Millie Janssen told Us at the time that they kissed and cuddled throughout the show, which took place ahead of the MTV Europe Music Awards. "Joe and Sophie arrived together before the show started," she told Us. "He had his arm around her as they walked in, and then he was holding her before the show. Joe and Sophie kissed a few times and were talking and drinking soda." (US Weekly)

Letting it spill. Evan Rachel Wood candidly discussed her controversial romance with ex-Marilyn Manson in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. The Westworld actress, 29, met Manson, 47, at a party at West Hollywood's Chateau Marmont in 2006 when she was just 18 years old. Not long after, Wood and the "Beautiful People" singer -- who was married to Dita Von Teese at the time -- began dating. (Manson and Von Teese, now 44, divorced in December 2007.) "I met somebody that promised freedom and expression and no judgments," Wood, who played a Lolita-like character in Manson's racy 2007 music video for "Heart-Shaped Glasses," told Rolling Stone. Despite criticism over their 18-year age difference, Wood personally felt that a relationship with Manson was worth pursuing. "And I was craving danger and excitement," the True Blood alum explained to the magazine. "I looked at my mother one day and said, 'Mom, I'm gonna get on this tour bus for eight months and see the world and have a crazy journey and find myself, and if people aren't OK with that, I'm sorry, but I can't live my life for other people.'" Wood went on to explain that the backlash she received for dating Manson only made her stronger. "Most teenagers are searching for an identity and I was thrown into a situation where I was supposed to have that already figured out," she said. "Then you're demonized for figuring it out and getting messy. People would call me a whore when I walked down the street, and you can't be hurt by that." The pair dated on and off for four years and got engaged in January 2010 after Manson proposed onstage in Paris. Though they eventually split for good in 2011, Wood has no regrets about the time she spent with the rock star. "I wouldn't trade any of [our relationship]," Wood told Net-a-Porter's The Edit in August 2015. "I appreciate everything he taught me. I just don't think we were right for each other." (US Weekly)

Heidi Klum Brushes Off Criticism About Her Younger Boyfriend and Curvy Figure: "It Doesn't Matter What People Say." For Heidi Klum, there's no topic too uncomfortable. From talking to her children about sex to facing critics who called her "too curvy," there seems to be no subject that scares off the 43-year-old supermodel mom. "They know how babies are conceived," the Project Runway host said of her four kids in the December issue of Ocean Drive. "I have never really been a huge fan of beating around the bush. I'm quite direct. I guess that's how people know me on television: I don't mince my words." Having spent most of her adult life in an industry notorious for not mincing words, the iconic model can still recall the early flack she received for her signature hourglass figure. "That I'm too curvy. Too feminine. I got that a lot," she said of her biggest criticism. "That I should be skinnier. And that I'm not edgy enough and a little too happy half of the time. Everyone was always telling me maybe I should skip a meal or I should go on these [diet] pills." Fortunately, Klum let the words roll off her back as she climbed the ladder to success. "I just always stuck to my guns and thought either they want me the way I am or this is not the right job for me," she told the magazine. Still, the ability to juggle the fame with the flack was not born overnight. "When you're a normal girl from a small town and no one really takes note of you, and then all of a sudden you're walking down a catwalk in your lingerie and on the cover of Sports Illustrated and all these people are turning their heads when you go into a restaurant and pointing their finger at you saying, 'She's not as pretty in person as she is in photos,' you get a little insecure," the German native told the magazine. "You always get judged, so you have to learn how to handle that." Klum may have been a modeling newcomer at the time, but she was also comfortable in her own skin thanks to her European upbringing. "I grew up going to nude beaches with my parents, so I'm a nudist. I have no problems with nudity at all. I'm very free," she said. "When I go to the beach, it's in a very remote place where there are not a lot of people, and I like to go topless." However, the intimates designer acknowledges that everyone has their own level of inhibition -- and it's all acceptable. "Everyone should do what they want to do, [even if it's] thigh-high stockings and a garter belt that shows a little bit when you sit at the dinner table. I don't think that's vulgar," Klum said. "I feel comfortable and don't care if someone sees my nipples necessarily -- it's okay to see the nipple! But not everyone feels comfortable with that." As the television host made clear during her interview, she is going to live her life regardless of what anyone else says. This philosophy trickles down from her bras to her love life. Currently, she's dating contemporary art dealer Vito Schnabel, who is 13 years younger than his leading lady. However, as Klum so appropriately responds to her naysayers, "it's not about age." "We have an amazing connection, we have fun together, and we love each other," she said. "It doesn't matter what people say. As long as you know when you close your door in your own home, you have an amazing time together. That's really all that matters." (Eonline)

