TODAY IS

It was 100 years ago this week that the U.S. entered World War I.

Hard to believe we're just a month away from Cinco de Mayo!

Pharrell Williams turns 44 today. However, because he's sick of the song, "Happy," just wish him a birthday. And whatever you do, don't get him another oversized hat.

Singer Paula Cole turns 49 today. Years ago, she had a song called "Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?" Today, the cowboys are asking about her.

Troy Gentry, the second half of the country duo of Montgomery-Gentry, turns 50. Troy, as a friend, got a suggestion for you: no more bear hunting.

Mike McCready of Pearl Jam is 51 today... somehow...

Cammie Lusko, in the Guinness record books as the World's Strongest Woman, celebrates a birthday today. I'll let you tell her she's 59.

Actor Mitch Pileggi turns 65 today. Would it help if I said Skinner from The X-Files?

Agnetha Faltskog... 25% of Abba... turns 67 today.
I believe she was the member with the most vowels in her name.
Her name translates into "the blonde from Abba."
She was one of the founding members of Abba... one of the few bands that can spell it's name backwards.

Retired General Colin Powell turns 80 today. He wasn't the first Colin to serve in Washington, but he was among the best. Wow, it seems just like yesterday I had absolutely no idea how old he was.

Go for Broke Day -- The phrase "Go for broke" means to risk it all, even if it means losing everything. It was adopted from the 442nd Infantry Regiment's unit motto "Go for Broke", which was derived from the Hawaiian pidgin phrase used by craps shooters risking all their money in one roll of the dice.
