(Family Circle) If you can't be parted from Fido during vacation check out these five destinations have gone to the dogs in the best possible way. Before you book, make sure to ask about any fee for an animal to stay in your room, size, weight or breed restrictions, required signing of damage waivers, or security deposits:

Albuquerque, New Mexico

The Hotel Parq Central features pet friendly rooms within walking distance of the trendy Edo neighborhood similar to New York City's SoHo district. The city offers more than 140 miles of paved family and pet trails and 14 dog parks. Fun fact Travelin' Jack is the Roving Bulldog Reporter he rides zip-lines and tries out other local attraction, to the delight of his loyal Facebook followers. Three Dog Bakery whips up flavored biscuits and Cinna-Mutt Dolce Latte, among other doggie delicacies. They also offer a head-to-paw grooming treatment, ending with a pupcake.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Ocean Park Resort lives up the name, it's oceanfront and is next door to a dog park. There's a potty area on the first floor deck stocked with pick-up bags and lined with antibacterial synthetic grass. The front desk team is happy to play canine concierge. Dogs can learn to hang 20 on a paddleboard along with you at Island Inspired Board Company and play caddie on the Hawaiian Rumble mini golf course. At Buster's Real Ice Cream, your best bud will be wagging his tail for the vanilla ice cream cup topped with a mini Milk-Bone.

Pearce, Arizona

Sunglow Ranch offers families and their pets private casitas with porches overlooking the Coronado National Forest. Tucson Botanical Gardens opens its gates to dogs from June through September. At Pima Air and Space Museum, leashed pets can join the family in checking out the aircraft and spacecraft. Bookmans, a book, video game, musical instrument emporium, is a pet hangout. At Red's Smokehouse plus Tap Room in Tuscon, house-made dog far is on the menu.

St. Augustine, Florida

The homey Beacher's Lodge offers clean-up bags, a dog walk area and a guide to animal loving attractions. The St. Augustine Pet Walk Pup Crawl is a historic pub tour of downtown. Pets can explore Ponce de Leon's Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park as well as the Colonial Quarter and ride along on Ripley's Red Train Tours and St. Augustine Scenic Cruise. Meehan's Irish Pub and Seafood House's garden courtyard is welcoming to dogs and owners alike. Pet Paradise doggie resort has a bone-shaped pool.

Sun Valley, Idaho

The cozy Knob Hill Inn doles out a travel bowl, canine first aid kit, Ruff Bar, waste bags and an ID collar for use during your stay. Dogs are allowed on all hiking trails in Sun Valley. Two easy going options are Shadyside and Sunnyside at Adams Gulch in Ketchum. Families with dogs can also be found splashing around in Big Wood River and the scenic lakes near the Sawtooth Mountains, about 50 miles north of Ketchum. Galena Lodge has a doggie deck with bowls and picnic tables for taking a break or enjoying lunch. In the mood for Italian?