Leah Remini Speaks Out Against Scientology, Says She Wants to Help Those Who "Don't Have a Voice." Leah Remini appeared on the Today show Monday to speak out against Scientology ahead of her A&E documentary Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath. Remini, who detailed her experience with the Church of Scientology in her book Troublemaker, further explained why she decided to come forward with her revelations, telling Today's Savannah Guthrie that she's only in it to help people. "I was watching what was happening to former members and former high-ranking clergy of the Church, and I was watching what it was doing in response, and I felt I had a responsibility to help out where I could," she explained. "I'm not a big fan of bullies, so it is part of who I am. I was a fighter in the Church. This is what they taught me, so I'm going to continue my fight, but I'm on the right side of that fight now. I just want to send the message that I'm not going to sit back and allow it to go on." Specifically, Remini said she wasn't OK with the church "victimizing victims." The Church of Scientology has repeatedly denied all of Remini's allegations. In response to Remini's Today interview, the Church issued a statement denying all of her allegations. With such a high-profile career, Remini said she feels like she has the power to send a message to those who might not be in the position to walk away or speak out like she has. "It's for the victims," she shared. "It's for the people who have spoken out, but it's also for people who just maybe don't have the strength to fight, feel they don't have a voice...I just want to give people strength and not just with this organization but with any bully. I just hope that that's what the message is." The biggest difference between the Church of Scientology and any other church, Remini claimed, is how Scientology treats its dissenters. "Well, it's difficult to leave. But again, I am on TV because I was an actress and I have a lot of support," she continued. "So for me, it pales in comparison to what former high-ranking executives had to deal with and what parishioners had to deal with, just average, everyday Scientologists who dedicated their lives, money and families to this. Now they're suffering for speaking out." Guthrie mentioned how in other religious organizations people are free to come and go as they please, to which Remini claimed that's exactly what makes Scientology different. "If you speak out, you're labeled an enemy to the Church and the Church has policies on how to deal with its enemies," she explained, "and they go after them. It's in their own policies. So they don't know any different, as I did when I was if the Church. So I understand this. I have compassion for it. Because you do become a person who's very hateful and you're very judgmental towards anyone who isn't a Scientologist." She added, "And a critic of Scientology is dealt with in a very specific way. And that is unlike a real church." Guthrie noted that the Church says it does not disconnect families or encourage people to separate from their friends and family. Remini, however, claimed the Church is "sly" in its efforts to separate its members from people outside of the organization. "They are sly in that they are right about there is no 'policy' of disconnection as it's categorized in the press. Because if you're not in it your whole life you don't actually know the inner workings of their policies. And their policy is very specific about how you deal with someone who has spoken out about the Church of Scientology, and there is no option but to disconnect or you will get kicked out of the church," the King of Queens alum said. "Now for members who were in it their whole lives, this is an everyday proposition. This is a quarter of a million dollar proposition for just average parishioners. The dedication it takes to be a Scientologist is a lot. "And it's not easy to just walk away. Because most people say, why not just get up and leave? Well, you're leaving everything you've ever known. You're giving up your whole life because that is what it takes to be a Scientologist. Then you're going to be losing your family because most of your family and friends are Scientologists." When the trailer for Remini's docu-series first aired, a spokesperson for the Church issued a statement to E! News: "Desperate for attention with an acting career stuck in a nearly decade-long tailspin, Leah Remini needs to move on with her life. Instead, she seeks publicity by maliciously spreading lies about the Church using the same handful of bitter zealots who were kicked out years ago for chronic dishonesty and corruption and whose false claims the Church refuted years ago, including through judicial decisions." The spokesperson encouraged people to learn more about Scientology by visiting its website. Now that Remini has embarked on this journey, she admitted she often has doubts. "Every day I'm like I don't know if I want to do this. It's not an easy thing to do, but I think it is the right thing to do," she said. "And I'm not talking about myself. I'm talking about its victims and I feel it is important message and I feel this is the path that I'm supposed to be on at this point in my life." (Eonline)

