TODAY IS

Emma Roberts turns 26 today. She's most famous for not being the Emma from the Harry Potter movies (and Julia Roberts' niece).
Yara Shahidi turns 17 today. You know her as Zoey from "Blackish." Or not.
Laura Dern ("Jurassic Park") turns the big 5-0 today, which is 95 in actress years.
ABC's George Stephanopoulos celebrates his 55th birthday.
  • He doesn't have a fan club because his name wouldn't fit on a t-shirt.
  • Yes, he was born back in 1961, the year of the great vowel shortage, and one look at his last name, and you know why.
  • Didn't he used to be on Sesame Street under the name Mr. Stephanopoulos?
  • He's the reason names aren't allowed in Monopoly. His uses up half the letters.

The Great White Shark, Greg Norman, shoots a 62 today, although he's putting down 59. His nickname in his prime was "the Great White Shark."
Olympic Gold Medalist Swimmer Mark Spitz turns 67 today. He tried the Winter Olympics one year, but the water was frozen.
Roberta Flack turns 80 today. She was the original singer of the song, "Killing me Softly." Her biggest hit was "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face." Every DJ's nightmare. The first time I heard that song, it was so slow I thought it was playing backwards.

Umbrella Day -- Is using an umbrella manly? Or not. Both men and women said the only time a man should use an umbrella is if he is escorting a woman to the door, or down the street. Otherwise its unmanly. According to Men's Health, only 25% of the average guys grab an umbrella when there's a 100% chance of rain. Also, many folks consider it a sign of aging if you carry an umbrella. Trivia: The first umbrella factory in the U.S. was in 1928.
