Westbound on-ramp at Interstate 8 and Araby Road (SR 195) closes Friday

Consider 32nd or 24th streets as alternate routes

The Arizona Department of Transportation is scheduled close the westbound Interstate 8 on-ramp at Araby Road (SR 195) in Yuma on Friday, July 28, as part of the on-going interchange improvement project. Drivers should consider using alternate routes such as 32nd or 24th streets.

The westbound I-8 on-ramp is expected to remain closed until September. The westbound I-8 off-ramp will remain open.

ADOT will maintain one lane of travel in both directions on Araby Road as crews build a roundabout north of I-8. Construction on the south side of the interchange is scheduled to begin in spring 2018.

Work is being completed in two phases to minimize impacts to winter visitors and peak produce seasons. The project is scheduled for completion in fall 2018.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.