Rose McGowan has allegedly become the latest victim of a sex-tape leak. Screenshots that seem to have been taken from two videos have been making the rounds online since Thursday. The identity of the man who appears in some of the shots is not clear. The actress's divorce from Davey Detail was finalized this month. Jennifer Lawrence, Leslie Jones and Vanessa Hudgens, among others, have all allegedly had private racy pictures distributed online. A rep for McGowan didn't get back to us. (Page Six)

Kanye West "was having nightmares" about his wife Kim Kardashian's terrifying Paris robbery in the weeks before he was hospitalized for exhaustion, a source close to the rapper exclusively tells Us Weekly. "He's been shaken up ever since the robbery in Paris. It did a number on him as much as Kim," the insider tells Us. "The mere thought that anything could happen to her sent him in a tailspin. He wasn't sleeping and he was having nightmares about it." As previously reported, West, 39, was admitted to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center on November 21 after an incident at his personal trainer's home in Los Angeles. TMZ reported that West was behaving "erratically" and was "handcuffed to a gurney during the transport to the hospital." The news of the health scare came hours after West canceled the remainder of his U.S. tour, which Kardashian, 36, often attended before (and occasionally after) the robbery. "He really couldn't do his shows without her around," the source explains. "That's what made him worse. He didn't want to be away from her ... [The robbery] was just as hard for him, but he tried to keep going. He would never have canceled the tour unless things were bad." The "Fade" rapper is putting everything on hold and focusing on moving past his wife's October 3 raid, in which she was robbed of more than $10 million in jewelry while tied up and held at gunpoint inside her private residence in Paris. "The robbery triggered everything," the source says. "Kim is his family and the only family he really has now. They took him in and embraced him. So seeing Kim traumatized did a major number on him." An insider previously told Us that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has been nursing her husband of two years back to health, sleeping by his side at the hospital and helping to feed him. "Kim has been amazing," the source said. "She knew he couldn't keep going the way he was. She has been by his side through all of this." (US Weekly)

Rocco Ritchie Takes A Dig At Madonna In A Since-Deleted Instagram Post Following His Arrest. We guess Rocco Ritchie still has bad blood with his famous momma. As you surely know, Madonna's son with Guy Ritchie got into some trouble with the law when he was arrested for marijuana possession back in September right after his parents' highly-publicized custody battle. Madge later responded to the drama by saying: "I love my son very much. I will do whatever I can to give him the support that he needs, and I ask that you respect our privacy at this time." In a recent Instagram post that has since been deleted, Madge participated in the viral Mannequin Challenge alongside her other children David, 11, and Mercy, 10. The 16-year-old took a dig at his famous family by commenting on the video: "So glad I don't live there anymore." Eep. When fans asked why Rocco was being so snide, he replied with multiple laughing emojis before deleting the comments altogether. Interesting. (Perez Hilton)

"How To Get Away With Murder" star Charlie Weber just dodged a bullet ... his divorce is final, and he won't have to pay his ex-wife a lack of spousal support. The divorce, which Charlie filed, is now final ... a process that took 9 months which is exactly the length of their marriage. As we previously reported, there was a prenup so there were no issues in the money department. Giselle won't be getting spousal support, but frankly, even if there wasn't a prenup, the marriage was so short she wouldn't have gotten it under any circumstances. There are no kids either, so it was easy weezy. (TMZ)

Makeup Artist Threatens Kylie Jenner With Legal Action For Ripping Off Her Pouty Pics! It's a good thing Kylie Jenner has a lot of money! As we previously reported, the Kylie Cosmetics maven has been called out by Los Angeles-based makeup artist Vlada Haggerty for blatantly ripping off her pictures! Well now it sounds like Vlada and her professional photog Julia Kuzmenko McKim are thinking of taking the 19-year-old to court, according to TMZ. The pair are threatening to sue after the reality TV starlet rolled out her new holiday makeup campaign, featuring an image with an insane resemblance to theirs! And as we previously posted, Kylie was also accused of using one of Vlada's own images on the Kylie Cosmetics Instagram without any credit. The pic was later updated with her IG handle before being completely deleted. While it's impossible to deny the shots are similar, it's hard to say if the makeup artist will have a case in court as TMZ claims ideas aren't legally protected. (Perez Hilton)

THE OTHER STUFF . . .

