Allow extra time on Highway 95 near Fortuna Wash bridge project Thursday (April 13)

The Arizona Department of Transportation has good news for drivers who use Highway 95 between Fortuna and Aberdeen roads: After crews stripe the new roadway this Thursday, the project will be complete. ADOT advises drivers to plan extra travel time for one more project-related restriction:

Highway 95 will be narrowed to one lane only from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, April 13, and the speed limit in the work zone will be reduced to 25 mph.
Drivers should allow extra travel time and plan for possible delays as flaggers stop motorists and alternate vehicles through the open travel lane.

ADOT is working to minimize project-related delays by scheduling the restriction around the morning and evening rush hours.

The $15 million project included constructing a new bridge over the Fortuna Wash to provide flood mitigation and making other roadway and drainage improvements to allow for better control of flood waters and storm water mitigation.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions and closures, but it’s possible that unscheduled impacts might occur because of weather or other factors. For the most current information about highway conditions statewide, visit ADOT’s Traveler Information Site at www.az511.gov, follow ADOT on Twitter (@ArizonaDOT) or call 511,except while driving.
