Improvements on State Route 92 between Fry Boulevard and Kachina Trail scheduled to begin in May

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following restrictions as a pavement-preservation project is scheduled to begin in mid-May on SR 92 between Fry Boulevard and Kachina Trail in Sierra Vista.

The $3.6 million project located in Cochise County includes milling and replacing the existing asphalt; applying a chip-seal coat; constructing a sidewalk, sidewalk ramps, curb and gutter; installing pavement markings and other related work.

Crews are scheduled to work from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

Shoulder and lane restrictions will be scheduled on SR 92, Fry Boulevard and Kachina Trail.

The speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph in the work zones.

Expect up to 30-minute delays.

Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment. For more information visit www.azdot.gov/SR92Fry2KachinaTrail