Prince Harry Gets Declaration of Love While Prince William Comments on His Meghan Markle Statement. Not that Meghan Markle isn't aware of this, but her boyfriend Prince Harry has got quite the female fan base. And it spans all over the world, including in Vermont Village in Saint Vincent. The 32-year-old royal stopped by the area Saturday during his two-week-long Caribbean tour and came face-to-face with one of his admirers, 54-year-old Avis Collis, while greeting a crowd. "Love you!" she said, smiling and holding his hand, to which he responded, "Love you!" A video of the sweet exchange was posted by the U.K. newspaper The Mirror, which also reported Collis asked one of the outlet's reporters to give her phone number to Harry. Kensington Palace had confirmed Harry's relationship with Markle in a statement on Nov. 8 while condemning those who have abused and harassed the actress on social media. His brother Prince William meanwhile set the record straight over a recent rumor that said he was unhappy with Harry's decision to go public about dating Markle. "The Duke of Cambridge absolutely understands the situation concerning privacy and supports the need for Prince Harry to support those closest to him," Kensington Palace said in a statement to E! News. The Telegraph also quoted a source as saying, "They don't issue statements like that without talking to each other, and they talked about the Meghan Markle statement extensively in advance of it being put out." "The Duke was as alarmed as anyone about what was happening with Meghan," the source added. "No-one wanted to have to put that statement out, including Prince Harry, and there was concern about confirming the relationship. But over the course of one weekend things escalated to the extent that Prince Harry felt he had to act." Markle has not commented on her relationship with Harry. She recently returned from Canada, where she finished filming season six of her show Suits, and celebrated Thanksgiving with her parents. "There's no place like home," the Los Angeles actress wrote on Instagram Sunday, alongside a photo of palm trees. (Eonline)

The Angels are sticking together! Less than two months after she fled Paris following Kim Kardashian West's terrifying robbery at gunpoint, Kendall Jenner is back in the City of Lights for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show -- and she's brought some friends. The 21-year-old reality star stuck close to pal -- and first-time Victoria's Secret model -- Bella Hadid as they touched down in Paris in a private jet from New York City. The duo were inseparable as they joined a slew of beauties, all clad in matching light pink shirts with the words "Victoria's Secret Paris 2016," to pose for photos celebrating their trip to France-complete with French flags and props in the shape of the Eiffel Tower. "Buddy system," Hadid, 20, captioned a photo with Jenner and Lily Donaldson. The trio were joined by Joan Smalls in a picture shared by Jenner. "We're off!" she captioned the snap. When the duo landed, they continued to remain close. Both had tied their hair up and covered themselves in a jacket for their arrival. Jenner also saw the perfect opportunity to practice her walk on the "runway," only for Hadid to playfully push her. "I haven't even had a chance to take my pro-camera out of its case but the games begin anyway!" photographer Russell James captioned the video. The morning after Kardashian West's robbery in early October, Jenner boarded a private plane and left Paris. During Paris Fashion Week, Jenner walked for Givenchy and was rumored to be appearing on the Chanel runway, but she left the city before the show. (People)

Ed Sheeran was apparently rushed to hospital over the weekend after Princess Beatrice sliced his face with a sword. Now there's a sentence we never thought we'd see ourselves writing this Monday morning. The strange series of events began at a dinner held by Princess Beatrice where she was joined by guests including Sheeran and singer James Blunt. As a party prank, Beatrice decided to stage a mock knighting on James Blunt with a ceremonial sword from the house. A source told The Sun: "James played along with the prank and got down on one knee as he would if he were at Buckingham Palace being honored by The Queen. "Beatrice, who was in great form, held the sword above him and said 'arise Sir James', just like her nan would at the Palace. "But she must have misjudged the weight or something and, instead of lightly tapping him on the shoulder, she swung it back, not knowing Ed was standing right behind her." Ed was then rushed to hospital, but in true Ed style, he didn't really make a fuss... "The blade cut into his face and it was just a few inches from his right eye. A couple of the guests said it could have been worse and he could have been blinded in the eye but Ed really played it down," the source said. Note to self: don't invite Princess Beatrice to your dinner party. (British Glamour)

