Overnight ramp closures planned at I-10/SR 587 interchange

Drivers should allow extra travel time, consider alternate routes

An Interstate 10 pavement-improvement project that includes the junction with State Route 587 (Casa Blanca Road) south of Chandler will require overnight ramp closures Monday, Sept. 18, and Tuesday, Sept. 19.

Drivers should allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes while the following restrictions are in place:

The east- and westbound Interstate 10 off-ramps at SR 587 will be closed overnight from 7 p.m.Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, for rubberized asphalt resurfacing. Both I-10 on-ramps at the SR 587 interchange will be restricted at times overnight.
The eastbound Interstate 10 off-ramp at SR 587 will be closed from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, for resurfacing. The eastbound I-10 on-ramp at SR 587 also will be restricted at times.

The westbound Interstate 10 off-ramp at SR 587 will be closed overnight from 7 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m.Wednesday, Sept. 20, for resurfacing. The westbound I-10 on-ramp at SR 587 also will be restricted at times.

Drivers can consider using alternate routes depending on their direction of travel and destination. Riggs Road will serve as one local alternate route. Other routes to consider include State Routes 87, 187 and/or 387. Drivers traveling beyond the Phoenix area on I-10 can avoid these restrictions by using I-8 and SR 85 instead.
