Overnight lane restrictions scheduled this week on Interstate 10 between State Route 587 and the Gila River Bridge

A project to improve two miles of travel lanes on I-10 south and east of the metro Phoenix region continues, with overnight work scheduled through Friday. Construction is occurring on east- and westbound I-10 between the Gila River Bridge (milepost 174) and State Route 587 (milepost 176). Drivers need to slow down and use caution around crews and equipment in the work zone while the following restrictions are in place:

Westbound I-10 will be narrowed to one lane from 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, and again from 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30.
Westbound I-10 will be narrowed to one lane from 7 to 11 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30.
Eastbound I-10 will be narrowed to one lane from 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, to 6 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, and again from 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, to 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 1.
No work is scheduled over the Labor Day holiday weekend. After this week, crews will not return to the work zone until the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 5.

The project includes removing the existing asphalt and replacing it with smooth, durable rubberized asphalt; installing new guardrail; and installing pavement markings. Learn more on the project webpage.