Ice-T and Coco's Hearts Are "Hurting Tremendously" as They Mourn the Death of Their Bulldog Spartacus. Ice-T and Coco are mourning the loss of a very special pet. On Sunday evening, Ice-T revealed to his Twitter followers that one of his bulldogs passed away earlier in the day. "Terrible News: This morning I lost my Best Friend," he wrote online. "Spartacus died from a complication after surgery... He had cancer in his knee... So sad." Coco added, "My heart is hurting tremendously today. Sparty died after knee surgery complications. He was my 1st baby with Ice. There'll never be another." Just a few days ago, the famous dog was celebrating Thanksgiving with Ice-T and fellow bulldog Maximus. And yes, their owners documented the fun on a Facebook page dedicated to the pets. "Happy Thanks Thanksgiving!" the post stated. "Watching the football game with Dad." As many fans know, Spartacus lived quite a special life with his loving owners. Whether walking red carpets or attending night clubs, the bulldog never strayed too far away from Ice-T and Coco. Dwight Howard doesn't like being called a bitch -- and was physically restrained when he got into it with a Lakers fans after the game Sunday night. TMZ Sports has footage in which you can hear a man shouting obscenities at Howard after the Lakers beat the Hawks 109-94 at Staples Center. At one point the man -- who we're told appeared to be in his 20s -- says, "You're a bitch!" Dwight -- who was on the way to the locker room -- stopped in his tracks and jawed back at the heckler, "Come back here and say it." A team official grabs Howard and starts physically pushing the 6'11" superstar back toward the tunnel ... as he continues to challenge the fan. It's not the first time Howard's been heckled at Staples -- the former Laker was taunted last year with a "Kobe" chant during a playoff game against the Clippers. He wasn't happy then either. (TMZ)

The talk at Donald Trump's Thanksgiving dinner at his Florida club was all about if he should pick Mitt Romney or Rudy Giuliani for secretary of state. The president-elect held court on Thursday at his Palm Beach, Fla., Mar-a-Lago club at a large table with family members including wife Melania and sons Eric and Barron. One witness told us Trump took a prime table next to the fireplace in the club's living room, but spent a lot of time greeting members and asking who they think should be his top diplomat. The spy said, "Donald was walking around asking everybody he could about who should be his secretary of state. There was a lot of criticism about Romney, and a lot of people like Rudy. There are also many people advocating for [former US ambassador to the UN] John Bolton." On Friday it was reported that Trump wants Romney to publicly apologize for criticizing him during the campaign in order to be considered for secretary of state. Guests joining Trump for Thanksgiving at Mar-a-Lago included Christopher Nixon Cox, the grandson of Richard Nixon, who we are told is being lined up to be Trump's ambassador to China. Also there was Marvel Entertainment CEO Ike Perlmutter, CEO of Newsmax Media Christopher Ruddy, boxing promoter Don King, interior designer William Eubanks and political consultant Mary Ourisman. Attracting almost as much attention as the president-elect was chiseled romance-novel hunk Fabio, who was seated at a table near Trump, and "was asked for pictures nearly as often as Trump himself." Meanwhile, security was intense. The witness told us that Ocean Boulevard outside Mar-a-Lago was sealed off, and all vehicles were diverted to a nearby parking lot to be fully searched and checked by sniffer dogs. Entering the club, all members had to pass through airport-style metal detectors and have their bags searched. Once inside, "Secret Service agents were swarming everywhere. But Trump seemed relaxed, like he was in his own living room and surrounded by family." (Page Six)

