Lane closed on Interstate 10 for bridge work at Craycroft Road

Vehicle width restriction of 11 feet also in place

Eastbound Interstate 10 will be reduced to one lane at Craycroft Road from 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, for bridge work. All vehicles wider than 11 feet must use the I-10 ramps at Craycroft Road.

All eastbound I-10 traffic at Craycroft Road has been shifted onto a temporary bridge and lane restrictions are in place around the clock until summer 2017.

Two lanes are open at all times on the temporary bridge route; however, there are no shoulders in this location.
The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph.
All ramps are open.
Westbound I-10 traffic is not affected.

The temporary bridge will remain in place during the replacement of the overpass bridge decks, allowing traffic to remain on the interstate while the decks are replaced one at a time. The $3.3 million project is scheduled for completion in fall 2017.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
