Canyon hike, picnic planned Saturday There will be a Huachuca Canyon hike and picnic hosted by Team Red, White, and Blue — a non-profit organization supporting America’s veterans — on Saturday. An 8.5-mile hike begins at 8 a.m., while a family friendly 4-mile hike starts at 9:30 a.m. The picnic begins at 11:30 a.m.; bring your own food and desserts. See military equipment on display See vintage military jeeps, trucks, and motorcycles on display beneath the wings of historic aircraft. Pima Air and Space Museum will host this vintage vehicle show Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., with last admittance at 4 p.m. Collectors will be on hand to answer questions with special displays throughout the outside grounds. Spring Bazaar set for Saturday The City of Sierra Vista will host their annual Spring Bazaar Saturday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., at the Ethel Berger Center and the Oscar Yrun Community Center (2950 and 3020 E. Tacoma St.) featuring crafts and small businesses. The Tea Shop at the Ethel Berger Center will be open to serve a variety of lunch items. Admission is free and open to the public. Shredfest to take place

Shredfest to take place Dispose of old electronics and papers on Saturday, 9 a.m. – noon, in the Target parking lot, 4151 SR 90/92, Sierra Vista. Bring old electronics and cell phones with batteries. (There is a $10 fee to dispose of televisions.) Also bring documents for shredding, such as old tax returns, bank statements, check book registers, credit card statements and medical records. Book festival planned

Book festival planned Celebrate books and literacy in Tucson this Saturday and Sunday, 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. It features nearly 400 authors participating in 320 presentations at 36 venues as well as opportunities to meet authors, poets, screenwriters and journalists. There are book signings, panel discussions, staged entertainment, food vendors, children's and Science City programming and dozens of free activities for all ages on The University of Arizona Mall.