Music

Legendary Twisted Sister rocker Dee Snider shot the video for his song "So What" on the site of Standing Rock, where thousands are protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline. His crew was caught among the unarmed Native American tribes as they were fired upon with rubber bullets and tear gas, had "flash-bang" grenades thrown at them and were hosed down by water cannons in subfreezing temperatures. We're told his filmmakers continued to shoot (even after being tear-gassed and their director of photography, Alexander Chinnici, targeted and shot with a rubber bullet), capturing the event for what director (and Dee's son) Cody Blue Snider is calling "the first ever documentary rock video." While Dee and his film crew escaped relatively unscathed, hundreds were injured with cases of broken bones, hypothermia or cardiac arrest, and one woman lost an arm from an exploding flash-bang grenade. Snider said, "To see US government state and local authorities, along with hired private security, use this type of extreme violent force against unarmed American citizens in peaceful prayer is the saddest, most disturbing thing I have ever experienced. I'm glad we were there to capture the truth for all to see." Snider's documentary rock video featuring the Standing Rock footage will be released later this year. (Page Six)

Niall Horan Gives One Direction Update: 'We Will Be Back'. Talk about something to be thankful for! Directioners got the ultimate early holiday treat over the weekend when Niall Horan told a British outlet that the on-hiatus group will "definitely" reform, at some point. Speaking to Sunday People, Horan reportedly said of One Direction, "we will be back. We would be silly not to... ridiculous." There is, of course, no timetable for that return. Grabbed on a red carpet at a Los Angeles event recently, Horan said the guys were "enjoying" their time off. "At the moment we are all doing our own thing," he said. "Harry wanted to do his movie and everyone is just chilling... I don't think anyone needs to worry about us we are fine." A spokesperson for Horan could not be reached at press time to shed further light on the comments. The "extended hiatus" announced earlier this year has no definitive end point, but in the meantime each member is keeping busy, with Horan recently releasing his debut solo single, "This Town." Harry Styles signed a recording contract with Columbia Records and has a role in the upcoming Christopher Nolan war film Dunkirk, Liam Payne signed with Capitol Records and has seemingly been spending a lot of time in the studio while Louis Tomlinson seems to be just chilling out and focusing on his baby boy, Freddie Tomlinson. New Kids On The Block is getting a little long in the tooth, judging from its fans, because one of them says she fell during a concert and broke her hip. The lady says she was swaying to the music at Philly's Wells Fargo Center last year when she slipped on liquid and landed on her butt, fracturing her left hip. She says the injuries were debilitating. New Kids are not being sued ... just the venue, for not mopping up the liquid. As for her damages ... she says they're severe -- physical and psychological pain, loss of life's pleasures, etc. (TMZ)

Pitbull is now at the center of lawsuit in which a jury may literally have to play, "Name that Tune." William Underwood is part owner of a legendary funk track, "Weak at the Knees." Underwood insists Pitbull sampled 'Weak' for his megahit "Timber." The core of the lawsuit is the guitar riff. Take a listen and judge for yourself. Pitbull's not being sued ... just his publishing company. (TMZ)

Movies

Isabelle Huppert, star of the new film "Elle," is French. Speaks avec une accent français. Lives in France. Makes films in French. Arrived here dressed European chic in a great jacket. "I bought it in Paris," she said. "It's J.Crew." About that rape in this film she said: "A hard scene to do. At one point the work becomes technical. Lighting. Moves. Positions. Attitude. It's tough. You must do these actions with someone you trust." "Acting can be like life. So many angles. My character is involved with so much emotion and then yet still another emotion. You don't just choose one emotion. Yes, you will be the one delivering the chemistry, but it's different every frame, every second. You do one little touch by another little touch. And she, my character, is always responsible for those changes. Fortunately, I had a great director whom I could trust." "'Elle' is in French, taken from a French book. Although I do more French-speaking films, sometimes you can feel a bit freer in a foreign language. Seeing the finished film, I thought it was great. Acting is all pretending and it's what I know to do. But seeing this movie was for me the hardest part. Almost harder for me to watch than to do." About her handsome college-age son sitting alongside: "He goes to school here. We both love New York. I love being in New York." A sip of Plaza Athenee tea, a bite of afternoon cheese, and then, so what will Isabelle from Paris do while she's here? "Shop." (Page Six)

