UPDATE: Overnight closure scheduled at Craycroft Road underneath Interstate 10 this weekend

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following restrictions as construction continues at the Interstate 10 and Craycroft Road traffic interchange:

Craycroft Road will be closed in both directions underneath I-10 from 6 p.m. Saturday, June 17, to 10 a.m. Sunday, June 18, for bridge work (work had previously been scheduled to occur overnight Friday, June 16, but was rescheduled). All ramps will remain open.

All eastbound I-10 traffic at Craycroft Road has been shifted onto a temporary bridge and lane restrictions are in place around the clock through summer 2017.

Two lanes are open at all times on the temporary bridge route; however, there are no shoulders in this location.
The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph.
All ramps are open.
Westbound I-10 traffic is not affected.

The temporary bridge will remain in place during the replacement of the overpass bridge decks, allowing traffic to remain on the interstate while the decks are replaced one at a time.

Width and weight restrictions of 22 feet wide and 40 tons for over-dimensional vehicles will remain in place on eastbound I-10 in this work zone through summer 2017.

The $3.3 million project is scheduled for completion in fall 2017.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.

Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors. For more information, please call Paki Rico, ADOT senior community relations officer, at 520.388.4233 or email prico@azdot.gov or visit the website athttp://azdot.gov/CraycroftTI.
