Traffic shift on temporary Interstate 10 bridge at Craycroft Road begins April 5 in Tucson

Eastbound Interstate 10 at Craycroft Road will have lane restrictions around the clock beginning 5 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, until further notice. All eastbound I-10 traffic will be shifted onto a temporary bridge.

Two lanes will remain open at all times, however there are no shoulders on the temporary-bridge route.
All ramps will remain open.
The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph.
Westbound I-10 traffic will not be affected.

The temporary bridge will remain in place during the replacement of the overpass bridge decks, allowing traffic to remain on the interstate while the decks are replaced one at a time.

The $3.3 million project is scheduled for completion in fall 2017.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions and closures, but it’s possible that unscheduled impacts might occur because of weather or other factors. For the most current information about highway conditions statewide, visit ADOT’s Traveler Information Site at www.az511.gov, follow ADOT on Twitter (@ArizonaDOT) or call 511, except while driving.

For more information about this project, please call Paki Rico, ADOT senior community relations officer, at 520.388.4233 or email prico@azdot.gov or visit the website at http://azdot.gov/CraycroftTI.
