Janet Jackson Breaks Social Media Silence With First Health Update Since Pregnancy Reveal. Janet Jackson is reaching out to her fans. I feel your love and prayers.. Thank you.. and I'm doing well.. Al Hamdu lillah," she wrote, concluding her message with an Arabic phrase that translates to, "Praise be to God." Janet's latest health update follows her journey to motherhood that, as sources revealed to E! News, "hasn't been the easiest." Our insider explained, "She is due very, very soon," adding that Janet "can't wait to have the baby." The couple has even considered baby names, and as the source told us, it will "have something to do with Michael Jackson." Wishing Janet a happy and healthy finish to her pregnancy! (Eonline)
Amy Schumer & Ben Hanisch Celebrate 1-Year Anniversary as He Reveals When He "Knew I Wanted to Spend My Life With Her." Will Amy and Ben Hanisch head down the aisle? Because things look to be getting pretty serious... Both penned messages to each other on Instagram to celebrate their one-year anniversary. The shock comic and actress' was sweet and pretty NSFW. "A year ago today I met the love of my life," she wrote, alongside a photo of her beau. "Happy anniversary f--kface. #Iwantoseeotherpeople." However, Hanisch's message was more of a pledge: Make no mistake: The boy is head over heels. "A year ago I met the love of my life," he wrote on Instagram, alongside a pic of the two. "We both weren't looking for a relationship at the time, but something felt right from the very first night we met. We ended up spending 6 days in a row together. This pic was taken in New Orleans and was the night I knew I wanted to spend my life with her." Schumer and Hanisch, a Chicago-based furniture maker, made their romance Instagram-official this past January. "Sometimes in life you get extremely lucky, and the smartest, funniest, most beautiful woman comes along when you least expect it," Hanisch wrote at the time. Over the past year, he and Schumer have been photographed together at events such as the GQ Men Of The Year Awards 2016 and the 2016 Critics' Choice Awards. They have also been spotted doing adorable couple things, like going to baseball games. They've watched New York Mets games at Citi Field and also rooted for the Chicago Cubs in the recent World Series. They also nailed Stranger Things duo costumes this past Halloween. Hanisch also met Schumer's family -- and pretty early into their relationship. And in true Schumer fashion, the comedienne has been candid about their sex life. "We love having sex with each other, but there's no performing," she told Howard Stern in August. "He's so sweet." This marks one of the longest public relationships for Schumer, who previously dated fellow comic Anthony Jeselnik and WWE star Dolph Ziggler, who many fans have speculated inspired Jon Cena's character of her boyfriend in Trainwreck, which she wrote and starred in. "I feel like Ben is the first guy who's really been my boyfriend," Schumer told Marie Claire this past summer. "There are guys who, if they heard me say that, would want to punch me in the face, but yeah, it's the truth." (Eonline)
Marc Anthony and Shannon De Lima Separate After Two Years of Marriage. After two years of marriage, Marc Anthony and Shannon De Lima have separated. As three sources confirmed to E! News, the couple recently split. Back in 2014, the 48-year-old Grammy winner married the 28-year-old Venezuelan model in a private ceremony in the Dominican Republic after secretly getting engaged months earlier. Anthony and De Lima started dating in early 2012, about five months after he and ex-wife Jennifer Lopez announced their separation after seven years of marriage. The musician made the romance known when he called De Lima his "statue of liberty" on social media. However, a year later, the singer's rep confirmed to E! News that the new pair had called it quits. "The amicable breakup became official right in mid-January," his rep said in 2013. Fast forward to October 2014, they were back to kissing in Anthony's music video for "Flor Pálida" and a month later, they were husband and wife. In mid-September, De Lima took to Instagram to celebrate her partner's birthday, calling him the "best husband." "Happy birthday papi bello!!!! Gracias por compartir la vida conmigo... Y por ser el mejor esposo y amigo que alguien puede desear!!!!!" she captioned a photo of them together. In English, the message translates to, "Thank you for sharing your life with me...and for being the best husband and friend someone could wish for." This separation marks the third for the latin star, who was previously married to Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres and subsequently Jennifer Lopez. Anthony shares two sons, Cristian and Ryan, with Torres and twins Emme and Max with Lopez. The news comes on the heels of his surprise liplock with Lopez, who broke up with boyfriend Casper Smart in August, on the Latin Grammy Award stage Thursday night. After performing their new duet, "Olvídame y Pega la Vuelta," the pop star presented her former beau with the Person of the Year Award and embraced him in a kiss, sending the crowd into a roar of applause. De Lima was noticeably missing from the award ceremony and Anthony was not wearing his wedding ring. It was also recently announced that Anthony's Magnus Media and Sony Music Latin made a deal with Lopez and they will be developing and producing her upcoming Spanish-language album for release this month. Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx get back together. Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx are back together, we're told. The secret couple -- who have never confirmed that they're in a relationship, even though they've been together since 2013 -- broke up in October. Page Six reported at the time that Holmes, who married her ex-husband Tom Cruise 10 years ago on Friday, had become impatient because Foxx didn't want to go public with their long romance. "Jamie wants to continue to act like the carefree guy he is in public," said a source at the time. "Eventually, the question had to come about whether he was committed enough to the relationship." But insiders say the pair have reconciled and have been together as recently as this week. Sources say that the actress' inner circle is thrilled. (PageSix)
Meghan Markle Back to Work in Toronto Following London Getaway to See Prince Harry. It's back to the 'ol 9-5 for Meghan Markle. Prince Harry's new girlfriend arrived to the set of her USA network television series Suits on Friday in Toronto, marking the first time she's been spotted since returning from London last weekend. Markle, 35, hid behind a pair of sunglasses as she headed to work in a plum-colored pea coat, skinny jeans and beige ballet flats. The American actress is currently filming the second half of the legal drama's sixth season, which will premiere in January of next year. Just over a week ago, Meghan jetted across the pond to spend some time with the Royal, reportedly staying at her beau's Kensington Palace home, Nottingham Cottage. She was also seen toting grocery bags nearby the Prince of Wales' digs. For now the two might be apart, but that could all change depending on whether or not Meghan joins Harry during his upcoming service trip to the Caribbean. The hunky redhead, 32, is set to touch down in Antigua and Barbuda tomorrow for a two-week tour of the tropical islands. After all, the temperature in Canada isn't getting any warmer! And speaking of transatlantic trips, an insider recently told E! News that there is talk of Harry planning a trip to go and meet Markle's family. "It is seriously serious," the source added. We previously learned that the relationship has already earned the backing of Harry's friends and family members in the few months they've been privately dating, including Harry's father, Prince Charles, who met Markle. "Everybody is thrilled for Harry and totally supports him," another source told E! News. (Eonline)
