New Details Emerge About Russell Brand's Baby With Fiancee Laura Gallacher -- The Little One's Sex & Name! Russell Brand is the proud poppa of a baby girl! As we previously reported, the comedian and his fiancee Laura Gallacher welcomed their little one into the world sometime late last week after an under the radar pregnancy! And it seems the twosome have already named their new arrival as it's been reported Brand's daughter's moniker is Mabel. What sweetness! Not to mention, Laura's sister Kirsty Gallacher confirmed the sex of her niece when she took to Twitter on Wednesday and posted: Thanks for messages, proud to be an auntie for first time... well done to @DaisyPoppets & @rustyrockets. Sadly can't meet her 'til am well ?? -- Kirsty Gallacher (@TheRealKirstyG) November 9, 2016 Awwww! Still, we have a feeling Katy Perry's ex won't be rushing to announce his newborn's sex as he previously explained on The Jonathan Ross Show: "We don't know the gender. I may not even ever impose a gender upon it -- let the child grow up and be whatever the hell it is." Honestly, that's a smart parenting move. Also, the new parents have been pretty tightlipped about their latest addition. Although the Forgetting Sarah Marshall star DID let it slip his baby girl had finally arrived during a show on Sunday. Classic, Russell! (Perez Hilton)
They grow up so fast! Just ask proud mama Jamie-Lynn Sigler. "The best part of being a mom to a 3-year-old is just seeing him grow into his own person, especially now he's in school and becoming such an individual," the actress tells Us Weekly of son Beau with baseball player Cutter Dykstra. "Maybe things that I've instilled in him he's expressing out in the world. It's really cool to see the little boy he's becoming." Of course, that doesn't mean that motherhood is always a breeze. "The hard part is it's exhausting," she admits. "You're just so ready for them to go to sleep at the end of the day, but then once he goes to sleep I miss him!" Indeed, family comes first for this Sopranos alum, who's already busy gearing up for the holidays. "Since having my son, I want to create traditions for him that he will remember," says the star, 35. "I usually like to host. I'm a big cook!" And it's no stuffy affair here. "The holidays mean football because there is always a big game on," says Sigler, who even helped kick off the NFL's Holiday Gift Guide on November 3. "Our holidays are not dress up and go to the in-laws. It's literally come as you are, wear your most comfortable, stretchiest pants because we're gonna eat a lot of food. It revolves around the game and the kids, playing sports and watching sports." That suits Beau, already a real guy's guy, just fine. "He's such a little fan of sports, anytime you get him team apparel, he's so proud to wear it," says the New York native. Perhaps her greatest parenting achievement? "I made him a Giants fan!" Gigi Hadid Prefers Zayn Malik's Solo Music to One Direction. Gigi Hadid doesn't exactly think One Direction has the best songs ever. After sitting down for a chat with Jimmy Kimmel, the upcoming American Music Awards host dished on her personal music preferences, particularly while dating singer Zayn Malik. The supermodel and former boy band member have been dating for nearly a year, but in the years before calling the British crooner her beau, Hadid didn't really qualify as a "Directioner." "My stepdad was kind of a classical music producer," she told Kimmel of her mother Yolanda Hadid's ex-husband, legendary music producer and 16-time Grammy winner David Foster. "Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban...so that was the music that I was into," she explained. However, the Maybelline model tried to sound diplomatic. "I think we can all name a One Direction song that we like," she said to a silent audience. "But, maybe not." All in all, she'll take "Pillowtalk" over "Perfect" on most occasions. "I love Zayn Malik solo a lot more, I think," she added. Hadid has certainly contributed to some of her man's independent success. When Malik launched his debut solo single last year on the heels of their burgeoning relationship, the 21-year-old popped up in his steamy music video. "It was fun for us. We just started dating. It's cute to look back," she told E!'s Erin Lim about shooting the "Pillowtalk" video. "We were into each other and flirting the whole day." (Eonline)
After Prince Harry defended his new girlfriend Meghan Markle from what he called a "wave of abuse and harassment," Page Six has learned that the actress has asked for time off from filming her TV show. Insiders say the beauty has told her bosses that she needs to skip filming for her USA Network show "Suits" in Toronto this week because she has "something important to do." The reason for the absence is being kept a closely guarded secret, but insiders speculate that Markle is meeting with lawyers to help manage her turbulent and sudden rise to international fame. On Tuesday, Prince Harry -- the grandson of Queen Elizabeth -- released an unprecedented statement, lambasting the press and "social-media trolls" for hassling his paramour, whom he has been dating since the summer. A letter released by Kensington Palace on his behalf claims that there had been "racial undertones" in some of the coverage about the LA native -- who has one white parent and one African-American parent and describes herself as biracial -- and said she and her family had been hounded by reporters. "Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle's safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her," read the message posted on the royal family's Facebook page, "It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm." Insiders say Markle, who has starred on "Suits" for six years, may be struggling to come to terms with the overwhelming attention. "She comes across as just a regular girl," said a source, "She's stunning in person, but not everyone knew who she was. And she's everywhere now." Plus there have been painful headlines after her own sister described her as "shallow" in an interview with the UK Sun. Markle and Prince Harry reportedly met at a May event for his Invictus Games in Toronto and have been a couple since June. Reps for Markle didn't get back to us, and a rep for "Suits" declined to comment. (Page Six)
Billy Bob Thornton Says He "Never Felt Good Enough" for Angelina Jolie. Billy Bob Thornton is sharing new details about his short-lived, yet highly publicized (and uniquely eccentric) marriage to Angelina Jolie. In the November 2016 issue of GQ, the Bad Santa 2 star reveals that differing lifestyle choices ultimately led to their 2003 divorce. Jolie, then in her mid-20s, was named a U.N. Goodwill Ambassador in 2001, and over the next decade, would embark on more than 40 field missions to support refugees across the globe. Thornton, on the other hand, says he was more concerned with life at home. "I never felt good enough for her," he tells the mag, adding that it was never his style to indulge in the perks of A-list coupledom. "I'm real uncomfortable around rich and important people," the 61-year-old explains. Instead, Thornton never felt pressure to change, because as he puts it, "I like how I am." After their split, Billy Bob went on to marry his sixth wife, Connie Angland, with whom he shares a 12-year-old daughter named Bella. Jolie has six children of her own with ex Brad Pitt. Three months before Billy Bob and Angelina separated, the two announced they had applied to adopt a child from Cambodia. Jolie ultimately proceeded with the process as a single parent, officially adopting Maddox, now 15, in March 2002. Regardless of their breakup, Thornton says he and Jolie remain on good terms. In fact, Thornton admits the former lovebirds catch up every two months, and when they do, it's as if no time has passed. For more from Billy Bob, check out the November issue of GQ available on newsstands nationwide. (Eonline)
