Ajo Way to be narrowed to one westbound lane at Kinney Road starting Feb. 1

Westbound Ajo Way (State Route 86) will be narrowed to one lane east of the intersection with Kinney Road beginningWednesday, Feb. 1, to allow the Arizona Department of Transportation to work on improvements north of the highway. The restriction will remain in effect until further notice. The lane restriction, in place at approximately milepost 166, is necessary to create a safe work zone as crews continue to widen Ajo Way (State Route 86) between Valencia and Kinney roads. Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment. ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions and closures, but it’s possible that unscheduled impacts might occur because of weather or other factors. For the most current information about highway conditions statewide, visit ADOT’s Traveler Information Site at www.az511.gov , follow ADOT on Twitter ( @ArizonaDOT ) or call 511 except while driving. Study of potential improvements to Interstate 10 and State Route 210 (Barraza-Aviation Highway) in Tucson is the focus of a Feb. 15 public scoping meeting

Public input is needed to help ADOT determine future corridor improvements and the linkage of I-10 and SR 210 The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), will hold a public scoping meeting to begin Phase II of a study to determine how best to improve mobility along I-10 between the intersection with Interstate 19 (I-19) to Kolb Road, southeast of downtown Tucson. Another major component of this study is to identify a new alignment SR 210 (Barraza Aviation Highway) that would connect with I-10 east of downtown Tucson and possibly help ease congestion in that area. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at the El Pueblo Regional Center, at 101 W. Irvington Road in Tucson. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with a formal presentation starting at 6:15 p.m. and the opportunity to meet with members of the project team until 7:30 p.m. The intent of this meeting is to allow the study team to share informa...

Other Stuff.....

Three people were arrested in New Jersey last week after leaving behind a pound of marijuana in their hotel room. One was quoted as saying, "Oh, wow, man." Actually, they all were. According to a recent study, men on dating sites are more popular if they mention dancing or cooking. But pick one or the other. Saying, "I like to dance with food" will get you nowhere. I wish 8 hours of sleep went as slow as 8 hours of work.