Scream Star Bex Taylor-Klaus Comes Out as Gay: "Yes, the Rumors Are True." Bex Taylor-Klaus is setting the record straight about her sexuality. The 22-year-old Scream star took to Twitter this week to come out as gay, writing, "hello my name is bex and yes the rumors are true I am v gay." Taylor-Klaus has long fielded rumors about her sexuality, largely because of the numerous characters she's played on television. In AMC series The Killing, Bex's starred as a lesbian, followed by her playing an LGBT basketball player in House of Lies and bisexual high schooler on MTV's Scream. In 2013, the young starlet reportedly addressed the ongoing speculation via Facebook, telling her fans, "I am a straight girl who plays a gay character on TV. No, I am not ashamed." Shortly after Wednesday's announcement, Taylor-Klaus began livestreaming on YouNow with a Q&A session. "Terrified, absolutely terrified," the actress responded to one fan when asked of how she felt leading up to her coming out. "Part of why I'm coming out is because there's so much hate and fear in and around the LGBT community right now and it's important for us not to halt progress out of fear." Bex added, "Yes, it's a scary time, but we need to stand up and say, even if you are afraid, I'm not afraid, or even if I am afraid, I'm strong. I am who I am and you can't take that away from me." The actress later took to Twitter with a gracious message for her followers: "Thank you for all the love and support since last night -- it truly means a lot!" (Eonline)
Richard Simmons' Slimmons Studio held its last class Saturday ... and the health guru was noticeably MIA. Gym goers piled into the space for one last hoorah -- there was plenty of sweat and tears -- but Simmons, who's been out of the public eye for 2 1/2 years never showed. We're told gym staffers shared a letter from Richard thanking everyone for their loyalty, and encouraging them to continue a healthy lifestyle without him. Simmons' Facebook page has been very active recently, with posts from his time at the gym over the years. At this time, it's unclear what the space will be used for in the future. (TMZ)
Richard Simmons Says Goodbye to His Slimmons Fitness Studio in Heartfelt Post to Fans. Dancin' and sweatin' may not be the same for a few Richard Simmons fans. Saturday marked the final classes at the fitness guru's exercise studio near Los Angeles. Since opening in 1974, Slimmons Studio has seen thousands of fans walk through the doors for an unforgettable workout class. And while some were hoping to see Richard at the final classes Saturday, the fitness star decided to mark the occasion with a heartfelt post on social media. "I will not see you today because I am not very good at endings. I would just spend the whole time hugging and crying. My eyes would get puffy and red, my hair would get all frizzy and I'd be a mess," he wrote to his Facebook followers Saturday afternoon. "I cannot bear to be sad today. And you shouldn't be sad either. This should be a celebration of our forty-plus years together dancin' and sweatin'. So let's turn this ending into a new beginning." He continued, "When I opened Slimmons in 1974, I simply couldn't wait to tell everyone that food could be healthy AND delicious or that exercise could be fun! I worked my little striped shorts off to spread the message that you must move your body every day, that portion size matters and that while others may not always be kind to you, you must be kind to yourself." He would also spread the message in malls, talk shows, news segments or even convention halls. For those wondering what Richard is up to, the "Sweating to the Oldies" star told followers that he is doing the things he wants to do. "I am being kind to myself, and putting myself first. I am making changes and taking time to do the things I want to do. Please know that I am in good health and I am happy," he explained. "No one has ever been able to tell me what to do and the same is true today. I am still independent, determined and opinionated. I simply am making a new beginning for myself -- quietly and in my very own special way." He concluded, "Be kind to one another, be kind to your body and be kind to yourself. I love you." (Eonline)
How Game of Thrones Is Playing a Role in Lena Headey's Custody Battle. Game of Thrones to the rescue...well, sort of. Reports surfaced on Friday that Lena Headey had sought the help of GoT executives in her on-going custody battle with her ex Peter Loughran over their 6-year-old son, Wylie. However, E! News has learned it's really just part of the agreement between the former couple and the court that they've had all along. The actress' attorney, Joy Stanley told us her client is required to prove when she is working on the popular HBO show, and thus, she usually presents the court and Loughran with a letter from the producers. Today's news is nothing different. Stanley explains, "It's just a letter that's required under the judgement to let her ex-husband know when she's working. It's something that they've always done. She sends him confirmation of when she has to work. It's just a work-schedule confirmation. The judgement requires she let him know when she's required to be working." She continued, "Ms. Headey is doing nothing illegal. She won in court and she's going to continue to win in court. She's not done anything wrong. She's will continue to follow the law to the letter and she will continue to have primary custody of her son. She always has." Headey and Loughran divorced in 2013 after tying the knot in 2007. In September, the former couple entered into the custody battle after the actress moved back to the U.K. with their son to return to her support system -- her family. However, Loughran filed an emergency motion for her to return back to the U.S. with Wylie, claiming it was a violation of their custody agreement. A source told E! News at the time that Loughran was "going to court to dispute Lena's move back to the U.K. this past summer with the parties' child." His motion was denied by the court "for insufficient showing of the requirements to obtain an emergency order." Their next court date is scheduled for Dec. 16 in Los Angeles. (Eonline)
Jason Derulo was right in the middle of a nightclub brawl that stopped only after sheriff's deputies brandished their weapons. It's unclear what started the fight around closing at 2:00 AM in WeHo outside Bootsy Bellows. You see Jason fully jump into a circle of guys with one on the ground getting punched and kicked. L.A. County sheriff's deputies swarmed the area ... some carrying stun bag rifles, which deploy little bags with beads. It appears no shots were fired, but just the presence of cops was enough to end things. A good time was had by all. (TMZ)
L.A. Rams cornerback Troy Hill was busted for DUI after cops say he hit a semi-truck on the freeway. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Sports Hill was driving in a Mercedes on an L.A. freeway around 8 AM Saturday morning. Hill allegedly swerved over multiple lanes and crashed into the back of a semi-truck. We're told Hill showed signs of intoxication, was given a field sobriety test and was arrested on the spot. We've reached out to a rep for the team ... so far, no word back. (TMZ)