Drake Is Supposedly Showering Taylor Swift's Cats With Gifts! Drake seems to be doing everything right when it comes to Taylor Swift! Amid all the rumors these two are making MORE than just music together, a new report is saying the rapper has been showering the songstress with presents. Okay, well actually, her cats! One source revealed to Hollywood Life how the 30-year-old has basically spared no expense for Tay's kitties, Meredith and Olivia: "Drake knows the way to Taylor's heart and he's going for it in a big way. He stopped in PetCo and went buck wild on cat accessories for Taylor. He went all out." Can you imagine seeing Drake in a Petco?? And if that wasn't enough, the insider continued by adding Tay is getting a gift, too: "He's also preparing to send her this sick designer bag that she can put her cats in when she's traveling. It's Drake being Drake and his way of letting her know that she's good people and keeping her close to him. He knows how much she adores her cats and Drake wants her to know that he adores her just as much." What an interesting development! Of course, it doesn't confirm that the single artists are dating since he just seems to be the type to give people thoughtful gifts. Back in 2011, the Hotline Bling rapper gifted Chelsea Handler with pillows for her dog as a thanks for having him on Chelsea Lately. (Perez Hilton)
Julie Bowen is addressing rumors that she and her Modern Family costar Sofia Vergara are feuding with one another. On Wednesday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Bowen, 46, set the record straight about claims that she and her fellow leading lady are not seeing eye-to-eye. "Every now and again I get a call or you get an email that says, 'Well, so and so trash mag will be running a story that you -- and this week it was -- are icy to Sofia Vergara because you're jealous of her fame,' " Bowen told host Ellen DeGeneres. "So I email her last night and then we talk and I'm like, 'What should I say?' because we're friends. I'm like, 'What should I say? You're funny,' " she explained of reaching out to her ABC costar about addressing the rumor mill that has them at odds with one another. Vergara's answer? "Please, just borrow my blouse," Bowen said in a Vergara-inspired accent. "So, I'm borrowing her blouse," she continued of the purple, one-shoulder top. DeGeneres, who has been in the public eye for the past three decades, is no stranger to the spotlight, and questioned how "those people stay in business when they totally fabricate stories. They just make up whatever they make up." Bowen responded, "Well, you know it kept one of our candidates up there for a long time. I'm not going to name names but you don't have to have the truth anymore. You just have to have the internet. You can just make up anything." And before Bowen committed to her leading role in 2009 on the Emmy-winning comedy series, the mother of three contemplated backing out. "I almost didn't do it," Bowen revealed at the top of the interview. "I wanted to, but I was so pregnant with the twins during the audition that process and then would just bring me in and stare at my stomach -- I think that they maybe legally couldn't say like, 'What's that about?' And I think they thought I was so large that I was going to give birth at any minute and then I could do the show after, but instead they were just playing it very like, 'Mhmmm.'" "I'd go home and cry and think I'm never going to get this -- the greatest job in the world -- so I took myself out of first place for it, because there was another job that was auditioning where the lady was pregnant," Bowen continued. But when she realized how wonderful the opportunity could be on Modern Family, she did "some scrambling to get the job back." "I don't know what my life would be like right now," the actress said of the thought of not taking on her ABC character. The Ellen DeGeneres Show airs weekdays (3 p.m. ET) on NBC. (People)
Brad Pitt Officially Cleared in Child Abuse Investigation. Monday marked a huge victory for Brad Pitt in the fight for his six children with Angelina Jolie. E! News has learned that the actor has been cleared of child abuse allegations by the Los Angeles Country Department of Children and Family Services. TMZ first reported the news. The investigation, which ended earlier today, was initially underway due to an incident involving the Allied actor and his eldest son Maddox on a private airplane back on September 14 of this year. The DCFS found that Angelina's ex did not commit any child abuse during the incident. At the time of her filing for divorce, the Academy Award winner had asked for sole physical custody of the former couple's six children. However, last week, Brad filed for joint custody despite the ongoing investigation. On Monday, a spokesperson for Angelina released the following lengthy statement regarding the status of the couple's kids during their divorce proceedings: "The six children will stay in their mother's custody, and the children will continue therapeutic visits with their father. This has been determined by childcare professionals to be in the children's best interest." The statement continued, "We are not in a position to discuss the details. We hope now that it is clear that the events which led to the dissolution filing involved minor children and their well being, there will be understanding of the sensitivity of the family situation. We believe that all sides are committed to healing the family and ask for your consideration during this difficult time." Meanwhile, a separate source explains to us that the couple didn't "settle" on anything regarding their children and that there is no change in the status of their previous voluntary agreement. Brad has only seen his children twice since the Salt star filed for divorce, and Maddox for the first time just recently. Days after the filing, Brad broke his silence on the personal family matter with the following statement: "I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the wellbeing of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time." (Eonline)
Madonna says in a new court filing that a Central Park West co-op must have her confused with her 19-year-old model-daughter, Lourdes. The pop superstar sued 1 W. 64th St. in April after the board tried to ban her family and staff from being in the $7.3 million duplex when Madonna wasn't there. Madonna said in prior court filings that the building, known as Harperley Hall, "is a place I call home," although she said she also owns other "residences around the world." Until Wednesday, neither side had referenced exactly which member of Madonna's family and entourage stayed at the pad when she out of town. Then her attorney wrote to a Manhattan judge that Madonna was "entitled" to have her "adult daughter" live in the apartment she purchased in 2008. Court papers say the board illegally changed her original proprietary lease in 2014 to say that no one under the age of 16 could live in the apartment without an adult over age 21 present. Lourdes "Lola" Leon is Madonna's eldest child from one of her exes, personal trainer Carlos Leon. The singer also has a 16-year-old son, Rocco, and two little ones -- David Banda, 11, and Mercy James, 10. Lourdes launched her modeling career this year, posing in advertisements for Stella McCartney. She's also studying at the University of Michigan. Last year, Lourdes, then 18, was spotted chugging a beer at a stop on her mom's "Rebel Heart" tour in Detroit. The co-op board hasn't specifically complained about Lourdes while defending the suit. Madonna's lawyer, Stuart Shaw, accuses the board of trying to "harass and intimidate" his famous client, calling the strict requirements absurd, and saying they mean she would have to boot guests even if she stepped out to go to the market. He asked the court to define "in residence" and decide whether Madonna's use of the apartment fits the definition. "Plaintiff is a world-renowned recording artist, performer and singer who is constantly on world tours," her Madgesty argues in the suit, explaining why she's often away from home. (Page Six)
THE OTHER STUFF . . .
