Ramps at westbound Interstate 8 and Giss Parkway are closed until summer

A reminder for drivers in Yuma: The westbound off- and on- ramps at the Interstate 8 and Giss Parkway traffic interchange are closed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through mid-June. Crews are constructing a two-lane modern roundabout at the intersection to improve safety and traffic flow.

Drivers must use an alternate route, such as 16th Street. The Arizona Department of Transportation is maintaining two-way traffic on Giss Parkway, as well as access to businesses in the work zone.

The $1.8 million, seven-month project also includes improving drainage, intersection lighting, signage and lane striping, and making cyclist accommodations. Learn more at azdot.gov/I8GissTI.