The "settlement" negotiations between Mariah Carey and ex-fiance James Packer have broken down, and there are now threats of lawsuits, with Mariah accusing James of being a "lying opportunist." TMZ broke the story ... Mariah demanded $50 million from James, claiming he uprooted her life from New York and caused her emotional distress that caused her to cancel the South American leg of her world tour. Our James sources say the tour cancellations were due to poor ticket sales, not distress. We're told James has now drawn the line ... he doesn't owe her squat. He says they were never married and there's no legal basis for him to pay her a penny. Mariah has a very different view. Our Mariah sources say James used her to secure business, and dragged her to various meetings to meet important people, including foreign dignitaries, so he could seal some lucrative deals. She believes she's entitled to a cut. Mariah is holding the line ... she wants $50 mil. Our James sources say if he pays her anything it will be to shut her up and get her out of his hair. (TMZ)
James Packer now claims he was bullied by ex-fiancee Mariah Carey into participating in her reality show, but we obtained video that makes it clear ... the yacht owner was fully on board, sources connected to Mariah tell TMZ. Our sources say James has now asked producers to scrub him from the series. We're told he's even asked to see proof he signed the appropriate releases, and turns out he did not. So, James may actually have a solid argument that his mug should not be shown on the program. But, as far as Packer being an unwilling participant ... check out the video we got, shot in Capri a few months back, before the engagement blew up. He clearly sees the cameras rolling, and is fully down with the drill. (TMZ)
Donald Trump has just reportedly agreed to settle several lawsuits over his Trump University real estate seminars. Reuters is reporting Trump settled up just as the judge in the case was supposed to rule on a request by Trump's lawyer to delay the trial until after Trump's inauguration in January. The judge, Gonzalo Curiel, is the man Trump said was too biased to hear the case because he has Mexican heritage. (TMZ)

Per the local media report, the Ugly Betty actress was found inside of her closet and appeared to have hanged herself with her skirt. Police officials also claimed to have found anti-depressants inside of her hotel room at the time of the investigation. Buckingham Palace Is Getting a $457 Million Makeover and Many Taxpayers Are Not Happy. Queen Elizabeth II is ready for a massive and "urgent" home makeover but many of U.K. taxpayers are not happy footing the bill. Her Majesty's Treasury announced Friday in a statement that Buckingham Palace, a 17th century-era landmark, one of England's most famous tourist attractions and the 90-year-old ceremonial monarch's main residence, will undergo a 10-year overhaul, consisting of "essential works that include replacing electrical wiring, water pipes and the heating system, which were installed in the aftermath of the Second World War." The cost? 369 million pounds ($457 million) of taxpayer money. To fund the project, the Royal Trustees, which include the prime minister, are seeking a temporary 10 percent increase in the Sovereign Grant, which covers the costs of running the queen's home, during the duration of the construction. Work set to begin in April and is estimated to conclude in 2026 or 2027, after which the government would push legislation to lower the Sovereign Grant back to what it was. Many people took to Twitter to vent their anger at the renovation plans, with some citing Britain's housing crisis and poverty level. "These urgent works have been properly costed and will ensure the Palace can continue its centuries-long tradition of being the working house of our Monarch," Chief Secretary to the Treasury David Gauke said. "We will ensure every penny spent achieves the greatest value for money." The treasury cited the multi-million dollar tourism revenue boost England receives because of visits to Buckingham Palace, adding that renovating the structure will "help to significantly improve visitor access, especially to schools, to help open up the Palace and its treasures even further to the public." During construction, the Queen and her family will continue to live at the palace and it will also remain open to the public, while major national events such as the Changing of the Guard, Trooping of the Colour and Garden Parties will continue to be held in and around the area as well. Dancing with the Stars Finale Illness: Gleb Savchenko Has Flu and 'Has to Rest,' Says Source. This is not the week for Gleb Savchenko to get sick. "He has the flu and has to rest up this weekend so he can hopefully dance on Monday," a source tells PEOPLE of the Dancing with the Stars pro. Savchenko and his season 23 partner Jana Kramer are just two nights away from possibly winning the Mirrorball Trophy but the pro is having to reschedule rehearsals this weekend so he can rest, says the source. Kramer and Savchenko are slated to face-off against Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy, Calvin Johnson and Lindsay Arnold and James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess for two dances on Monday night. And if they are not eliminated Monday, they will have just 24 hours to learn a new dance for the season finale on Tuesday. "Getting to the final week makes me already feel like a winner," Kramer -- who posted an Instagram Saturday of Savchenko wearing a mask in rehearsal -- told reporters after last Monday's live show. "But don't get me wrong, I still want that Mirrorball!" The source says Savchenko can't imagine not performing Monday, but it will have to be a game-day decision. The pro dancer almost had to sit out of a live performance earlier in November after suffering a knee injury. Dancing with the Stars finale week kicks off Monday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. (People)
The White House could become kinda lonely for Donald Trump, at least for a few months, because TMZ has confirmed Melania will be staying back in NYC while 10-year-old Barron completes his school year. Sources connected with Trump tell TMZ, Melania doesn't want to disrupt Barron's life in the middle of the school year, so her home base will be Trump Tower until June at the earliest. She's extremely close to her son ... very clearly the priority in her life, and we're told she thinks it's too much to yank him away from school, friends, sports, etc. right now. She'll be going back and forth to D.C. but she and Barron won't move there until June at the earliest, and no firm decision has been made after that. (TMZ)
Protester Storms Ashton Kutcher's Panel to Protest Airbnb in Palestine. A protester interrupted a panel with Ashton Kutcher at the Airbnb Open 2016: A Festival of Hosting event in Los Angeles on Saturday. During Kutcher's presentation, a woman named Ariel Gold went onstage to protest Airbnb in Palestine. Gold is a member of CODEPINK, a women-led grassroots organization supporting peace and human rights initiatives, according to the group's website. Gold held a sign that said, "Airbnb Out of Settlements" with the group's Twitter handle. Kutcher, 38, alongside Airbnb founder Brian Chesky, took time to address the matter and defend the company, which the actor has invested in. He started by talking about his dream for a harmonious world. "[A world] doesn't discriminate against one another," he said in a video captured by one attendee. "We can get to know each other intimately and understand our collective narrative is a narrative for everyone, and that we all can belong in a world together without borders." He went on to talk about achieving such a goal. "I can appreciate that this doesn't happen seamlessly," Kutcher. "I can appreciate that this doesn't happen easily. I can appreciate that where there is change, there will be a fringe case that feels objectified, but this