Stretches of I-17 closed and restricted overnight this week (April 4-7 ) Improvement work continues in Phoenix

Overnight freeway improvement work will close or restrict stretches of Interstate 17 in Phoenix this week from Tuesday, April 4, to Friday, April 7. The Arizona Department of Transportation says drivers should allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes while the following freeway restrictions are in place:
The southbound on-ramps to I-17 at Yorkshire and Union Hills drives and the off-ramp at Bell Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, for streetlight maintenance. The east and westbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria) on-ramps to southbound I-17 will also be closed. Detour: Drivers can use 27th Avenue to access the southbound frontage road at Yorkshire Drive.
Northbound I-17 will be closed overnight between Dunlap and Peoria avenues from 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, to 5 a.m. Thursday, April 6, for traffic-flow sensor installation. The northbound I-17 on-ramp at Northern Avenue also will be closed. DETOUR: Traffic will detour along the northbound frontage road. Drivers can also use northbound State Route 51 as an alternate.
Southbound I-17 will be closed overnight at Peoria Avenue from 9 p.m. Thursday, April 6, to 5 a.m. Friday, April 7, for traffic-flow sensor installation. The southbound I-17 on-ramps at Thunderbird and Cactus roads also will be closed. DETOUR: Traffic will exit and re-enter southbound I-17 using the off- and on-ramps at Peoria Avenue.
Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to two lanes at Bethany Home Road from 9 p.m. Thursday, April 6, to 4:30 a.m. Friday, April 7, for streetlight maintenance. Use caution while driving through the area.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
