This Is Us Season 3 Officially Begins Production: See the First Image From Set. The Pearsons are back in production. Season three of This Is Us officially started filming on Tuesday, July 10. And you know this social media-loving family of actors and crew marked the occasion for their legions of viewers. Series creator Dan Fogelman posted, an image of the first scene of season three. In it, Sterling K. Brown, Susan Kelechi Watson and the arm of somebody (is that you Justin Hartley?) are in their family kitchen. The orange juice is flowing! What, did you think the first scene would be set in the future? Think again. What's got them so excited? What's got us excited is the kick off of production! Chrissy Metz took to Instagram on Monday, July 9, to share her feelings on the start of filming season three. "Tomorrow we officially start shooting season three of @nbcthisisus! Y'all, it feels like the night before the first day of school! It's difficult to put into a post what this show and the special humans who make it possible mean to me," she wrote. "I am flooded with emotion and gratitude for each one of you who are as excited as we are to share these new chapters together!" This Is Us season three will explore more about the Pearson family. Season two ended with several flashforwards showing Hartley's Kevin on his way to Vietnam, Metz's Kate dealing with her new husband Toby's (Chris Sullivan) depression and Randall (Brown) several years in the future, struggling with going to visit somebody. "I think we might be looking at our most ambitious, potentially our best season yet, which is rare to say when you're entering your 37th episode of a show, but I feel recharged," Fogelman previously told E! News. "I think we have really spectacular stuff coming and real showcases for these actors." Expect some more insight into Beth (Kelechi Watson). "We have some stuff coming for Beth right away early in season three where you really learn about her and where she comes from and what her background is that I think is going to be really exciting for the audience," Fogelman teased. As for the big old man Randall time jump, all will be explained. "In bits and pieces that we're going to sparse out that information over the first half of the season," Fogelman said. "And kind of give those answers, but also ask new questions as we always try and do." This Is Us returns Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. on NBC. (Eonline)

The Originals Is Going Back to Mystic Falls to Visit Some Friends in First Look Pics. Guess who's going back to Mystic Falls...and who will be waiting for them when they get there! Candice King and Matt Davis are making their return to The Originals in the July 25 episode -- the show's second to last episode ever! -- when a few friends pay them a little visit. In "The Tale of Two Wolves," Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies), and Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) go back to Mystic Falls for a variety of reasons, and while there they not only encounter Caroline (King) and Alaric (Davis), but they also give us a little tour of the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. That means we'll be getting a taste of Legacies, the upcoming spinoff starring Russell and Davis which takes place at the school. E! News has the pictures featuring your first look at the episode, and if you're a fan of Klaroline (also known as Klaus and Caroline), there's a morsel just for you. If this isn't a quintessential Klaus entrance, we don't know what is. We're just going to guess that since Klaus is involved, that look from Alaric is not one of happiness and contentment. Is this hand-holding session a goodbye? A hello? A profession of love? A rejection of love? A plea for help? We know, but we won't tell. You will just have to wait until July 25. The Originals airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on the CW. (Eonline)

Kristin Cavallari at Wit's End With ''Strong Personality'' Shannon on Very Cavallari: ''It Takes a Lot to Corral Her.'' How do you solve a problem like Shannon Ford? Kristin Cavallari finds herself in this predicament in this clip from Sunday's all-new Very Cavallari. Despite being "really good at her job," it appears the Uncommon James employee is struggling to live up to expectations. "Couple things... One is, have you checked Twitter or Pinterest?" The Hills alum asks her store manager Brittainy Taylor. "Pinterest she put up the line, Twitter has been nothing," Kristin's right hand stoically reveals. Understandably, this leaves Kristin visibly frustrated as "ninety percent of our sales come from social media." "Shannon is, for all intents and purposes, the Uncommon James face -- besides Kristin herself," Brittainy explains in a confessional. "She's really witty, she's smart." "However, Shannon is a very strong personality and it takes a lot to corral her," the former MTV star adds. "I think it's gonna be an uphill battle." As Kristin is swamped with work related to Uncommon James' expansion, it's up to Brittainy to lay down the law. "How's like Twitter and all that?" Brittainy awkwardly asks Shannon during a meeting. "Because I've noticed that there hasn't been an update since like December." "I send all the newsletters to Twitter now," Shannon pointedly defends. Unimpressed with Shannon's update, Brittainy reminds her coworker that "Twitter should be its own feed of things" as to avoid "brand suicide." (Eonline)

