Special Event to cause delays on SR 79 in Florence next week (April 6 - 11)

The Arizona Department of Transportation will be reducing the speed limit on State Route 79 in Florence (milepost 136) around the clock beginning 6 a.m. Wednesday (April 6) through 6 a.m. Monday (April 11) for the Country Thunder Music Festival which is expected to attract approximately 25,000 people.

The speed limit on SR 79 will be reduced to 25 mph and motorists will be stopped intermittently by law enforcement officials to allow traffic to flow and reduce congestion during the event.
  • Drivers should expect delays of up to 15 minutes.
  • Traffic control and law enforcement will direct traffic throughout the event.
