Paving begins Thursday, June 22, on State Route 87 north of Strawberry

Motorists traveling on State Route 87 between Lake Mary Road and Winslow (milepost 290 to 317) should allow extra time for travel beginning Thursday, June 22, while a chip seal project is underway. Construction is scheduled during daylight hours Mondays through Fridays and is scheduled for completion by early July.

SR 87 will be reduced to one lane with a pilot car guiding alternating traffic through the work zone. Expect delays up to 15 minutes or more. A 10-foot width restriction will also be in place during construction.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.

Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors. For more information, please call Coralie Cole, ADOT senior community relations officer, at 602.501.4899 or email Ccole@azdot.gov.

For real-time highway conditions statewide, visit ADOT's Traveler Information Site at www.az511.gov, follow ADOT on Twitter (@ArizonaDOT) or call 511, except while driving.
