I-40 westbound restricted at I-17 Junction on Wednesday and Thursday (July 29-30)

Lane restriction to accommodate sign installation

The Arizona Department of Transportation crews will be making preparations to install an overhead electronic message sign for westbound travel on Interstate 40 (milepost 197), at the I-17 junction just south of Flagstaff.

Electronic message signs span the width of the freeway and are used by ADOT to help keep drivers informed of traffic, road and weather conditions.

On Wednesday (July 29) and Thursday (July 20), a westbound travel restriction will be in place as crews prepare foundations in advance of installing an overhead electronic message sign. Work will take place daily from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please observe reduced speeds and exercise caution while traveling through the work zone.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule. To stay up-to-date with the latest highway conditions around the state, visit the ADOT Traveler Information Center at www.az511.gov or call 511.

Call the ADOT Project Hotline at 1.855.712.8530 with questions or comments.
