Southern Arizona Diaper Bank

SouthEastern Arizona Governments Organization, Area Agency on Aging (SEAGO/AAA) would like to announce their first  annual  diaper drive on December 6, 2014 at the Vista Park in Sierra Vista.   SEAGO/AAA, in conjunction with the Southern Arizona Diaper Bank, will be accepting donations of adult diapers from 11 am to 3 pm. If you want to find a topic that NOBODY wants to talk about, just say the words “Adult Incontinence”.   15-20% of adults over the age of 65 are incontinent.  Incontinence is defined as “..inability to control urination.  It affects people of all ages and gender, but women are twice as likely as men to develop incontinence”. The problem is real and many people suffer from this condition.  For the elderly and ill, there are many items that Medicare won’t cover, and that supplemental insurance will cover partially.   Adult incontinence supplies cost $100 per month.  With the average social security benefit of $874/mon...

Kids Vintage Holiday Fun @ the Museum Sunday, December 7 • 1:00–4:00 p.m. Ethel H. Berger Center Come dressed in your finest 1880s fashion, or borrow a costume from the museum, and have your portrait taken for the holidays in the museum’s C.S. Fly Portrait Studio. But that’s not all! You and your child can create an old fashioned children’s cloth book or make a vintage-style ornament to keep or give as a gift. Old World Santa will be checking his list to see if you’ve been naughty or nice, and Mrs. Claus will host an old-fashioned story time with puppets! Children ages 5 to 13 can participate and parents, grandparents, and guardians are encouraged to stay. This event is free, however donations are graciously accepted.
