Expect delays on State Route 86 (Ajo Way) between Kinney and Valencia roads for paving

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises Tucson-area drivers to plan for the following restriction for paving on SR 86 between Kinney and Valencia roads:

West- and eastbound SR 86 will be reduced to one lane (alternating lane closures) from Kinney Road to Valencia Road from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily from Friday, April 6, to Friday, April 20.

Intermittent traffic stops will be required for traffic control changes and trucks entering and leaving traffic flow at a variety of locations during asphalt concrete placement along the construction project.

Drivers should expect up to 10-minute delays.

Please proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction personnel and equipment.

The $40 million project is expected to be complete in fall 2018. Learn more on the project web site.