Prince Harry Seen for the First Time Since Confirming Relationship With American Actress Meghan Markle. As his romance with Meghan Markle blossoms, Prince Harry is all smiles. Just two days after issuing a public statement simultaneously confirming his relationship with the Suits actress and calling for her privacy, he arrived at the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey on Thursday for his first official royal event since the news broke. The field is an annual memorial garden where people can place wooden tokens decorated with poppies to honor members of the armed forces who were killed in action. Alongside his grandfather Prince Philip and dressed in a Household Division black embellished coat and cap, the 32-year-old British royal appeared to be in high spirits during the event as he mingled with veterans and met with a 6-year-old boy whose uncle was killed while serving in the Royal Artillery in Afghanistan in 2008. "We remember Aaron every day and miss him every day. It was lovely to speak to Prince Harry about Aaron," the boy's mother told reporters on the scene. "A charity set up in his memory is helping veterans that have been injured, both combat injuries and those with post-traumatic stress disorder...our charity has even helped some of the guys that competed in Harry's Invictus Games and we were talking about that." In addition to founding the Paralympic-style Invictus Games in 2014, Prince Harry also served in two tours of duty in Afghanistan during his time in the British armed forces. While Princess Diana's younger son remained focused on the cause of the day, his private relationship with Markle has been a topic on everyone's mind since Kensington Palace issued its lengthy statement on Tuesday. While the two have been subtly seeing each other for just a few months already, a source tells E! News an engagement may not be so far away. "It wouldn't surprise me if he's already thinking about engagement just because that's where his head goes but that's not where the relationship is at right now," the source said. "This is totally Harry. The problem with Harry is when he falls, he falls hard. He goes in big time." "Meghan would say it's serious too, both of them do think that way," the source added. Perhaps Prince Harry will be arriving to royal events with a plus one soon. (Eonline)
Kendall Jenner Models Feminist Lingerie for La Perla. Kendall Jenner is embracing her feminine side in La Perla's latest campaign. Wearing looks from the Spring 2017 collection, Jenner -- plus fellow supermodels Isabeli Fontana and Liu Wen -- poses for photographer Steven Klein. Art director Fabien Baron came up with the ads' concept: "The liberation of every woman from the need to suffer for beauty." La Perla's creative director, Julia Haart, designed the three models' looks. Fontana, Jenner and Wen posed amid iconic feminist imagery, including a burning bra, a corset and shattered glass. Haart, who assumed her role in August, personally selected Jenner "to interpret the highly innovative path that the brand has set out on," a spokesperson said Wednesday. "Kendall's contemporary charisma adds an unmistakable touch to every garment, simultaneously highlighting the modernity and the relaxed, self-assured elegance of each piece she wears." A spokesperson for the Italian label also said the ad campaign was "broken down into a series of images full of intense colors that focus on the luxury of the silks and the exclusive fabrics." The goal, La Perla said, was to "represent the soul not only of the lingerie garments, but also of the new ready-to-wear collection, which has marked Julia Haart's arrival as creative director." Haart, who succeeded Brazilian wunderkind Pedro Lourenço, explained her vision two months ago in an interview with Vogue. "What we're trying to do with this ready-to-wear collection is to bring something newer to the market. I think women want a new choice, and what I mean by that is I think women have been told their entire lives that you have to suffer for beauty," Haart told the magazine. "Well, I don't believe in that, and I would like to give women a new choice." Haart was tasked with revamping the 62-year-old label. "I love that La Perla has this sexy, sensual kind of image, and I certainly would never want to change La Perla's DNA. My idea is that you can embrace your femininity and it doesn't have to be only in your undergarments," the creative director said. "If you're wearing a suit, a dress, it should be molded to a female form while still being professional, beautiful, chic, elegant -- one does not negate the other." (Eonline)
Legendary actor and producer Kirk Douglas has received an early 100th birthday present -- an award from the World Jewish Congress for his strong support for Israel including starring in the first Hollywood feature film shot in the newly established nation. Ronald Lauder, the organization's president, said Douglas, who was born Issur Danielovitch on Dec. 9, 1916, was "always proud of his Jewish roots." He pointed to Douglas' starring roles as a Holocaust survivor in the 1953 movie "Juggler" which was filmed in Israel and as Jewish U.S. Army Col. David "Mickey" Marcus, who helped save the Jewish state in 1948, in the 1966 movie "Cast A Giant Shadow." Oscar-winning actor and producer Michael Douglas accepted the award, telling more than 400 guests at a dinner at the Pierre Hotel that his father would be "so proud and so humbled," especially since the award is the first honoring the late Jerusalem Mayor Teddy Kollek, his longtime friend. Douglas said his father's connection to Israel goes back to his childhood, and his dream is to see the country "peaceful and successful," a place where Arabs and Jews can live together. At the dinner, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden received an award named for Theodor Herzl, the founder of modern political Zionism who came to champion the quest for a Jewish homeland. The award was presented by former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who said Biden "stands for the principles that will ensure survival of the Jewish people and the state of Israel." Biden said he was certain U.S. support for Israel would not diminish under President-elect Donald Trump. Even if the new administration tried to reduce support, "Congress would never let it happen, the American people would never let it happen." (Page Six)
Lauren Conrad can't keep her guests out of the kitchen. "No matter where I'm trying to entertain, everybody always ends up in the kitchen," the fashion designer and lifestyle maven tells Good Housekeeping in the mag's December issue. "I try to drag them to other rooms. I'm like, 'Come on guys, I've decorated this whole room,' but they don't care. They're like, 'The cheese platter is here.'" Although she's been known to pull out all the stops for her perfectly Pinterest-worthy gatherings, the former Hills star keeps things refreshingly laid-back when it comes to her everyday outings with husband William Tell, 36. "When William and I go on a date, it's pretty casual," she says. "We have a local sushi place that we really like to go to. I love a place that you don't have to put makeup on to go to. You can just go, have a glass of wine, eat dinner, and have a really relaxing night. Those are our favorite nights because we have busy days." Planning a night out might be easy for the couple, but putting together their blended home was a little trickier. "When we got our first place together, I definitely had to learn to compromise," she says, adding that the change was good for her. "I think he's toned down my girly a little bit, which is good because I'm an adult and everything can't be pink. It's fun." With two successful clothing lines, one might assume that Conrad would dress to the nines during the holiday season. But on Christmas morning you'll find the 30-year-old sporting just one statement piece: PJs. "One of my favorite new traditions, which is from my husband William's family, is going over on Christmas morning in our pajamas," Conrad says. "It's really sweet -- his mom drops off a set for me so we'll all match." For more details on Conrad's holidays at home, pick up this issue of Good Housekeeping, on newsstands November 15. (People)

