Plan for three-week restriction on US 191 south of Utah border beginning Monday, Feb. 27

If you’re driving on US 191 in the northern part of Arizona near Canyon De Chelly, plan for delays between milepost 507 and 508 for the next three weeks.

A 24-hour-per-day, one-lane hard closure will be in place from 6 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, through 5 p.m. Monday, March 20, as crews complete a maintenance project. The roadway will be narrowed to one lane only. Pilot cars and temporary traffic signals will facilitate alternating travel through the work zone. Drivers should slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions and closures, but it’s possible that unscheduled impacts might occur because of weather or other factors. For the most current information about highway conditions statewide, visit ADOT’s Traveler Information Site at www.az511.gov, follow ADOT on Twitter (@ArizonaDOT) or call 511,except while driving.
