Jake Gyllenhaal Joining Instagram Is the Mid-Week Surprise We All Needed. The wait is over: Jake Gyllenhaal is finally on Instagram. On Wednesday, the award-winning actor made his debut on the popular social media app, just in time to begin promoting his new character in the 2019 film Spider-man: Far From Home. Judging by the looks of the video he shared, he was not expecting to take on the role of the villain Mysterio in the newest installment of the comic. The video showed a dumbfounded Jake put down the Spider-man comic he was reading before yelling, "Oh f--k." While Jake is accustomed to playing the good guys, his character in Nightcrawler proved that he has what it takes to get down and dirty. Although, it will be awhile before fans can see the actor as the elusive bad guy since the film has a release date for July 2019. Until then, fans will have to get their fill of Jake from his new Instagram account, which is more than they normally get from the notoriously private star. In 2017, he told The Guardian, "I'm not necessarily guarded, but I consider intimacy to be very important and I don't think everybody needs to know about my family or my personal details... I'm old school in that way." So old school, in fact, he often jokes that he is terrible at using electronics. "Like, I'm a drag and drop kind of guy. I don't know shortcut commands. I don't command 'whatever' to get the thing. Like, I just take my mouse and drag it over. And my friends are generally embarrassed. They're like, 'Control + V pastes it!' I'm going up to 'Edit,' then I'm going to highlight it, and then I'm going to drag it over.' Everyone's like [falling asleep]. That's the kind of guy I am," he told Conan O'Brien in 2017. "[But] I know computers!" Thankfully, Instagram is a relatively easy app to use. And, he is doing great so far! Within the hour that he joined, he already racked up over 60,000 followers. (Eonline)

Irish beauty Saoirse Ronan is dating her "Mary Queen of Scots" co-star Jack Lowden, Page Six has exclusively learned. The 24-year-old three-time Oscar nominee Ronan turned up with hunky Lowden, 28, at a celebrity screening of their new movie Tuesday night, and they looked extremely close at the after-party at Tavern on the Green, sources said. "Jack was following her all over," said a source. "He even followed her to the bathroom and was waiting outside for her. They were very close." Another source said that the pair were joined at the party by Ronan's mom, Monica, before Ronan had to head for a flight back to the set of Greta Gerwig's in-production "Little Women," which wraps in a week and also stars Emma Watson, Meryl Streep and Timothee Chalamet. In "Mary Queen of Scots," Lowden -- who previously starred in "Dunkirk" -- plays Ronan's on-screen husband Lord Darnley, a bisexual cheater with an unfortunate fate. Off-screen, Ronan was at first believed to be dating Lowden's ballet dancer brother Calum after they met at the BAFTAs this year. But more recently, eagle-eyed fans have spotted Ronan with Jack on vacation in the Dominican Republic and other spots. A movie source told us of Ronan and Jack: "We don't know when they got together, we only found out on Tuesday night when they rolled up together -- but they seem very happy and sweet." Before filming, Lowden said he was excited to work with Ronan since "she's lovely .?.?. I can't wait for that it's going to be fun." Their buzzy Focus Features period drama also stars Margot Robbie, who hit the red carpet and then did a quick outfit change to head to the starry Chanel show in town. Also at the Cinema Society premiere were Damian Lewis, Valentino, Claire Danes, Candace Bushnell and Mamie Gummer. (Page Six)

How Ellen Pompeo Deals With Being Called a "White Bitch." Ellen Pompeo, who has a mixed-race family, credits her compassion with being able to withstand racially charged criticism. The 49-year-old Grey's Anatomy actress and husband Chris Ivery, who is black, share daughters Stella, 9, and Sienna, 4, and son Eli, who will turn 2 this month. Over the years, Pompeo has spoken out against racism and lack of diversity in Hollywood. "Ellen, through all the ups and down you've had, people calling you a 'white bitch,' and people telling you don't use the black power fist, and you marrying a black man and that probably being an issue at some point, that could create a lot of insecurity, that could create a lot of instability in a person," Jada Pinkett Smith tells Pompeo on her Facebook Watch show Red Table Talk, in an interview airing on December 10. "What I've seen in you is that it's only created deeper character." "So I suffered trauma at an early age. My mother died when I was 4," Pompeo responded. "And I think that when you suffer any kind of trauma, especially as a child, I think you learn compassion, and I think that that makes you a more compassionate person. At the root of it, compassion is a great practice." In 2016, Pompeo ignited an online backlash when she used black emojis on Twitter. It intensified after the actress noted that she is a "white lady with a black husband and black children." "Don't be a hater I do it because racism is not just a black problem it is all of our problem get it???" she wrote in response to the criticism. "Not sure what this means but reverse racism isn't real. White people don't experience racism," another user wrote. "Ummm I've been called a white bitch and countless other things 50000 times today what would you call it?" Pompeo replied. "I'm so sad that people attacked me over standing up for equality," she wrote. "I'm sad that people chose anger and I'm sorry if I offended anyone." Earlier in 2016, Smith famously vowed to boycott the Oscars over a lack of diversity, following the nominations of an all-white group of actors. Last month, at NET-A-PORTER's The Big Television Debate panel discussion, Pompeo talked about lack of diversity in the media world. "This day has been incredible and there's a ton of women in the room, but I don't see enough color and I didn't see enough color when I walked in the room today and I had a meeting with a director of another endorsement project that I'm doing," she said. "I said, you know when I show up on set I would like to see the crew look like the world that I walk around in every day and I think it's up to all productions to make sure that your crew looks like the world we see." "As Caucasian people, it's our job, it's our task, it's our responsibility to make sure that we speak up in every single room we walk into, that this is not OK and that we can all do better," she said. "It's our job because we created the problem." "Ellen Pompeo shows what being an ally looks like," wrote the staff of Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rimes' Shondaland website.