company is about bringing people together, and about loving one another." Kutcher then turned to Chesky, and defended his friend's mission and company. "And I know this man," he said. "I know his heart, I know his initiative, and I know that when a problem gets brought to his desk that says that there is a discrimination or this is a displacement that he cares. And that the first thing that he does is try to look at the system holistically and change it to make it better." Kutcher received a lot of support from the crowd, and ended his speech with a message about coming together. "You're welcome to a world where we all belong," he said. "And if you want to sit down and have a conversation about it, I'm happy to have that conversation with you." Kutcher's wife Mila Kunis recently spoke out about equality in a powerful essay posted on Kutcher's website, A Plus. "There have been moments when I have been insulted, sidelined, paid less, creatively ignored, and otherwise diminished based on my gender," she said about sexism in the entertainment industry. She continued: "I taught myself that to succeed as a woman in this industry I had to play by the rules of the boy's club. But the older I got and the longer I worked in this industry, the more I realized that it's bulls -- ! And, worse, that I was complicit in allowing it to happen." (People)
Shaunie O'Neal has a message for any racists that might try to bully her children ... don't try it ... saying her kids are completely ready, willing and able ... TO FIGHT BACK! We got Shaunie out at LAX and asked her what it's like raising youngsters (she has five kids) in the tense racial and social time the country is going through right now. Remember ... one of those kids is high school basketball star Shareef O'Neal, who's choosing from a huge number of colleges, some of which are in the South. It's clear Ms. O'Neal ain't scared at all ... saying she's taught her kids all about defending themselves and none of their hearts pump any Kool-Aid ... at all. Also worth noting ... their father is 7'1" 360 pounds ... and Shareef is 6'8" ... so probably not a good idea to mess. (TMZ)

Bruno Mars Is James Corden's Next Carpool Karaoke Guest. And the next guest for James Corden's Carpool Karaoke is... Bruno Mars! E! News has learned that the 24K Magic singer was spotted filming the Late Late Show segment in Los Angeles on Nov. 18, a.k.a. the same day his new album was released. Mars has plenty of hits to choose from, but we're betting "Versace on the Floor" and the new album's title track, "24K Magic," will make the list. There's also no way they'll be able to do a whole segment without "Locked Out of Heaven," "When I Was Your Man," and "Grenade," right? This week has been busy in the Carpool Karaoke world, as Corden was spotted filming a new segment in New York with the Queen of Pop, Madonna. The Late Late Show host seemed to hint at an event earlier this week that both Madonna and Mars were the next guests in line, telling reporters at the Jaguar Private Unveil event his latest list of ideal guests. "I'd love to have Bruno [Mars]. Would love to do with Madonna. Beyonce, of course," he said. Wait a minute, if Madonna and Bruno Mars both filmed this week, does that mean Queen B herself is next?! Let us all pray to Beysus herself that this can happen -- and soon! Other artists who have famously taken part include Mariah Carey, Adele, Britney Spears, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato, Sia, Elton John, Rod Stewart and so many more -- including Gwen Stefani, who brought special guests George Clooney and Julia Roberts along for the ride. The Late Late Show airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. on CBS. (Eonline)
Kanye West Rants About Beyonce & Jay Z Onstage and Then Ends Concert Early. Kanye West is not happy with Beyonce & Jay Z. And many of his fans are not happy with him. The outspoken rapper left more than 13,000 fans bewildered and angry when he ended his concert in Sacramento, California Saturday night after about 30 minutes following an onstage rant against the power couple. Kanye has often spent time with them and has collaborated with Jay Z. During his rant at the Golden 1 Center, he accused Bey of refusing to perform at this 2016 MTV Video Music Awards this past August unless her "Formation" video beat him and Drake to win Video of the Year, which it did. As for Jay Z, Kanye pleaded with him to call him. Neither he nor Beyonce have commented. "Beyonce, I was hurt cos heard that you said you wouldn't perform unless you won Video of the Year over me and over 'Hotline Bling,'" Kanye told the crowd. "In my opinion, now don't go trying to diss Beyonce," Kanye continued. "She is great. Taylor Swift is great." The rapper and the pop star have a feud that began in 2009 when he interrupted her acceptance speech at the MTV VMAs to say Beyonce should've beaten her. Tensions between them rose earlier this year after the release of his track "famous," in which he raps that he made Swift, dubbed "that bitch," famous." Kanye later said he did not "diss" the singer and that he had spoken to her in advance about the lyric. She denies this. "We are all great people," Kanye continued in his onstage rant. "We are all equal. But sometimes, we be playing the politics too much and forgetting who we are just to win. F -- k winning! F -- k looking cool! F -- k looking cool! F -- k being cool! F -- k all that!" "I've been sitting here to give ya'll my truth even at the risk of my own life. Even at the risk of my own success, my own career. I've been sitting here to give ya'll the truth!" he added. "Jay Z, call me, bro! You still ain't calling me. Jay Z, call me... Jay Z, I know you got killers. Please don't send them at my head. Just call me. Talk to me like a man!" After his rant, which also got political, Kanye dropped his mic. "Get ready to have a field day, press, because the show's over," he said, drawing boos. Many fans also began chanting "F--k Kanye!" as they exited the venue. "I've been a fan since 2004 and all we get is two songs?" concertgoer Keith Jougenatos told The Sacramento Bee. "I'm done being a fan." (Eonline)
Halle Berry Makes Special Appearance on Bruno Mars' Album 24K Magic. Halle Berry, hallelujah. The Oscar winner has officially made the crossover into the world of music by making a special appearance on one of Bruno Mars' tracks off of his new album, 24K Magic. Berry can be heard on the song called "Calling All My Lovelies" alongside the Grammy Award-winning crooner. Mars' album dropped today and has already garnered a ton of attention with the release of the hit single named after the album. The "Locked Out of Heaven" singer recently returned from a four-year break from the music biz and came right back onto the scene by performing at this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show with none other than Beyonce and Coldplay. Earlier this month, in an interview with Zane Lowe on his Beats 1 show on Apple Music Mars recalled his earlier days starting out as an artist. [Those days] sucked, but in a beautiful way. Without getting dropped, I might not be here. All of these things you have to go through. It ain't easy. If it was easy everyone would be doing it." He continued, "The worst absolute moment was telling everybody I got dropped. I'm broke. I'm in debt. Walking into a room saying, 'Yeah, I'm a signed Motown artist,' then walking in and saying, 'I'm a dropped Motown artist.' But I'm not blaming anybody over there." (Eonline)
Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony Kiss After Performing Surprise Duet at the 2016 Latin Grammy Awards. They're back...to making musical greatness! Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony shocked the 2016 Latin Grammy Awards audience on Thursday when they took the stage together and debuted their single "Olvídame y Pega la Vuelta," which they followed with a sweet smooch! Yes, J.Lo took it back to her roots by revisiting Spanish-language music with the help of none other than her superstar ex-husband who is being honored on the big night as The Latin Recording Academy's Person of the Year. The two totally rocked the stage together, causing the crowd to go absolutely wild while continuously shouting, "Beso!" Their new single is a remake of the famous Argentinian duo, Pimpinela's song. Interestingly enough, the message is about a lover who is asking her ex to forget about her -- about her name, her face, her home -- as she has learned to live without him, and she is moving on. After their performance, J.Lo presented her ex-husband with the Person of the Year Award, plopping a big kiss right on his lips, sending the crowd into a roar of cheers. The moment comes five years after ending their seven-year marriage. Recently, Anthony's Magnus Media and Sony Music Latin announced in October that they entered a new business deal with Lopez. The companies will be developing and producing Lopez's upcoming Spanish-language album, slated for release in this month. Anthony is serving as the collection's executive producer and his company is to "provide consulting services to Lopez in the areas of marketing, content development, and touring specifically for the Hispanic market," the companies told E! News. "I am so excited and really looking forward to this new musical journey and to celebrate my Latin roots with Marc Anthony and the Sony/Magnus family," Lopez, 47, said in a statement. Aside from the magical duo performance, Anthony was honored by the Latin Recording Academy as Person of the Year. The night was filled with performances from Prince Royce, Gente de Zona, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Carlos Vives and many more. Not to mention an emotional speech from Ricky Martin who handed the 48-year-old singer his award and noted that their paths first crossed back in 1987 when Anthony was a producer for Menudo. Ain't gonna sleep. Britney Spears dropped a sexy new music video for her single "Slumber Party" featuring Tinashe in the early hours of Friday, November 18, and it's too hot to handle. The video, directed by Colin Tilley, begins with the pop superstar, 34, arriving to a mansion in a classic car. She steps out in a fur coat and red dress and enters a wild party. Once inside, she catches the eye of a very attractive man and the dancing begins. Halfway through the song, Tinashe makes an appearance dressed in lingerie for the slumber party. The pair get flirty and super close on a couch while the 23-year-old sings her own verse. Naturally, the "Make Me... " singer has some impressive dance moves and bares her toned abs in several skimpy outfits -- including a sparkly black ensemble and a blue princess skirt. Back in October, Spears and Tinashe both teased their collaboration, posting photos from the set on Instagram. The R&B singer wrote on October 25, "The face you make when the rumors are true and you collabed with your idol & basically your whole life is a dream so you keep it cute for Brit but inside you are wigless and dead #slumberparty." This is the second single and video off of Spears' ninth studio album, Glory, released earlier this year. (US Weekly)
Trey Songz Shares Mistletoe-Ready Number 'Comin' Home'. 'Tis the season for cuffing and Trey Songz returns with a romantic new love note to cuddle by the fireplace with called "Comin' Home." Trigga Trey shares his playboy ways and serenades his special lady by promising, "I'm comin' home to the one that I love. He also assures, "Christmas will be nothing without you." Songz has been silent on the music front since dropping his emotional To Whom It May Concern mixtape last November. "A lot of people place me on a pedestal and sometimes I fall short," he wrote in a letter to his fans. "My music is sometimes categorized as a song, single, stream, download, mixtape or album, but it's really the soundtrack to my life. Every lyric a reflection of where I am within a specific emotion. I'm going through some s--t like we all are. I look in the mirror and I judge myself like we all do. I want to make it to the better version of myself." His last official offerings were the 2014 album, Trigga, and its 2015 follow-up, Trigga Reloaded. The singer, who celebrated his 32nd birthday earlier this month, also teamed with Kevin Hart's rap alias Chocolate Droppa for "Push It On Me." (Billboard)
Nas, Dave East, Aloe Blacc & Usher Deliver New 'Hamilton Mixtape' Tracks 'Wait For It' & 'Wrote My Way Out'. Lin-Manuel Miranda is keeping hip-hop heads and Broadway stans on their toes with scintillating cuts off his highly anticipated project, The Hamilton Mixtape. After unearthing several bangers featuring Sia and Miguel among others, Miranda is keeping the ball rolling with two new tracks featuring Nas and Usher. On "Wrote My Way Out," Nas tags his protege Dave East alongside heavyweight crooner Aloe Blacc and Miranda himself for a poignant cut. "I picked up the pen like Hamilton/ Street analyst, now I write words that try to channel them/ No political power, just lyrical power/ Sitting on a crate on a corner, sipping for hours," raps the Queens MC. East counters with hard-hitting bars of his own. "At sixteen, arrested in housing, trip to the mountains/ Came right back, trapping off couches, watching for mouses/ Only tools we was posed with, had to spot smoke lit/ The haters just confusion, pay attention how them jokes switch," East spits. Miranda provides the proverbial cherry on top with an earth-shaking verse of his own: "High speed, dubbing these rhymes in dual cassette deck /Running out of time like I'm Jonathan Larson's Rent check/ My mind is where the wild things are, Maurice Sendak/ In withdrawal, I want it all, please give me that pen back." As for Usher's "Wait For It", the acclaimed singer reaches deep in his bag of tricks and belts high notes about the meaning of love. From the sounds of it, The Hamilton Mixtape is shaping out to the perfect holiday gift for that musichead on your list. (Billboard)

Game of Thrones and Star Wars' Worlds Collide: Emilia Clarke Joins Han Solo Movie. Star Wars is getting a Game of Thrones plot twist! OK, not exactly, but the popular film is getting Emilia Clarke. StarWars.com just announced that the 30-year-old actress is joining the upcoming untitled Han Solo standalone movie. She'll hit the big screen alongside Alden Ehrenreich, who is playing Han Solo, and Donald Glover, who is set to star as Lando Calrissian. Though the website hasn't announced exactly what character she'll play, Clarke -- who's known for playing the Mother of Dragons Daenerys Targaryen on GoT -- will add to the dynamic list of characters Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures throughout the film. Just as Ehrenreich went through a grueling testing session for his role as Han, Clarke had to beat out several other actresses for her character. Variety reports Selma star Tessa Thompson, Power Rangers' Naomi Scott and Zoë Kravitz all tested for the role in October. Kiersey Clemons and Jessica Henwick also tested with Clarke in London. Not many other details about the film have been released yet, but we do know it takes place prior to the original Star Wars trilogy and is being directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. The film is set to hit theaters in 2018. (Eonline)
