The 10th annual Brown Canyon Ranch Open House is May 2, 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m., at historic Brown Canyon Ranch. Events include B Troop, 4th Regiment, U.S. Cavalry (Memorial); a nature walk (9:30 a.m.); ranch house history (1 p.m.); adobe brick making; quilting; spinning; wood carving; candle-making; and cowboy songs (noon).
For youth there will be plastic calf roping; a treasure hunt; and brand rubbings.
Admission is free. Lunch will be available for sale. Pets must be on a leash.
Directions: Take South State Route 92 to Ramsey Canyon Road; go west 2 miles to the BCR trailhead. Shuttle service available.
