Thoughts on the Destruction of American History!
President Donald Trump made a very interesting comment at a press conference this afternoon in regards to the tearing down of the Robert E. Lee statue. It was a rhetorical question. "What statue is next? Washington, Jefferson? They were slave owners. So do we erase them from history too? " President Trump makes a very good point. If we had responsible journalist who would open their eyes and see the madness! How can anyone learn from lessons of the past if people are hell bent on erasing it from our history. Mark Twain's book 'Huckleberry Finn' could be called a racist book," but you can also see it as a tribute to a runaway slave. The world was horrified when ISIS destroyed historical sites in the middle east. How can the systematic Destruction of our History be any different. We are cheating our future generations of the knowledge of are failures and successes in exchange for being politically correct. Giving future generations a sterilized version of history is truly dishonest and wrong!
