THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Taylor Swift pulled all of her music from streaming services in 2014, saying that artists weren't being fairly compensated. Last Friday, it returned to all of them, including Spotify.
  • The next time you go to an IKEA, you may notice their shopping bags have undergone a makeover.
  • TV's Batman, Adam West, died Friday night after battling cancer. He was 88.
  • Sirius XM is making a $480 million investment into Pandora.
  • The body of former NFL receiver James Hardy was found in an Indiana river. He was 31.
  • Aretha Franklin's hometown of Detroit has named a street after her. A section of Madison Street, between Brush and Witherell, was named Aretha Franklin Way.
  • It seems that former President Obama visited George and Amal Clooney at their home in the U.K. right before Amal gave birth to their twins.
  • A big deal was made about Jerry Seinfeld not hugging Kesha when the two met last week. Jerry says he doesn't hug strangers and frankly, didn't know who she was.
  • Of course, and now former F.B.I. Director Comey is in line for a $10 million book deal.
  • Julie Andrews says she won't do a cameo in "Mary Poppins Returns" because everything should be about the new Poppins, Emily Blunt. The movie comes out Christmas of next year.
  • Actress Glenne Headly died last Thursday night at the age of 63. "Lonesome Dove," "Dick Tracy" and "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" among her movies. She was the ex-wife of John Malkovich.
  • Still bad blood between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. Katy lashed out at her in several interviews last week.