Chris Pratt & Jennifer Lawrence Embarrass Themselves In Front Of Ellen DeGeneres! See The Boob Sweat Talk & Cher Impressions! Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence have begun their press tour for the sci-fi romance film Passengers, and they're putting their best foot forward. Wait, did we say best? We meant the other thing... The stars stopped by to talk to Ellen DeGeneres and couldn't help but bring up J.Law's terrible (but constant) Cher impression and Chris' boob sweat -- sorry, moob sweat. Oh, and the fact that Jen complains about everything all the time. Is there such a thing as being too self-deprecating?? (Perez Hilton)
French Montana got cake for his birthday, even before his party, when his gf, Iggy Azalea, invited him to climb on board ... a helicopter. French celebrated his 32nd with the chopper ride to a waiting yacht in Marina Del Rey ... which he had no idea was filled with about 60 of his closest friends. Diddy, Drake, Cassie and Amber Rose were there for the surprise. The bash was a little Kardashian-esque -- it included an offshore fireworks show, much like the one Khloe threw for James Harden's bday. French and co. won't have the same problems though ... we're told they secured Coast Guard permission and the shells were launched in international waters. Plus, we're guessing French would say he had better cake. (TMZ)
Gigi Hadid Defends Tommy Hilfiger & The Whole Poncho Debacle -- 'Tommy Loved My Curves'. The poncho controversy lives on! Gigi Hadid recently appeared on Access Hollywood to address the fact that she was deemed not thin enough or tall enough for the Tommy Hilfiger runway presentation in February 2015, so she was put in an oversized poncho as a result. She defended the designer, saying that he was rooting for her all the way: "Tommy was rooting for me and... regardless of what the stylist of that season said or what he put me in, Tommy wanted me in the show, and Tommy was pushing for me and Tommy loved my curves. The next season I wore a bikini on the same runway with the same stylist of the show that had previously put me in a poncho. So, I think you learn and that's something that I think that brands had to become more accepting of because it was proven after that show that it was the best-selling [piece]." It's true! The poncho went on to become a big hit because Gigi was wearing it, and it's what prompted Tommy to ask her to co-design a line with him. In a way, everything turned out great, but it's still ridiculous that the supermodel wasn't considered thin enough and had to have her body hidden in what is basically a high-end version of a tent. Tsk tsk! But we suppose the 21-year-old kind of has to defend her boss, otherwise things would be hella awkward. (Perez Hilton)
Bethenny Frankel has always been outspoken during her time on The Real Housewives of New York City. But her strong opinions might have gotten her in trouble with fans. As thousands of Hillary Clinton supporters took to the streets across the country to protest President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday night, the 46-year-old reality star took to Twitter to slam those demonstrating. "Crazy to bully and badger over the election," she wrote. "We and the media nominated them and we had the right to vote for either. "This protesting is moronic," Frankel continued. "What is the government going to say? 'Just kidding. Do over?' " While she incorrectly stated that Trump had won the state of New York -- a point she later clarified -- Frankel's frustration with the protests seemed to be around the violence of the protests. "People are burning flags This is not a joke," she said -- telling a fan that peaceful protests were "not happening in New York City right now." "She won New York so no reason to burn our city to the ground," she added. "Cursing and screaming and fighting and burning flags is not productive right now... I'm sorry -- processing grief and frustration is one thing. This is another." Frankel also criticized a commenter who backed the angry voters, explaining to the Skinnygirl mogul that she might not understand the protester's feelings as "multimillionaire white women haven't exactly been the focus of [Trump's] vitriol for over a year." "You look mighty white to me," she told him. Ultimately, Frankel took her own classic RHONY advice and went to sleep -- celebrating a peaceful transition of power by snuggling with her 6-year-old daughter Bryn and her two new rescue dogs. "Snuggling with my peanut and my puppies tonight is my peaceful transition," she said. Anti-Trump protesters swarmed the streets of several major U.S. cities on Wednesday night following Tuesday's election. New York City, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Seattle, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Atlanta and several other cities saw major turnout from protesters who opposed the outcome of the election. In New York, protestors began in Union Square, then marched up Fifth Avenue to Trump Tower, where the President-elect lives. By late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning the number of protesters in the Big Apple rose to about 100,000 -- and were likely to last through the night. (People)
Billy Bush is continuing to stir up election controversy. The disgraced TV host -- who got booted from "Today" following his role in the infamous Donald Trump "grab 'em by the p -- y" tape -- raised eyebrows early Wednesday when he posted a spin on Hillary Clinton's campaign slogan, "I'm with her," to social media. A few hours before Trump's victory was announced, Bush, 45, shared a photo of his family posing with a poll worker, which he curiously captioned, "We're with her. Thanks Teri, running a great show tonight. Thanks to ALL volunteers." Fans immediately began speculating that the "We're with her" message was a show of support for the Democratic candidate. "Please tell me you are not voting for 'her,'" one Instagram user wrote, while another person posted thumbs-ups and clapping emojis with the comment, "Hillary ... yes!" Bush later clarified his photo caption by adding the comment, "I'm with Teri... volunteered and ran our polling place all day." A rep for Bush told Page Six the TV personality would not comment on whom he voted for or the election results. Bush is the first cousin of former Trump opponent Jeb Bush as well as former President George W. Bush, who reportedly didn't cast a vote for Clinton or Trump and left the presidential line on his ballot blank. Some fuming Billy Bush fans also peppered his Wednesday Instagram post with comments like, "Why is Billy Bush out of NBC for what he listened to but Trump is elected president after all is has said and done. Colin Kaepernick, the San Francisco 49ers quarterback who has refused to stand for the