AFI Fest: 'Patriots Day' Becomes Major Addition to the Oscar Race. Peter Berg and Mark Wahlberg, who previously teamed up on 2013's 'Lone Survivor' and September's 'Deepwater Horizon,' could enjoy their warmest Academy embrace yet for this film about the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, according to THR's awards columnist. The Oscar race just got a little more crowded. Patriots Day, a drama about the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing that marks the third pairing of writer/director Peter Berg and actor Mark Wahlberg (after 2013's Lone Survivor and September's Deepwater Horizon), closed the 30th AFI Fest Thursday night, and the audience at the TCL Chinese Theatre couldn't have responded in a bigger way. The packed house -- much of which was sniffling and wiping tears throughout the screening -- applauded loudly as the credits began to roll, and then got on its feet for a prolonged ovation as the lights came up to reveal Berg and Wahlberg flanking several of the real survivors of and first-responders to the terror attack. It is, to be sure, rare that a film about a major event is turned around soon after that event as this one was. (For point of reference, United 93 came five years after 9/11, Deepwater Horizon came six years after the oil rig of the same name exploded in the Gulf of Mexico and Sully comes seven years after "the miracle on the Hudson.") And that might invite the question: "Why is it necessary to revisit this story?" I can't speak for the filmmakers, but it seems to me that this film -- which includes details not widely reported at the time -- is just the kind of unifying film needed after a cutthroat election season bitterly divided America. Indeed, it offers a powerful, moving and much-needed reminder that Americans of all different stripes can and must come together when times are tough, and that when we do, we are at our best. Wahlberg, who is as associated with Boston as anyone, does his city proud with this film, which he also produced. He plays a rough-around-the-edges Boston cop -- a composite of a number of different real people -- who is on the scene when the bombs explode at the marathon's finish-line, and then becomes part of the hunt for the perpetrators over the ensuing days. He does some of the best acting of his career in this film, particularly in the scene in which he first returns home and breaks down while debriefing his wife (Michelle Monaghan). It's a rare moment when the focus is solely on him, rather than a group of people (this is no vanity play), and it feels earned and impressive. Every performer, though, pulls their weight, in parts of varying sizes, as has been the case in all of Berg's work dating back to Friday Night Lights -- John Goodman as the Boston police commissioner, Kevin Bacon as the top-dog from the feds, Michael Beach as the governor of Massachusetts, Themo Melikidze and Alex Wolff as the homegrown terrorists, Jimmy O'Yang (Silicon Valley) as the Asian immigrant taken hostage by them, J.K. Simmons as a veteran Watertown cop who winds up pursuing them, Melissa Benoist as the wife of one of the terrorists, Khandi Alexander as the police interrogator who grills her -- and the list goes on. This first-rate and diverse cast has to be regarded as a serious contender for a best ensemble SAG Award nom, which has marked the beginning of the road to many a best picture Oscar nomination. Many have referred to Patriots Day as the third part of a Berg-Wahlberg trilogy. While that's statistically correct, it should be noted that this one represents a greater level of achievement than either Lone Survivor or, certainly, Deepwater Horizon. This probably is, in part, because it felt the most personal to Wahlberg, but also because it's polished in all the important places, especially its script, by Berg, Matt Cook and Joshua Zetumer (from a story by Berg, Cook, Eric Johnson and Paul Tamasy); as well as its production design (it was largely shot in Boston and captures the vibe and spirit of that unique city); and its score, by Oscar winners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Oh -- and its ending is as powerful and moving as any this year, which is saying a lot in a year that also includes La La Land and Lion, the latter of which similarly closes with incredible documentary footage that tugs at the heartstrings. My bottom-line: a wide cross-section of Academy members are likely to respond to this movie, but especially men, who represent a disproportionate percentage of the Academy (73 percent according to the organization), who love Wahlberg (every bit as much as women do) and who may be hungry this season for a movie with a strong -- in this case, #BostonStrong -- alpha-male protagonist (beyond those seen in Hacksaw Ridge, Hell or High Water and Sully). Box Office: 'Fantastic Beasts' Collects $8.75 Million Thursday. STX's edgy coming-of-age drama 'The Edge of Seventeen' and Open Road's boxing biopic 'Bleed for This' also open this weekend. Muggles made their way to theaters Thursday night to push Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them to $8.75 million in previews. The Warner Bros. prequel film returning fans to J.K. Rowling's magical world (although this time in New York in the 1920s), will easily top the weekend, tracking to earn in the $70 million-$80 million range in North America and beyond $200 million globally. Internationally, the film added 38 markets on Thursday for a total of 47 markets now in release with an estimated gross of $16.6 million. The cumulative tally after two days is $23.5 million. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, a collector of magical creatures who travels to New York, where several of his creatures get out. He teams with a pair of magical sisters (Katherine Waterston and Alison Sudol) and a muggle (Dan Fogler) to get them back, while also facing a much darker threat to the magical world. David Yates helmed the $180 million film from a script by Rowling, who is also writing the scripts for the sequel and three more films. STX's edgy coming-of-age drama The Edge of Seventeen and Open Road's boxing biopic Bleed for This also open this weekend. Edge of Seventeen nabbed $220,000 in previews Thursday night. The film, which stars Hailee Steinfeld as an awkward teen dealing with her friend falling for her brother, is expected to earn in the $8 million-$10 million range in its debut. Directed by Kelly Fremon Craig in her directorial debut, it also stars Blake Jenner and Woody Harrelson. Bleed for This, starring Miles Teller as Vinny Pazienza, a boxer who attempts to make a comeback after a terrible car accident, is tracking to open in the $5 million range. The film, directed by Ben Younger, debuted at Telluride and also screened at Toronto earlier this year. It also stars Katey Sagal and Aaron Eckhart. (Hollywood Reporter)
