Sunday’s Lost Dutchman Marathon to close part of SR 88, create restrictions on westbound US 60

Consider alternate routes through Gold Canyon and Apache Junction areas
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers who travel on US 60 and on State Route 88 in the Gold Canyon and Apache Junction areas to use alternate routes or allow extra travel time on Sunday, Feb. 19, while the Lost Dutchman Marathon is underway.
Westbound US 60 will be narrowed to one lane as part of the marathon route in areas between Peralta to Mountain View roads. The intersection of SR 88 and Lost Dutchman Boulevard will be closed. Traffic control markers and law enforcement officers will be in the area from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Drivers also should expect heavy traffic in the area this weekend, including the Presidents Day holiday on Monday, due to the annual Renaissance Festival.

Drivers are advised to plan ahead to determine a best alternate route to their destination.
