Section of Giss Parkway closed Thursday, August 3, for paving at new roundabout

Drivers who use Giss Parkway in Yuma should plan for a full closure in both directions between Prison Hill Road and Seventh Street from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug.3. The closure is necessary so crews can pave the new roundabout at Giss Parkway and Interstate 8.
On the north side of the project, drivers will be re-routed through Redondo Center Drive.
On the south side of the project, drivers will be re-routed through Castle Dome Avenue.
The Arizona Department of Transportation is maintaining access to all businesses in the vicinity of the work zone while the closure is in place.

Other project-related restrictions include:

The westbound off- and on-ramps at Interstate 8 and Giss Parkway are closed to all traffic 24 hours a day, seven days a week while construction continues this summer. Drivers must use an alternate route, such as the 16th Street exit.