national anthem since the beginning of the NFL football season, told reporters on Election Day that he was not going to vote. In the opinion of ESPN's Stephen A. Smith, the 29-year-old quarterback "betrayed his cause" by neglecting to support a candidate. "He comes across as a flaming hypocrite," Smith fumed on Wednesday's edition of First Take. "And as far as I'm concerned, I'm not interested in a damn word that he has to say, and quite frankly, I hope he goes away. He's lucky to be in the league right now." The commentator went on to say Kaepernick's inaction was "shameful" following the football player's headline-grabbing protest that gained support as well as provoked death threats. Kaepernick told reporters earlier in the year that he will refuse to stand until there is a "significant change" in the oppression of people due to their race in the country. However, he seemed to think that neither President-elect Donald Trump or his opponent Hillary Clinton would have made a difference. "To me, it didn't really matter who went in there," Kaepernick told reporters Wednesday, according to USA Today. "The system still remains intact that oppresses people of color." Kaepernick spoke out against both candidates after the first presidential debate, according to the outlet. "It was embarrassing to watch that these are our two candidates," Kaepernick said. "Both are proven liars, and it almost seems like they're trying to debate who's less racist. And at this point ... you have to pick the lesser of two evils. But in the end, it's still evil." (People)
Donald Trump is getting a massive security blanket, courtesy of the FAA ... so the NYC building where he lives and works does not fall victim to terrorists flying airplanes. Pilots have been ordered to stay clear of the 68-story building on 5th Ave. The FAA has deemed a 2-nautical mile radius a protected area. We're told the FAA imposed the restriction almost immediately after Trump was declared the winner. No doubt the tragedy down the road on Sept. 11, 2001 weighed in on the FAA's decision. The restrictions apply until January 21, 2017, the day after Inauguration. Same goes for Veep Mike Pence's home in Indiana ... there's now a 1-nautical mile radius airspace restriction. And something else is in play. Trump has his own Boeing 757 ... something out of financial reach of most President-elects. The FAA and Secret Service are managing restrictions for Trump's plane during takeoff, flight and landing ... but the restrictions are secret. (TMZ)
Celebs were out in full force at anti-Donald Trump protests Wednesday night. T.I., Meek Mill, Mark Ruffalo and 'SNL' star Taran Killam all put their mugs on cam during the show of un-support in NYC. The crowd marched through Times Square, shouting "F*** Trump" and "We reject the President-elect!" Ruffalo brought his daughter to the "Love Trumps Hate" rally in front of Trump Towers on 5th Ave. Madonna shared street view footage on her Instagram but didn't show face. Around 65 protesters were arrested for disorderly conduct in NYC. Cops arrested 28 protesters in L.A., and 5 were thrown in the slammer in Chi-town. (TMZ)
A Chicago man was dragged out of his car and bashed in the head in broad daylight ... all because the attackers thought he voted for Donald Trump. The video is shocking ... the white man took several shots to the head from several African-American men on Wednesday afternoon. Onlookers recorded the attack and yelled, "Don't vote Trump!" and "Beat his ass!" The man made several attempts to get back in his car, even as one of the suspects drove it away ... with the man still clinging to it. Chicago PD tells us the victim was hospitalized. They have not made any arrests, and the victim's car has still not been recovered. (TMZ)

Katy Perry Cancels Concert in China Due to Family Emergency. Katy Perry will no longer headline Alibaba's kick-off concert to mark Singles Day in China Friday. The 32-year-old "Rise" singer apologized to fans via Weibo Wednesday. "Regretfully, I must cancel my appearance on the Alibaba Double 11 due to a family emergency," Perry told her followers. "I am very sorry to disappoint my fans and look forward to seeing you in China soon." Soccer player David Beckham will take Perry's place at the event. Alibaba named Perry a "global ambassador" in October, and the pop star was set to appear in Shenzhen alongside NBA player Kobe Bryant and the band OneRepublic at the company's gala. Singles Day is an online shopping event in China. Billions were spent last year using Alibaba's payment service, Alipay -- far more than the U.S.A.'s Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined. It's been a tough week for Perry, a well-known Hillary Clinton supporter. Before all the votes tallied on Election Night, she addressed a crowd in New York, saying, "What a great country this is, that gives us the freedom to express our differences, our opinions, our hopes and our fears." After revealing that her own parents voted for Donald Trump, she shared a message of unity. "You know what? We will still all be sitting at the same table for Thanksgiving. And this is the moment we need to remember that we all love our parents, and we all love our children, and I can rest easy knowing that both of my young nieces at home will never see themselves less than equal, anything other than equal," she said. "So, remember: Today is not just a finish line." "It also marks the beginning of all the work we must come together to do. We need everyone -- gay, straight, black, white, brown, spray-tanned, people of faith and people that just love," Perry said. "Let's sing a song of unity. Let's be one nation indivisible -- with a kickass president." Perry was also scheduled to appear as part of Stephen Colbert's live Showtime election special that evening. However, a source told Billboard that the "Roar" singer's segment was pre-taped. After the election results were in, however, the TV special's producers decide not to air the bit. Trump was voted the 45th President of the United States, defeating Clinton in a stunning upset, so Perry rallied her Twitter followers to build upon the foundation Clinton laid. In a series of tweets, the singer wrote, "WE WILL NEVER BE SILENCED. THE REVOLUTION IS COMING. RISE UP. POWER TO THE PEOPLE. WE WILL NEVER BE SILENCED. #LOVETRUMPSHATE. Do not sit still. Do not weep. MOVE. We are not a nation that will let HATE lead us. Fight for what is RIGHT." Late Wednesday, Perry encouraged her 94 million Twitter followers to "PEACEFULLY PROTEST." Perry previously performed at the Democratic National Convention. In addition to filming a Funny or Die video encouraging people to vote, Perry often championed Clinton social media. (Eonline)
Subway Rider Got an Entire Train Singing and Dancing to Shakira's "La Bicicleta." When can we get on a train like this? In Madrid a train full of strangers began dancing and singing together (like in a movie) to Shakira and Carlos Vives' "La Bicicleta" and it was all caught on video for our viewing pleasure. It all started when an artist onboard began to sing the hit track and a group of girls began to sing along. The man then handed over the microphone to them. At first, we notice that most of the people on the train just look at what was happening, and others just got off to head to their destination, but suddenly things took a turn. Then little by little people started joining in on the singing and dancing. The man that filmed the video even found himself on the other side of the camera dancing with the rest of the crowd. The moment caught Shakira's eye, and she shared the user's video with her fans on Facebook. "'I was in that car, and I had a great time. I got off the train smiling.' The passenger's words and moments like these are what make music make sense! Carlos Vives Shak," she signed the post. The video already has almost 5 million views and it's a perfect example of some pretty cool things that can happen in everyday moments. (Eonline)
