Avenue 3E southbound to close on Wednesday Paving project will close lane between Highway 95, Interstate 8

YUMA – Southbound Avenue 3E will be closed between Highway 95 and Interstate 8 for much of the day on Wednesdaywhile Arizona Department of Transportation crews pave the road as part of a nine-month project to make improvements to Avenue 3E and Highway 95.

Southbound lanes will be closed from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday. Drivers will want to consider Araby Road to the east or follow Highway 95 west to connect with I-8 while the work is underway.

The work is part of a $3.2 million project to widen, repave and reduce congestion on Avenue 3E from I-8 to Highway 95, and Highway 95 from Avenue 3E to Araby Road. The work began this spring and is expected to be completed by August.

Lane restrictions will continue on Highway 95 while paving work continues. One lane remains open in each direction between Avenue 3E and Araby Road. That work is expected to be complete in late May.