'Ingress' Anime Series to Air on Netflix in October. Based on the augmented reality mobile game from Pokemon Go creator Niantic, the series is produced by Crafter and Fuji TV, an investor in the Google spinout. The animated series based on augmented reality mobile game Ingress from Pokemon Go developer Niantic will screen worldwide via Netflix from October, after it airs on Japan's Fuji TV. Ingress: The Animation was announced by Fuji in March as the first series to run in its new late-night Ultra+ anime slot. It will be produced by Tokyo animation house Crafter for Fuji, with the acclaimed Yuhei Sakuragi (Neon Genesis: Impact) directing and Takeshi Honda, art director on Neon Genesis Evangelion, designing the characters. Studio Ghibli and Production I.G. alumni Tomohiko Ishii (Ghost in the Shell 2.0) will produce. The launch of the series on Netflix will be timed to the release of the Ingress Prime update for the game that was the forerunner to Pokemon Go. Fuji invested in Niantic before the Google spinout launched Pokemon Go in 2016. The voice cast for the Japanese version of Ingress: The Animation will include Yoshiki Nakajima as Makoto, Reina Ueda as Sarah, Shigeo Kiyama as new character Jack and Megumi Ogata as ADA, an AI entity in the series. The English voice cast is yet to be announced. (Hollywood Reporter)

Dakota Fanning Joins Michael B. Jordan in Rooster Teeth's 'gen:LOCK'. The star of 'The Alienist' will voice a pilot, while 'Ghost in the Shell's' Koichi Yamadera will take on the character of Kazu Iida. Rooster Teeth is rounding out the cast for its animated series gen:LOCK. The digital studio has tapped The Alienist star Dakota Fanning and Ghost in the Shell's Koichi Yamadera to voice characters in the series alongside Michael B. Jordan. The 3D animated series is set on Earth while its last free society is on the losing side of a global war. A diverse team of young pilots is recruited to control the next generation of mecha, so-called giant, weaponized robot bodies. These recruits find that their newfound abilities come at no small cost. Fanning will play Miranda Worth, an expert pilot who is also a love interest for Jordan's Julian Chase. Yamadera will voice Kazu Iida, a new recruit who transfers from Japan's military forces to fight alongside Chase. "We're thrilled to announce Dakota and Yamadera-san are joining the cast of gen:LOCK," said gen:LOCK showrunner Gray Haddock, head of Rooster Teeth Animation. "Dakota brings an endearing energy and texture to Miranda that the audience is going to bond with very strongly. Yamadera-san gives Kazu a fantastic balance of attitude and strength, and, as anime fans, we're doing our best not to geek out that he's joined the cast." Gen:LOCK is Rooster Teeth's second anime-style series. The Austin-based studio, a subsidiary of Otter Media's Fullscreen, is best known for producing digital series RWBY and Red vs. Blue. Jordan's Outlier Productions is co-producing gen:LOCK with Rooster Teeth. The series is expected to premiere in January 2019. (Hollywood Reporter)

Fox Shareholder Sues to Stop Disney Acquisition. The absence of financial projections for Hulu in SEC filings are among the ommissions alleged to violate securities rules. The sale of 21st Century Fox's studio assets to Disney has triggered the first lawsuit from a shareholder, who complains about what was filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The putative class action seeks to enjoin the transaction. Robert Weiss, leading other shareholders, filed his lawsuit on Friday in Delaware federal court. The lawsuit alleges that a proxy statement filed on June 28 omits or misrepresents the company's financial projections and the data underlying financial valuation analyses from Goldman Sachs and Centerview Partners. The complaint further contends that Goldman's potential conflicts of interest have not been adequately disclosed. "In short, unless remedied, 21CF's public stockholders will be forced to make a voting or appraisal decision on the Proposed Transaction without full disclosure of all material information concerning the Proposed Transaction being provided to them," states the complaint. In the midst of a bidding war with Comcast, Disney has proposed $38 per share in cash and stock for Fox's assets. The proposed deal has already won approval from the Justice Department with the condition that Fox's regional sports networks are divested. Disney has agreed to this condition. Regarding alleged material omissions in the proxy statement, the shareholder lawsuit complains about the absence of projections or forecasts for Hulu as well as earnings estimates for European broadcaster Sky in future years. The objecting shareholder also wants more information about debt and raises concerns about how a Goldman affiliate was asked to act as an underwriter, placement agent and bookrunner in connection with Fox's possible incurrence of permanent debt financing. This is presented as a potential conflict given the investment bank's role in issuing its fairness opinion. Fox and its board are accused of various securities violation, and if the Fox-Disney transaction isn't enjoined on a preliminary basis, the shareholder would like the deal later rescinded with an award of rescissory damages. The plaintiffs are represented by attorneys at Weisslaw and O'Kelly Earnst & Joyce. Fox declined comment about the lawsuit. (Hollywood Reporter)