The Chainsmokers Take 'Setting Fires' Literally in New Lyric Video. Any time a clip starts with a warning against trying these stunts at home, you know you're in for something cool. This time around, it's flaming skateboards and raging ollies. The Chainsmokers probably need that warning, because any teenager who sees the "Setting Fires" lyric video is apt to think playing with fire is the coolest thing ever. Tattooed, beautiful men and women play with fire in every way imaginable. It's the ultimate pyro experience, all the while the lyrics burn across the screen both figuratively and literally. Paul McCartney Pays Back 'Black Beatles' Favor With Mannequin Challenge. He and Slim Jxmmi related. You knew Sir Paul wasn't gonna sit this one out forever. After the RaeSremmurd-inspired Mannequin Challenge -- an Internet craze of videos showing all participants freezing in place, most often set to the sounds of the ATL duo's "Black Beatles" -- swept up everyone from Steph Curry to Hillary Clinton, it was only a matter of time before the original Cute Beatle got in on the fun. Indeed, Paul McCartney joined the party Nov. 10, in a video posted to his Twitter account with the accompanying text "Love those Black Beatles #MannequinChallenge." In the clip, Macca stands by his grand piano, one hand tickling the ivories and the other reached out, seemingly in mid-song rapture. As the camera pans around him, you can probably guess which line from Rae Sremmurd's current top 10 hit blares out: "Black Beatle, bitch/ Me and Paul McCartney related!" (Billboard)
Fat Joe & Remy Ma Make It Rain with Slow Jam 'Money Showers' Feat. Ty Dolla $ign: Premiere. After whipping up the turn-up anthems "All The Way Up" and "Cookin'," Fat Joe and Remy Ma slow down the tempo for the R&B-tinged jam "Money Showers" with special guest Ty Dolla $ign, premiering on Billboard Nov. 10. On the Cool & Dre-produced track, Rem and Joe gloat about their riches and bedroom game as Ty throws in his signature "Ooh yeah!" ad-lib and croons, "You gotta understand that a n---a run the town every time I'm in the city." "'Money Showers' to me means being bestowed with an unlimited amount of everything; an excess of everything whether materialistic, emotional, sexual -- like total ecstasy," Remy tells Billboard. "Working with Ty is cool. This the second song I've been on with him, the first being Dej Loaf's "Try Me" remix. He's so smooth." Joey Crack adds of Sir Dolla $ign, "It was an honor and pleasure working with someone I'm so close to as a friend, who I also have tremendous respect for as an artist. I'm proud of this song." Fifty Shades Darker Gets R Rating for Sexual Content and Graphic Nudity. It looks like Fifty Shades Darker has dodged the NC-17 rating, much like the first flick Fifty Shades of Grey. The highly anticipated sequel of the blockbuster hit has just been given an R rating for, well, "strong erotic sexual content, some graphic nudity and language," according to the MPAA issued statement. The upcoming flick will see Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan return to the big screen once again as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. Eric Johnson, Bella Heathcote, Luke Grimes, Marcia Gay Harden, Robin Lee, Hugh Dancy, Rita Ora, Elena Lincoln, Kim Basinger, Fay Masterson and Eloise Mumford are all also signed on for the film. Fifty Shades Darker is slated for a Feb. 10, 2017 release date, making it just a few days shy of the first film's Valentine's Day weekend debut. Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and author E.L. James have all retuned to serve as producers. Back in early September, the first trailer for the movie was released and teased everything from masquerade parties, steamy sex scenes and fireworks (figuratively and literally). And while the first trailer for Fifty Shades of Grey featured a scaled back, haunting acoustic version of Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" -- sung by the Grammy winner herself -- this time around fans were treated to Miguel laying down the tracks to the famous single. Zendaya Debunks Rumors About Her Spider-Man: Homecoming Character. Zendaya hears all you Spider-Man fans making predictions about the upcoming installment...and she can't help but laugh. The 20-year-old actress has been rumored to be playing Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man: Homecoming, but she's not quite ready to announce whether that's true just yet. In fact, she chatted with The Hollywood Reporter about all the speculation surrounding the film and continued to play coy regarding her role. "People are going to react over anything," she explained. "But nothing is fact. It's like, you guys are just making s--t up at this point and then reacting to it. Whenever we were on set, one of us gets some random character name [on the call sheet]." She continued, "[Bloggers were] like, 'Oh they must be so and so.' And we just crack up about it, because it's like, 'Whatever you want to think. You'll find out.' It's funny to watch the guessing game." However, she still gave fans a couple details to chew on in order to satiate their hunger for more info. She denied her role as being Peter Parker (Tom Holland)'s love interest, and instead explained, "My character is not romantic. My character is like very dry, awkward, intellectual and because she's so smart, she just feels like she doesn't need to talk to people, like, 'My brain is so far ahead of you that you're just not really on my level.' So she comes off very weird." She added, "But to me, she is very cool because she's deep. She's always thinking about something, always reading." Well, we'll just have to see for ourselves when Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theaters July 7, 2017. (Eonline)
'Valerian': Watch the First Trailer for Luc Besson's Sci-Fi Epic. The film stars Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne. Luc Besson is ready to take moviegoers to Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. The filmmaker has debuted the first trailer for his adaptation of the 1960s-era French comic book. The film earned major buzz at San Diego Comic-Con for its eye-popping visuals. The film stars Dane DeHaan as the time-traveling hero Valerian and Cara Delevingne as his love interest and partner, Laureline. For Besson, it's been a long journey. He's been a fan of the material since he was ten, and has dreamt of making a movie about the film since 1997's The Fifth Element. But movie technology wasn't there yet. "When I saw Avatar for the first time, I took the script for Valerian and threw it in the garbage," he told reporters at New York Comic Con. "It was not of that level. It's like you watched Usain Bolt and thought, 'OK, I'm not going to go into the Olympics. ... I want to be behind Usain Bolt, but I want him to look at me. I was depressed -- happy for [James Cameron], but depressed for me. But I'm happy now, because it's better. I was right to throw it out." The trailer features The Beatles song "Because," which is the first master from the legendary band to ever be licensed for use in a trailer. There are some fantastical aliens in this trailer -- but don't get too attached to them. On Thursday, he participated in a Facebook Live chat to debut the trailer, where he revealed that in the sequel to the film, all-new aliens will be featured. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets opens July 21, 2017. (Hollywood Reporter)

