Hershey Highway
Poland now has a Hershey Highway - quite literally. Thanks to an overturned semi-truck truck near Slupca, tons of liquid milk chocolate covered a six-lane highway and the stuff hardened, blocking traffic and creating a nightmare for clean-up crews. The chocolate gushed across all six lanes on the A2 which connects Poznan to Warsaw, blocking traffic in both directions. Videos posted to Twitter show excavators scooping the soppy, sticky mess from the highway as traffic builds up. Meanwhile, the truck lies on its side in the median. The driver is okay - suffering only a broken arm. Nobody else was hurt. Senior Brigadier Bogdan Kowalski of Slupca's fire brigade said, "The cooling chocolate is worse than snow." (USA Today)

What's Wrong with Airline People These Days?
More airline PR nightmares - this time for American Airlines - who issued an apology to Kelsey Myers who was boarding a flight from Los Angeles to Chicago and was mortified when an employee near the gate stopped her from entering the plane due to her breast pump and berated her for arguing over the airline's carry-on policy. Myers says she was told she was carrying too many items to board the plane which included a carry-on, a personal item, breast milk in a cooler and a breast pump. As the two debated what the policy was, the agent called his supervisor. Myers wrote on Facebook: "She started yelling at me to check the bag. In a condescending tone, she screamed in front of about 50 people waiting to board the flight ‘how many boobs do you have?'" Leslie Scott, a representative of American Airlines, said the argument should never have happened adding, "It's difficult enough to travel as a breastfeeding mom. We want it to be easier, not more difficult." The airline has since apologized to Myers and offered her compensation. (NBC)

Cops Thought It Was a Gator. Now Arrest Wife!
Seventeen years ago, Mike Williams vanished just before a celebration of his sixth wedding anniversary to his wife, Denise. The belief at the time, in 2000, was that Mike, then 31, had fallen from a boat while duck hunting on Lake Seminole and been eaten by alligators. All these years later, his body was suddenly found - dumped near a boat landing. The announcement of its discovery came a day after Mike's best friend, Brian Winchester, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for the armed kidnapping of Denise, whom he married in 2005. In June 2001, Mike had been declared dead by "accidental drowning" at Denise's request. She collected more than $2 million from life insurance policies, including a $1 million policy sold to Mike by Winchester. Though Denise and Winchester would later marry, the pair divorced in 2015, and in 2016, Winchester kidnapped Denise at gunpoint. Documents from his sentencing show he was fearful of what Denise might tell police about Mike's disappearance. An indictment now says Denise conspired with Winchester to shoot and kill her husband and she has been arrested. Denise's lawyer says she'll fight the charges and is innocent.(Tallahassee Democrat)

No More Boy Scouts for Mormons
The Mormon Church has made it official -they are severing all ties with the Boy Scouts of America at the end of 2019 and will place its remaining 425,000 boys into a gospel-focused youth program it's developing. The move wasn't a complete surprise after the religion last year removed 185,000 boys between the ages of 14 and 18, signaling that an end to the long-time alliance was near. For decades, joining the Boy Scouts is practically automatic among Mormon boys, and the religion has long been the biggest sponsor of Boy Scout troops in the US. The Mormon boys who will be leaving represent about 18.5% of the 2.3 million youths in the organization. While they haven't come right out and said it, the Boy Scouts' move in 2015 to allow gay troop leaders and more recent decision to change their name to Scouts BSA and allow girls to join is believed to be behind the move. The Mormon Church opposes gay marriage, and has traditionally used separate youth programs for boys and girls. The church has said they have plans to develop their own program which will likely include outdoor activities and character building similar to Boy Scouts but not be modeled after Boy Scouts or use ranks. In a statement, the BSA thanked the thousands of Mormons who've served as scout leaders, wished the religion well, and said individual Mormons who wish to stay in Boy Scouts will be integrated into other troops. Mother's Worst Possible Nightmare
In Salt Lake City, 15-year-old Baleigh Bagshaw had just gotten home from school on and called her mom to check in. Then, the unthinkable: While she was on the phone with her mother, she was brutally attacked while inside of her home. Her mother heard the attack going on and then the phone went dead. The mother immediately called a neighbor, who went to the house and called police. Police found the teen dead at the house. After a manhunt, 24-year-old suspect Shaun French was taken into custody yesterday (Wednesday) in Colorado. Police say he was "lying in wait" for the teen and once lived in the same house as Bagshaw and her family, but did not live there when Bagshaw was murdered. Police say he and the teen had a consensual but illegal relationship, but it's not clear how long the relationship lasted or when French lived in the house. An arrest warrant charging him with three counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor was issued Tuesday. Police have not said how Bagshaw was killed or if weapons were involved, simply saying she died in a "very violent attack." A police sergeant said, "I can't even guess what the mother would be going through right now. Our hearts and thoughts are with her." A GoFundMe campaign has been set up for the family. (Desert News)

What the What?
In Prince William County, Virginia, two elementary school-aged girls, ages 10 and 11, have been charged as juveniles in connection with death threats made against another little girl! Police said the two girls communicated by text to conspire to kill the victim, who is 11-years-old. The two suspects used cryptic language and encouraged each other to delete the text messages after the threats were read. On April 25, police responded to the girls' school after a concerned parent alerted school staff. In a statement, police said after extensive consultation with the Commonwealth Attorney, the girls were charged with conspiracy to commit a felony. Fortunately the threats were not carried out and no one was harmed. Details of the alleged threats have not been disclosed nor was the name of the school the girls attended. <>(WTOP News)
