African American pioneers of Arizona 

The Sierra Vista Historical Society is hosting Amazing Arizona 2015; A Patchwork of Stories.  On Feb. 2, 1 p.m., Dr. Akua Duku Anoyke will present “African American Pioneers of Arizona” in the Mona Bishop Room of the Sierra Vista Public Library, 2600 E. Tacoma St. Anoyku is the associate director of SHArCS and associate professor of Africana Language, Literature, and Culture at Arizona State University’s New College. Her research will highlight African American pioneer women activists. This event is open to the public and free of charge.  For more information, contact 520.439.2306.