Box-Office Preview: 'Arrival,' 'Almost Christmas' Brave Post-Presidential Election Waters. Holdover superhero tentpole 'Doctor Strange' and animated family film 'Trolls' are projected to beat both new offerings and retain the top two spots on the box-office chart. Denis Villeneuve's critically acclaimed sci-fi adventure Arrival and year-end holiday comedy Almost Christmas will test the post-presidential election waters this weekend, although both are likely to lose to holdovers Doctor Strange and Trolls in terms of sheer votes. Arrival, starring Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner, is projected to open in the mid- to high-teens when launching at the North American box office this weekend. During the Cannes Film Festival in 2014, the studio plunked down $20 million for North American rights to the adult drama, which was produced and financed by FilmNation, Lava Bear and 21 Laps. As a way of comparison, Paramount insiders note that Steven Spielberg's adult drama Bridge of Spies, starring Tom Hanks, opened to $15 million in October 2015 on its way to grossing $72 million domestically. In the film, Adams plays a linguist with uncanny talents who is recruited by the U.S. military to communicate with aliens. Forest Whitaker, Michael Stuhlbarg and Mark O'Brien also star in Arrival, which cost $47 million to make. Almost Christmas, the first year-end holiday comedy of 2016, is tipped to open in the low- to mid-teens for Universal and prolific producer Will Packer. The ensemble movie, targeting African-American audiences, stars Danny Glover as a patriarch who asks his family for just one gift -- to all get along. Kimberly Elise, Omar Epps, Romany Malco, Mo'Nique, Nicole Ari Parker, J.B. Smoove, Gabrielle Union, Jessie Usher and DC Young Fly round out the cast. EuropaCorp's thriller Shut In, starring Naomi Watts, also opens nationwide, but isn't expected to do notable business. (It was originally scheduled to open in December 2015.) Nor is the forecast looking good for Ang Lee's Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, which Sony opens in New York and Los Angeles this weekend, making a nationwide play on Nov. 18. (At the 11th hour, the studio switched up its release plans for the moody modern-day war drama, which had been set to open everywhere this weekend.) In a bold move, Lee used a groundbreaking combination of 4K resolution and 3D at 120 frames-per-second, which is five times the standard speed. However, theaters don't yet have the necessary projectors to show the film, save for locations in New York City and L.A. By all accounts, Marvel and Disney's latest superhero sensation, Doctor Strange, should easily top the box office in its second weekend with as much as $40 million, while DreamWorks Animation and Fox's Trolls is projected to hold at no. 2. Isobel is described as "warm, friendly and genuine." She's more likable and compassionate towards others, the opposite of her sister. Reynolds recently finished work on Delicious, a drama for Sky One. David Berry was previously cast in the key role of Lord John William Grey. Other cast additions include Cesar Domboy, who was cast as the older version of Fergus, the French pickpocket who Jamie and Claire took under their wing in season two, and Lauren Lyle as Marsali, one of Laoghaire's (Nell Hudson) young daughters. Sharna Burgess Returning to Dancing With the Stars for Semi-Finals After "Tough" 2 Weeks. She's back, babies! Sharna Burgess is off the Dancing With the Stars sidelines and returning to the dance floor with IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe for the Monday, Nov. 14 show. The two have been rehearsing after a knee injury sidelined Sharna. Professional dancer Jenna Johnson competed with James in her place. "The last two weeks were really tough, but certainly worth the wait and getting healthy," Sharna told E! News in an exclusive statement. "And now I can officially say I am back! I am feeling great and so excited to be back dancing with James this week! It has been amazing to watch him deliver such great performances these past two weeks, but I am so excited to be back in for the semi-finals and take James to the finale!!" Under Jenna, James received a perfect score during Halloween Night and nines across the board for Showstoppers Night. Their competition in the semi-finals includes Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy, Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lindsay Arnold, Terra Jole and Sasha Farber, and Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko. After James and Jenna received a perfect score for their Viennese waltz on Halloween Night, Sharna praised to the two. "It was amazing, honestly," she said. "I'm incredibly proud of both of them." Her knee injury could have sidelined her for up to six weeks, but she's back on the dance floor thanks to care. "The trick is to really find the best treatment available and that's what I did. I made the really difficult choice to leave James for three days, go to Ohio and sought out the best available treatment in the country and as a result I'm healing quicker than ever," Sharna told us after Halloween Night. "I really do plan on being back next Monday. If these doctors tell me I can't, apparently I have to listen to them. And if it's not next Monday it will be on the one after that. Oh, I'm back." Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays, 8 p.m. on ABC. (Eonline)
American Horror Story: Roanoke: Who Is the Final Survivor? Well, if you thought Wednesday night's American Horror Story was going to be a welcome respite from everything else happening in the world right now, you would be very wrong. You have also probably never seen American Horror Story before. Pretty much everybody is dead now, and when we say that, we mean it. Lee is now officially the only survivor of Roanoke (as far as we know), and she is officially the last person we wanted to survive. First, she murdered her ex-husband. Then, the crazy witch gave her a heart to eat and turned her into a butcher, sending her off to murder her own friends. So yeah, Lee's bad news, and we're pretty upset about the fact that she's the last one standing. In some better news, Taissa Farmiga and Jacob Artist made their debuts Wednesday night. And then in more bad news, they died, and they died bad. Real bad. This season has officially made its way into torture porn territory, and we're conflicted about it. Farmiga and Artist, along with Jon Bass, played some kids who were big fans of My Roanoke Nightmare and had decided, like stupid idiots, to visit the house on a blood moon for the purposes of posting it on social media. This was, as we said, a stupid and idiotic thing to do. First, they found Sidney's assistant, who was bleeding and confused, and then dead in her car, and then nowhere at all. They called the police, but the police believed they were just doing some sort of stupid prank, so the kids got even stupider and went back to the house. This time, they ran into the newly butchery Lee, who butchered Jacob Artist. Then, they found their way into the production trailer, where they very slowly figured out what