'Ghost in the Shell' Trailer Exceeds Japanese Fans' Expectations. Commenters in the home of the iconic franchise have reacted overwhelmingly positively to what they've seen so far, in contrast to the criticism from much of the global media. Despite the white-washing controversy, criticism about changes in the storyline and a slew of other complaints, the Ghost in the Shell trailer has garnered an overwhelmingly positive response from Japanese fans of the original manga and anime. The Japanese-subtitled version of the trailer, released at an event party on Sunday in Tokyo, has been viewed more than a quarter of a million times on YouTube, with the "likes" outnumbering the "dislikes" by about ten to one. While some people have complained about the casting of a white actress in the main role, the majority of comments about star Scarlett Johansson are positive, as are comments about the look of the film. Japanese fans were largely unbothered about Johansson playing the lead role, having expected a white actress to star in the Hollywood film. There were more sarcastic comments about the casting of Takeshi Kitano, whom many said always reminded them of a yakuza gangster because he had played so many in his career. "Wow! I wasn't expecting anything from this live-action version, but I'll watch this, I really want to see it. Paramount and Dream Works, this is more than enough to convince me! And Scarlett has just the right feel for it! I take back what I said about this turning out to be a piece of crap," wrote Afro na Samurai. Many commenters were full of praise for the striking visuals in the trailer, pointing out that the production values are much higher than they likely would have been for a Japanese film, which are generally made on much lower budgets. "This looks 100 times better than a Japanese live-action movie would have been... though I'm not saying it's a good idea to have done a live-action version," commented Takahiro Watanabe "What a difference it makes if you have money. This is a completely different level to Japanese live-action films," wrote uramasago@K4. According to many commenters, expectations were low for the film, but what they have seen so far of Rupert Sanders' reimagining of the story appears to have exceeded them. "Well, we won't know until we can see the whole thing, but looks like we can have higher hopes for this than Dragon Ball," wrote tutona8, referring to the ill-fated 2009 Dragonball Evolution, an example of a failed Hollywood manga adaptation. Mamoru Oshii, director of the seminal 1995 anime version of the story, has come out in support of the new film, but the author of the original manga Masamune Shirow has yet to comment, which some are suggesting may be a warning sign for the film. But Shirow, 54, is known to be reclusive and rarely talks to the media, spending most of his time these days drawing erotic manga. "It has been a very long project, discussions began nine years ago. I believe Shirow gave his opinion in the early stages of the process," said Sam Yoshiba, head of the international business division at Kodansha, the publisher of the original manga and rights' holder, at the time the remake was finalized. "He hasn't made any comment recently, but he's not someone who speaks in public these days," Yoshiba told The Hollywood Reporter. Two Japanese long-time fans of the franchise said they were impressed by the trailer, had no issue with Johansson's casting and will see the film when it is released in Japan in April. "It looks incredible. They've recreated some of the scenes directly from the anime and really captured it," Koki Kikuchi, 23, told The Hollywood Reporter. "I thought it might end up looking like the kind of crappy version of Tokyo in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, but I'm looking forward to seeing this." "Scarlett Johansson is really good casting, and anyway, I can't think of any Japanese actress who can do action well," said Teppe Machida, 33. "The trailer looks really cool, I'm definitely going to watch it." The U.S. release is set for March 31. (Hollywood Reporter)

Gilmore Girls Gets a Racy New Trailer With Child Labor & No Underwear. Just one week to go until new Gilmore Girls episodes are in our eyeballs, and Netflix has released another, much racier trailer complete with child labor, no underwear, and, of course, coffee. No need to be alarmed, this is still the Gilmore Girls you know and love! We're sure there is adequate explanation for the fact that Lorelai and Rory seem to have employed two small children to be their personal butlers and that there is an entire storyline dedicated to the fact that Rory doesn't have any underwear. "Any outfit you wear without underwear is going to be your lucky outfit," Lorelai advises her, and she's probably right. The trailer features a few tidbits we've seen in past promos -- the fact that they've ordered enough food for an actual army, smoldering glances from Jess (Milo Ventimiglia), Dean (Jared Padalecki) and Logan (Matt Czuchry) -- but we also see plenty of new footage. There's more about how each of the Gilmore women seems to be at a crossroads in life -- Lorelai (Lauren Graham) figuring out what she wants to in her relationship, Rory (Alexis Bledel) discovering her true calling, and Emily (Kelly Bishop) learning how to live without Richard -- and a lot more with familiar faces like Lane (Keiko Agena) and Paris (Liza Weil). (There's also a few more scenes with Jess. WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!) Bonus Bunhead spotting: Bailey De Young is part of a group of thirtysomethings living back in Stars Hollow (much like it appears Rory is). Oh, and don't forget the coffee. "Everything in my life has something to do with coffee. I believe in another life I was coffee," Lorelai says. All four episodes of Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life hit Netflix on Friday, Nov. 25. Doctor Who Teams Up With a Superhero in Christmas Special Sneak Peek. We've gone nearly an entire year without new episodes of Doctor Who, if you can believe it. But worry no more -- the Doctor is back with a brand new Christmas Special to tide you over until season 10 begins in April 2017. In this sneak peek at this year's Christmas Special, called "The Return of Doctor Mysterio," Peter Capaldi's twelfth doctor teams up with an investigative journalist (played by Charity Wakefield) and a comic-book superhero (played by Justin Chatwin) to save New York from a "deadly alien threat." "I've always loved superheroes and this Christmas, Doctor Who dives into that world," Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat said in a press release announcing the hourlong special. "My favorite superhero is Clark Kent. Not Superman, Clark Kent." Said Chatwin in the release, "Working with the amazing people at Doctor Who has been one of the most fun and rewarding projects I've ever had the pleasure of being involved with." The episode will also feature Matt Lucas, Adetomiwa Edun, Aleksandar Jovanovic and Logan Hoffman. The 2016 Doctor Who Christmas Special, which was written by Moffat, will air on BBC America on Christmas Day. When the show returns for its regular season in April, theater actress Pearl Mackie will join the cast as the Doctor's newest companion following the exit of Jenna Coleman in 2015. In the official announcement, Mackie described her character, named Bill, as "cool, strong, sharp, a little bit vulnerable with a bit of geekiness thrown in." Said Capaldi at the time of the announcement, "It is a genuine delight to welcome Pearl Mackie to Doctor Who. A fine, fine actress with a wonderful zest and charm, she's a refreshing addition to the Tardis and will bring a universe of exciting new possibilities to the Doctor's adventures." (Eonline)
Justin Bartha Joins The Good Fight -- Find Out Who He's Romancing. It won't be all legal fights on The Good Fight -- love is in the air for The Good Wife spinoff. E! News has learned Justin Bartha, who was last seen in Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life, has joined the cast as a series regular as Colin. Bartha's character is described as a rising star in the State's Attorney's office -- and one of the city's most eligible bachelors. But will he stay one for long? Romantic sparks fly when he squares off against Lucca (Cush Jumbo) in the courtroom. "Whenever you're looking for a romantic lead, you look for someone who can play the comedy and the sexuality, but even more importantly is the intelligence," Robert and Michelle King, The Good Fight executive producers and co-creators, said in a statement. "And that's what we love about Justin: he can play all three: the comedy and the sexuality, but he's also convincing as a tough intellectual foe to Cush Jumbo in court. We couldn't be happier." The Good Fight picks up a year after the events of The Good Wife series finale. Lucca is no longer at Lockhart & Lee -- and neither is Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski). A financial scheme wipes out Diane, causing the firm to kick her to the curb. She joins Lucca at her new firm and must pick up the pieces. Sarah Steele will return as Marissa Gold, Game of Thrones' Rose Leslie plays Maia, Diane's goddaughter, Delroy Lindo plays Robert Boseman and Erica Tazel of Justified also stars. Bernadette Peters and Paul Guilfoyle will recur as Maia's parents. Returning players also include Gary Cole, Zach Greiner and Jerry Adler. The Good Fight premieres on CBS in February before moving to CBS All Access, the network's streaming platform. (Eonline)

