Southbound State Route 89 closed Tuesday, Nov. 29, for special event near Yarnell


Southbound State Route 89 near Yarnell Hill will be closed from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, for a special event. North and southbound traffic between Yarnell and Congress will be shifted onto the northbound lanes. Although minimal delays are anticipated, motorists should allow extra travel time to reach destinations in the area.

The closure is necessary to accommodate guests invited to a private dedication ceremony at the newly constructed Granite Mountain Hotshot Memorial State Park.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but it’s possible that unscheduled closures or restrictions might occur because of weather or other factors.