was going on, thanks to the monitors. Meanwhile, Dylan (Wes Bentley) arrived at the house and explained that he had been told by Sidney to get there at that time to shake things up. Audrey and Lee explained that everybody was dead, and hoped to god that he had a car. Unfortunately, he had Ubered, and we got a quick but weirdly hilarious shot of him sitting in an Uber with the pig mask on. (The Uber gag has been so good. If only they got to use it more than twice...) Dylan, Audrey, and Lee then headed back to the Polks' place in order to get weapons, a car, and Monet (as well as Lee's confession to killing her husband). Once there, they got the weapons, Monet, and the evidence, but Dylan was killed while trying to steal the car and Lee got left behind as Audrey and Monet made it back to the house. While they watched the footage of Lee confessing to murder, Lee met the witch in the woods. After she killed Jacob Artist, she headed to the house, throwing Monet over a balcony and then pushing Audrey off of the cellar ladder to her presumed death at the bottom. Elsewhere, the colonists caught up with the other two kids, and we don't even want to talk about what they did to them. It involved a big stick and some fire, and we hated every minute of watching it happen onscreen. Just horrifying. The next morning, the cops showed up to find almost everyone dead. They first recovered Lee, who freaked out and started screaming, before then finding Audrey. But then Audrey saw Lee, and pulled out a gun, and so all of the officers pulled out their guns and shot Audrey down, which means Lee is all we've got left in this mess. In the promo for next week's finale, Sarah Paulson returns as season two's Lana Winters to interview "one of the most provocative and polarizing figures of our time." To say we can't wait for that would be an understatement! American Horror Story: Roanoke airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on FX. (Eonline)
Nailed it! Peyton Manning arrived to the L.A. set of "Modern Family" Wednesday -- where he'll be acting next to another guy who bragged about scoring 4 TDs in 1 game (#PolkHighFootballRules). Manning is playing a sports tutor on the show -- and will be working with the toddler son of Jay (Ed O'Neil) and Gloria (Sofia Vergara). The ex-QB is only slated to appear in 1 episode -- but if it goes well, you never know what could happen next. Plus, he's got a ton of free time these days ... (TMZ)
'South Park' Quickly Reworked for Donald Trump's Victory. Since last season, the show's Trump character has been represented by Mr. Garrison (referred to as "Giant Douche"). His running mate is Caitlyn Jenner. It seems Matt Stone, Trey Parker and their crew were hard at work reconstructing Wednesday night's new South Park episode to reflect Donald Trump becoming the 45th president-elect. Originally, it appeared the show anticipated a Hillary Clinton victory, reflected in the episode's teaser and then title, "The Very First Gentleman," released Monday. But, since South Park is turned around so quickly, it is able to be more topical than any other sitcom on TV. So after Trump won, the title of the episode was changed to "Oh, Jeez," and some of the lines said in the teaser for a Clinton victory were also changed. Bill Clinton was still in the episode, as foretold in the original trailer. Since last season, the show's Trump character has been represented by Mr. Garrison (referred to as "Giant Douche"). His running mate is Caitlyn Jenner. A second teaser came out Wednesday ahead of the show's airing, which addressed the Trump victory. (Hollywood Reporter)
'Big Bang Theory' to 'Goldbergs': What's Behind TV's Spinoff Trend. With so few new series delivering big ratings, pressure to keep hits going is growing. In the era of dwindling mass-audience TV hits, networks will do just about anything to keep bankable franchises going. So it's no surprise that CBS would want a spinoff of The Big Bang Theory, TV's No. 1 comedy in the key adults 18-to-49 demo (5.5 rating) and broadcast's most watched program (20 million weekly viewers). The network is teaming with Big Bang co-creators Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, as well as showrunner Steve Molaro, for the prequel Sheldon. The plan is for a single-camera comedy exploring the teenage years of Dr. Sheldon Cooper, played in the current show by Jim Parsons, who would executive produce the prequel. Big Bang remains a core asset for both producer Warner Bros. TV and CBS, with the latter using the series to help launch new comedies. The studio and network are negotiating new deals with the show's core cast in a bid to take it into an 11th season and beyond. (Stars Parsons, Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco currently earn a cool $1 million per episode, plus a cut of the show's lucrative backend.) CBS and Warner Bros. declined comment. For ABC's part, the network is looking to Adam F. Goldberg and Marc Firek to develop a 1990s-set spinoff starring Bryan Callen of '80s comedy The Goldbergs, which has become a self-starter for the Disney-owned network on Wednesdays. TV spinoffs are nothing new, of course. CBS is using The Good Wife's Christine Baranski to launch CBS All Access' The Good Fight in February. NBC is looking to The Blacklist for a midseason spinoff, The Blacklist: Redemption, which will join its roster of Chicago spinoffs. AMC found success with Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul, and NBC also scored Emmy gold with Cheers spinoff Frasier (though Friends birthed dud Joey). But with so few new series delivering Big Bang-like numbers, pressure to keep hits going is growing. HBO programming president Casey Bloys recently told THR he'd even be open to a Game of Thrones spinoff if he could find the right writers, even though it already has extended beyond the George R.R. Martin books. (Hollywood Reporter)
CBS-Viacom Merger Intrigue as Les Moonves Pushes for Clear Control. Sources say Viacom and Shari Redstone are looking to wrap up a quick deal by year's end, but governance (and compensation) issues could complicate a combination. The merger dance between Viacom and CBS Corp. is underway, but the priorities of the two Sumner Redstone companies don't quite seem to match. Sources tell THR the Viacom special committee tasked with working on the merger hopes to wrap things up by year's end, quickly tackling financial terms and moving to issues of governance and compensation for CBS Corp. president and CEO Leslie Moonves, who would oversee the combined entity. But for the CBS side, the issue of governance comes first. In other words, Moonves, who holds a strong hand in this negotiation thanks to his stellar reputation, wants clear control of the combined company. He was closely allied with Viacom and CBS vice chair Shari Redstone during the protracted battle to oust Viacom chairman Philippe Dauman, but now it seems Moonves might be wondering whether Redstone might have developed an appetite for influence at a CBS-Viacom and would attempt to pull strings.

WOW." (Page Six)

(Of course, the Redstones control voting shares of both companies.) CBS has hired Moelis & Co. and Goldman Sachs to advise on a deal, while its special committee is advised by Lazard. The special committee of Viacom is advised by LionTree, Allen & Co. and Morgan Stanley. Viacom and CBS declined comment, but in a Nov. 3 earnings call in which Moonves touted the highest quarterly earnings per share in CBS history, he said talks "aren't even in the second inning yet."
