Mineral Madness family events, sale
Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum allows everyone to learn something new about gems/minerals/fossils and to discover new treasures Saturday – Sunday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily. Thousands of specimens will be on display and for sale, with prices as low as 50 cents. Activities for families and children will include viewing micro-minerals, painting with minerals and learning about how animals and people use minerals. 

At each station, children can collect a free rock or mineral specimen in their own egg-carton collection box. Children should bring their own egg-carton if possible. The mineral sale is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days (Baldwin Education Building). Visit the website for admission prices, www.desertmuseum.org or call 520.883.1380.