MGM Sues 'Buckaroo Banzai' Writer and Director Over Right to Make New TV Series. Earl Mac Rauch and Walter Richter proclaim they own rights -- and have been telling others including Amazon Studios and Kevin Smith's agents at WME. More than three decades after the cult science fiction classic, The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension, was released in theaters, MGM wishes to produce a new television series of the characters with Kevin Smith at the helm and in conjunction with Amazon Studios. But first, MGM is taking a trip to the courtroom to sort out rights. On Wednesday evening, in the pre-holiday hours when companies often attempt to bury bad news, MGM filed a complaint in California federal court against Earl Mac Rauch, who wrote the 1984 film about a neurosurgeon/ rock star who saves Earth from malevolent aliens, and Walter Richter, who directed the picture that stars Peter Weller, John Lithgow, Jeff Goldblum and Christopher Lloyd. Rauch and Richter "have now asserted in multiple letters to Plaintiffs that they, not Plaintiffs, supposedly own the exclusive right to produce and distribute a Buckaroo Banzai television series," states MGM's lawsuit. "There is now a substantial controversy between the parties with great immediacy. MGM seeks to develop its new television series without Defendants' interference. Accordingly, Plaintiffs bring this action to seek a declaration of the rights and legal relations of the parties with regard to Buckaroo Banzai."

Annie Awards: 'Zootopia,' 'Kubo and the Two Strings' Lead Noms as Indies Prove Strong Competitors. In the feature directing category, 'Zootopia' and 'Kubo' are nominated alongside 'My Life as a Zucchini,' 'The Red Turtle' and 'Your Name.' Walt Disney Feature Animation's Zootopia leads the feature nominees for the 44th annual Annie Awards with 11 nominations, followed by Laika's Kubo and the Two Strings with 10 noms. But the full list of nominations for the International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood's annual awards competition also underscored the strength of several indie films in this year's awards race. In the category for best-animated feature, Zootopia and Kubo are nominated alongside Pixar's Finding Dory, DreamWorks Animation's Kung Fu Panda 3 and Disney's Moana. Nominees in the separate best animated independent feature category My Life as a Zucchini (also the Swiss foreign-language Oscar entry) and Miss Hokusai, both released by GKIDS, as well as Long Way North, The Red Turtle and Your Name. The strength of the indies is evident in other categories including the combined feature directing category, where Zootopia directors Byron Howard and Rich Moore and Kubohelmer Travis Knight are nominated alongside three indie directors: My Life as a Zucchini's Claude Barras, The Red Turtle's Michael Dudok de Wit and Your Name's Makoto Shinkai. Following Zootopia and Kubo in the feature categories are Moana, which earned a total of six nominations; The Red Turtle, which collected five; Kung Fu Panda 3 and Trolls, which grabbed four apiece, and Finding Dory and My Life as a Zucchini, which took three apiece. Also to watch with awards season underway, nominees in the best animated short subject category are National Film Board of Canada's Blind Vaysha, Google Spotlight Stories/Evil Eye Pictures' Pearl and Pixar's Piper -- all of which made the Oscar shortlist in the animated shorts competition -- as well as Deer Flower and Path Title Sequence. Pearl earned an additional three nominations, including best directing in an animated TV/broadcast production for director Patrick Osborne, who previously won an Oscar for his 2014 animated short Feast. The Annie Awards will be presented Feb. 4 at UCLA's Royce Hall. (Hollywood Reporter)