Natalie Portman is following up on her original explanation of her comments about Jessica Simpson with a direct apology. "Thank you for your words. I completely agree with you that a woman should be allowed to dress however she likes and behave however she likes and not be judged," the actress, 37, commented on the singer's Instagram post. "I only meant to say I was confused -- as a girl coming of age in the public eye around the same time -- by the media's mixed messages about how girls and women were supposed to behave. I didn't mean to shame you and I'm sorry for any hurt my words may have caused. I have nothing but respect for your talent and your voice that you use to encourage and empower women all over the globe." The "Black Swan" star had previously tried to clarify her comments while talking to Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday Portman told ET, "I would never intend to shame anybody and that was absolutely not my intention. I was really talking about mixed media messages out there for young women and completely apologize for any hurt it may have caused because that was definitely not my intention." The social media back-and-forth comes after Portman said in a previous interview with USA Today that she was "confused" as a teenager by a photo of the "With You" singer in a sexy bikini, accompanied by an article saying she was a virgin. Simpson, 38, responded with an Instagram post, saying she was "disappointed" in the Time's Up activist and explained that "being sexy in a bikini and being proud of my body are not synonymous with having sex." How Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Really Feel About Their Custody Agreement. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie reached a custody agreement on Friday and both sides may be breathing a sigh of relief, albeit a small one. Jolie's attorney Samantha Bley DeJean confirmed to E! News on Nov. 30 that the arrangement "was agreed to weeks ago and has been signed by both parties and the judge." According to DeJean, "The agreement, which is based on the recommendations of the child custody evaluator, eliminates the need for a trial." The specifics of the custody deal remain confidential "to protect the best interests of the kids." While the details remain under lock and key, a source told E! News on Wednesday that Jolie "is pleased to be entering the next stage and is relieved with the progress for the health of the family." The custody battle was scheduled to go to trial on Dec. 4. A source told us on Nov. 5 that the parents and their legal teams were "working together towards an out of court settlement." The insider added, "Angelina is not seeking sole custody of the kids, she still supports the reconciliation of the children with their father." A second source gave E! News a glimpse into how Pitt is feeling about the agreement. "While some progress has been made, this isn't an ideal situation for Brad," the insider shared. "There's an arrangement in place but it's not a permanent agreement, and there's a long road ahead." They continued, "All Brad cares about is the kids, they're his number one priority and he's focusing on them." The custody battle has been a tumultuous one for Jolie and Pitt. In May, they were reportedly "at odds" over an agreement with no end in sight. In August, both teams of lawyers met to iron out final details, although it was described as "very time consuming." A third source shared with E! News what the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star's plans look like in the near future with his six kids Maddox Jolie-Pitt 17, Pax Jolie-Pitt,14, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, 13, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt 12, Knox Jolie-Pitt, and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, 10. "He will start to spend more time with the kids in the coming months. He will do his own holiday with them and make it special," the source said. "They will have separate holiday celebrations with the kids." According to the source, "Brad is hoping the worst is behind them and that they can move on from the fighting and painful past. He knows in the long run the kids are best with both their mom and dad in the picture. He can now move forward and try be a stable and constant positive influence in their lives." Jolie filed for divorce from her husband on Sept. 20, 2016 after 12 years together. At the time, the Maleficent star cited irreconcilable differences and sought physical custody of the kids. It was later revealed that Pitt was the center of an investigation that allegedly occurred on a private plane flying from Europe back to Los Angeles. The FBI then got involved and announced on Nov. 22, 2016 that no charges would be filed against him. The War Machine star discussed the divorce proceedings and investigation into the incident and how it turned his world upside down. He told GQ in May 2017, "I was really on my back and chained to a system when Child Services was called. And you know, after that, we've been able to work together to sort this out. We're both doing our best. I heard one lawyer say, 'No one wins in court -- it's just a matter of who gets hurt worse.'" He continued, "And it seems to be true, you spend a year just focused on building a case to prove your point and why you're right and why they're wrong, and it's just an investment in vitriolic hatred. I just refuse. And fortunately, my partner in this agrees. It's just very, very jarring for the kids, to suddenly have their family ripped apart." (Eonline)

