STAY ALERT ON A LONG DRIVE

Here are some tips to stay alert on a long drive.

Create discomfort

The best sleep environment is warm and cozy, so aim for the opposite, so aim for the opposite. Flip up armrests and adjust the seat to sit with your shoulders back. In winter, use the heater only around your feet. Crack a window to let in fresh air.

Snack smart

A pistachio-jerky-raisin combo provides satisfying protein without excessive carbs. Or for an on-the-go gut filler from mini mart supplies, stir up a tuna salad: a can of tuna, a packet or two of mayo, and some sunflower seeds and sliced grapes.

Break for breaks

To wake up your muscles, park the car and then grab the right side of the seat with your right hand. Reach over your head with your left arm to the top of your right ear. Pull to the left and hold for 15 seconds. Repeat on the other side.