Did You Spot This Gilmore Girls: A Year a in the Life Actress Doing a Secret Dual Role? Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life was filled with cameos from Sutton Foster to Mae Whitman and everyone in between -- but there was one cameo you probably missed: Rose Abdoo. Yes, she was back as Stars Hollow mechanic Gypsy, but the actress pulled double duty in the Gilmore Girls revival by playing Emily's (Kelly Bishop) maid, Berta. "Rose read it for fun in a table read because they hadn't cast it yet," series star Lauren Graham confirmed on Twitter, "and she was so hilarious they had to double her up!" TVLine first pointed out Abdoo's dual roles. Abdoo's Berta is the first maid to stick it out with Emily Gilmore... pretty much ever. She was with her through the whole year and Emily eventually welcomed Berta's entire family into both her homes in Hartford and Nantucket. Emily even cared for her. Abdoo's other TV credits include The Comeback, Parenthood, Veep, Scandal and Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino's Bunheads. Over Gilmore Girls' original run Abdoo appeared in 23 episodes as Gypsy. Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life brought back all your favorite faces including Graham, Bishop, Alexis Bledel, Jared Padalecki, Matt Czcuchry, Milo Ventimiglia, Scott Patterson, Keiko Agena, Melissa McCarthy, Yanic Truesdale, Liza Weil, Danny Strong and many more. Newcomers besides Foster and Whitman included Christian Borle, Alex Kingston, Jason Ritter and Peter Krause. All four episodes of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life are now streaming on Netflix. Was Anyone Really Asking for a Tara-Centric Episode of The Walking Dead? To say that The Walking Dead has a bloated, overflowing, unwieldy cast is barely an exaggeration. There are, simply put, far too many characters on this show and the creative minds behind the scenes have never fully worked out how to service them all equally and properly. Case in point: Sunday night's episode was dedicated entirely to the whereabouts of Tara (Alanna Masterson), of all characters. The show has become increasingly fond of giving whole episodes over to just a one or a small handful of characters, ignoring the rest of the vast world it's begun creating. Sometimes it works out well (say, whenever it's a Carol-centric hour), but more often than not, it can feel like the show is simply spinning its interminably dull wheels until the next big death comes around. Rather than it feeling like The Walking Dead is telling one propulsive story, each season is beginning to feel more and more like little hour-long character studies strung together between their epic premieres and finales. But is this really how we want TV shows to work? While the second episode of this season introduced us to a fascinating new realm of this post-apocalyptic world run by a dude with a freaking tiger, the show has yet to return to it, and with each week that passes, the chances that we won't even care about King Ezekiel and Shiva by the time the show does deign to check in with them next grow increasingly. This wasn't a bad hour of television, and Masterson handled the lion's share of work as ably as she could, but the character is so slight, so overwhelmingly inconsequential to the totality of the series, that giving her an entire episode -- especially one that ran 11 minutes late -- feels foolhardy. Did what we learn warrant the full hour-plus? Nope. While the knowledge that there's an all-female settlement out there somewhere (Negan killed all their men and boys over 10 because of course he did) with a cache of weapons that Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the gang would love to get their hands on -- and the fact that Tara's willing to keep it under wraps for the time being -- is clearly part of a bigger plan, could we have learned about it while advancing some of the other storylines at the same time? Definitely. Smart of the show, though, to keep the possibility that Heath (Corey Hawkins) is alive, despite losing his glasses, and could pop back up should Hawkins' next gig headlining Fox's 24: Legacy not work out. Are we making much ado about nothing or was this one of TWD's most boring episodes yet? The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC. (Eonline)

CNN to Acquire Video Sharing App Maker Beme. "Truth matters," says one of Matt Hackett who co-founded it with YouTube stas Casey Neistat. "Hearing voices and seeing perspectives far from your own matters." Time Warner's CNN said Monday that it has agreed to acquire the staff and technology behind social media app Beme, created by YouTube star Casey Neistat and Matt Hackett. Financial terms weren't disclosed. The company said its 12 employees will join CNN. Beme was created to offer a social application that allows millennials and others to share short videos without the ability to edit content. "CNN changed the world at the end of the 20th century, using the then-emerging technologies of cable television and satellite video feeds to add depth, breadth, and speed to our understanding of it," Hackett, a former Tumblr executive, wrote in a blog post. "In starting Beme, Casey and my goals were just as lofty: to reshape social media into the vehicle for candid, unfiltered perspectives that we always felt it should be. We wanted to create more empathy in the world by making the perspective of each of its inhabitants immediately and compellingly accessible through video." He added: "Social media is supposed to connect across geographies and beliefs, to be the tool for building a less cruel and more creative world. It is this idealism for what technology can achieve that built Beme. Recent days have made it crushingly obvious that the social media we have built so far ? -- ? at Beme or elsewhere? -- ? has not yet achieved this ideal ... Truth matters. Hearing voices and seeing perspectives far from your own matters. These principles, on which Beme was built, will form the core of our mission as a part of CNN." Hackett wrote that Beme would be shutting down on Jan. 31 to become part of the Time Warner news network powerhouse. "By joining forces with CNN, we're able to give our mission more than just one, startup-budgeted shot," Hackett said. "We are going to hunker down and create something new. To do that with the full focus it deserves, we have to say goodbye to Beme." (Hollywood Reporter)