Michael Avenatti and his estranged wife have an agreement in place for him to pay her child and spousal support, and it requires him to fork over a ton of his assets ... TMZ has learned. According to docs filed in Orange County, a judge ordered Avenatti to pay Lisa Storie-Avenatti $37,897 per month in child support, retroactive to Jan. 1. We'll do the math for ya ... it's $454,764. The order also requires Avenatti to pay her spousal support of $124,398 per month, retroactive to Jan. 2018. That's roughly $1.5 million. Now, cut to Dec. 4, when both parties filed docs stipulating Avenatti write child support checks for $40k now, and another in January. As for the balance ... according to the docs, Avenatti agrees to hand over a bunch of his assets for Lisa to liquidate. The loot includes 5 luxury wristwatches -- some worth more than $50k -- a Frank Gehry sculpture, and several other expensive works of art. Additionally, he has to hand over the keys to a 2017 Ferarri 488 GT Spider he was leasing. By the way, those go for about $300k. And, there's this -- Michael's law firm ... Avenatti & Associates, is required to transfer, to Lisa, its interest in a 2016 Honda private jet. (TMZ)

The woman who claims she was attacked by NFL star Reuben Foster says reps from the 49ers tried to undermine her credibility with police during the investigation ... telling cops she had lied about domestic violence in the past. Elissa Ennis appeared on "Good Morning America" Thursday where she accused Foster of roughing her up on 3 separate occasions ... including the Nov. 24 incident at a team hotel in Tampa, Florida. As we previously reported, Ennis called 911 and told the operator Foster had slapped her and roughed her up during a dispute. He's since been charged with 1 count of misdemeanor domestic violence. She revealed the injury photos during the interview with 'GMA.' Ennis told 'GMA' they had been arguing because she threatened to tell his new girlfriend that he paid for her flight out to Florida to see him. "Even when I called the police, the 49ers came up there," Ennis said ... "I have pictures of the 49ers coming up there trying to talk to the police telling them I'm the same ex-girlfriend that set up there and lied." The 49ers have not commented on Ennis' claims. She's referring to the previous domestic violence allegations she made against Foster back in February -- when she told officials Foster beat the daylights out of her in their California home ... but later recanted her story and told a judge she made the whole thing up. Now, Ennis admits she lied in court to protect Foster -- saying, "I did what I had to do for the person I love. I thought that he would change, anybody in my position would do the same thing." Foster was cut by the 49ers -- but later picked up by the Washington Redskins and Ennis claims she was "shocked" another NFL team would take a chance on such a bad guy. Ennis says she's now getting help and realizes her relationship with Foster was destructive and "not love." (TMZ)

Just when Tommie Lee thought she was about to be released from custody, she was hauled right back into the pokey ... TMZ has learned. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Tommie was set to be released from Georgia's Cobb County Jail with an ankle monitor on Nov. 7, but the "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" star got rearrested the same day for violating probation in her DUI case. The violation was the result of getting arrested TWICE within 24 hours for allegedly stalking her daughter and slamming the child into a school locker back in October. If you're wondering why you haven't seen Tommie out on the scene ... we're told she's been cooling her heels in jail in Fulton County -- where she got the DUI -- for 28 days now. We're told she'll get a 2nd shot at release later this month. (TMZ)

Harvey Weinstein apparently doesn't need a publicist anymore ... he's handling it on his own and reaching out to the media in an effort to clear his name ... TMZ has learned. Sources tell us the disgraced studio mogul fired off several emails Tuesday to his people in the media he once worked with, back when he was a Hollywood mogul. He did not send one to TMZ, but we've obtained a copy from a source. The reason for the emails is pretty clear -- Weinstein feels his side of the NYC rape case isn't getting enough attention. Weinstein's railing against cops and claims their misconduct has tainted the entire criminal case against him. As we've reported, Weinstein's lawyers have filed motions to have the case dismissed. Weinstein himself repeats that sentiment in the email, making clear reference to the former NYPD lead detective who's been accused of witness tampering. (TMZ)

The Cleveland Police Dept. says one of its officers leaked a copy of the Kareem Hunt police report to the NFL back in February -- and now it's launched an internal investigation. "Following an internal review, it has been determined that in February 2018 a member of the Cleveland Division of Police provided a copy of the police report involving the February 10, 2018 assault incident at The 9 to a representative from the National Football League," the PD said. "The report did not go through the official public records request process." So, what's the takeaway? The statement implies the NFL did go outside of official channels in an effort to gather information about the incident. The CPD also says it's looking into the "overall response" by the PD regarding the Hunt incident -- but did not get specific about other issues. One big question ... why didn't the responding officers make more of an effort to view the surveillance video on the night of the incident? The woman was seen on police body cam video begging the officers to view the tapes -- but cops said they were stuck because the hotel is a "private facility" and "they don't have to show us unless they're ordered by a court." Kareem Hunt was neither arrested nor charged with a crime -- and prosecutors won't give us an explanation for why they haven't moved forward with the case despite a smoking gun video. (TMZ)
