Crews continue work to install traffic-flow sensors

Overnight improvement work will close sections of westbound US 60 (Superstition Freeway) in the East Valley this week (March 7 – 10). The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes while the following freeway closures are in place:

• Westbound US 60 closed at Mesa Drive from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, for traffic-flow sensor installation. Westbound US 60 on-ramps at Gilbert Road and Stapley Drive also closed. DETOUR: Traffic will detour along the off- and on-ramps at Mesa Drive.

• Westbound US 60 closed at Country Club Drive from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday, March 9, for traffic-flow sensor installation. Westbound US 60 on-ramps at Stapley and Mesa drives also closed. DETOUR: Traffic will detour along the off- and on-ramps at Country Club Drive.

• Westbound US 60 closed at Alma School Road from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, March 10, for traffic-flow sensor installation. Westbound US 60 on-ramps at Mesa and Country Club drives also closed. DETOUR: Traffic will detour along the off- and on-ramps at Alma School Road.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