What Happened to The Good Wife? Creators Explain How the Ending Changed and Where Alicia Is Now. The Good Wife's big ending -- you know, the one where Julianna Margulies' Alicia Florrick betrayed long-time friend Diane Lockhart, got slapped in a hallway, missed her opportunity with Jason and realized she'd become everything she hated in her husband, Peter -- wasn't supposed to be a sad one. No, in fact it was supposed to be optimistic, according to show creators Robert and Michelle King. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played Jason on the series, was asked to come back and shoot an additional scene following his series wrap, but his commitments to The Walking Dead -- where he was busy murdering your favorite characters -- kept him from doing so. "I know that I got a call two weeks later after we wrapped and I was already in Atlanta, and they were like, 'We want to do a little bit of a reshoot,' and I couldn't do it. I was like, 'I film tomorrow,' so there's no way I could get back in. I don't know what that would have consisted of. I don't think anything that would have changed the story dramatically or anything," Morgan told EW. "I like that it kind of brought her back to beginning -- that slap -- and it was a kind of a role reversal there. Selfishly, I would have liked to see Jason and Alicia have some sort of answers for the audience and themselves." According to Variety, Robert King said at a recent talk that they worried about whether or not Alicia's fate was clear enough so they wanted Morgan and Margulies back to shoot a scene that would clear up the status of their relationship. It worked out for the better, Robert said, because a scene of Alicia "falling into the arms" of her lover would have been "too much of a cop-out." However, Robert said after the slap heard around the world, Alicia and Jason do end up together. As for the final scene with Alicia getting slapped and walking off into her future, it wasn't originally going to end like that. The Kings wanted to show to fade out on Alicia in tears after the slap, but they decided to add the walk to suggest hope. "We thought it was more optimistic to suggest that Alicia could realize 'Oh my god I've become him,'" Robert said regarding her transformation into Peter. "I don't think people wanted a sad ending to the Alicia story." At the end of the day, "The education of Alicia Florrick was a tragedy," Robert said. "It's about a woman who becomes what she hates. She was willing to hurt someone in the same way that she was hurt at the beginning." The Good Wife world isn't done. Robert and Michelle King are at work on The Good Fight, the new CBS All Access series centered on Christine Baranski's Diane Lockhart and Cush Jumbo's Lucca Quinn. The 10-episode first season premieres on CBS proper in February before making its move to the streaming platform. (Eonline)
How to Get Away With Murder Creator Teases New Mystery: Who Killed Wes? How to Get Away With Murder creator Pete Nowalk agonized over which character would be under the sheet in the winter finale of the ABC drama until pretty much the very last minute he could. But there was one moment in particular that helped him realize the decision he needed to make. "When we revealed that Wes was alive in that interrogation room, that's when I knew that it should be him," he told E! News and a small group of reporters after a screening of the big episode. "But I put off the decision as long as I could!" And when he actually told Alfred Enoch that it would be Wes on the gurney, the British actor took it incredibly well. "He's a dream. It's the hardest decision I had to make in the show, but all of the actors are just so professional," Nowalk revealed. "So he smiled and told me he thought it was a good idea, which made me want to say, 'No, it's not! Never mind, I'm changing my mind.'" He continued, "Alfie's just the most gracious, professional, generous person. I think he instantly felt bad for the rest of the cast because they're all so close, and it's almost easier to be in his shoes. I put them through a really weird experience because they were just finding out things at the read-throughs and I was like, 'I still don't know, even, if you're alive. You still could be dead.' Through the whole thing! It was like an awful reality show we put them through. I think they were obviously very upset and that made me feel like a jerk." One thing that helped ease the pain, however, is the fact that we'll still see Enoch regularly throughout the second half of season three considering he's the reason for the show's newest mystery. "One of the things that made me feel better about the decision, and also for the audience -- the Wes fans especially -- is that we're going to obviously have to relive what happened after he walked out the doors. It's a lowly storytelling technique that never makes me have to say goodbye to people. We still see Sam every once in a while, I'm sure we'll see Rebecca someday again." The new mystery? Oh, you know, just WHO KILLED WES? That's another decision Nowalk has postponed -- though he'll have to decide soon. "I only have four episodes left to write, so I have to get to the point where I know. But I'm always willing to change my mind. Anything's possible, it could be any one of those knuckle-heads. Or it could be someone outside of the group too," he says, adding, "Each time I watch it I'm like, 'Oh, this person could have done it.'" We will get some answers very quickly when How to Get Away With Murder returns (along with the rest of TGIT) on January 19. "We're going to see what happened to him, right as we left him, in the first episode back. We're going to turn over the cards pretty quickly," Nowalk says. "I think one of the things that we're going to watch is that it's very emotional for all the characters. So I think they're all going to be either forced to kill each other or love each other. I think that's also one of the reasons that it felt right in my gut to do, is that it changes the dynamic of every single relationship. Wes was such a centerpiece of the show, to the point where I'm really excited to watch what Michaela and Laurel are like together now. Death has that impact on people; you form new dynamics in relationships. It's very, to me, character-driven. And Annalise is arrested, so it really takes her on a different journey and it's not going to be easy to get out of this one." Plus, there's the whole question of Laurel's baby daddy. "We'll find that out the first episode as well. I didn't want to do the Bridget Jones' Baby too long. Laurel has a huge decision to make, and I guess that's what I'm liking. It's fun to have to write how they're dealing with grief. They have to really grow up and she has a decision to make, a really big one, which is hard." While HTGAWM consistently juggles multiple storylines, Nowalk says the last seven episodes of season three will really be dedicated to the current question. "The mystery really is who killed Wes and within that, there's a lot of twists and turns. So I think trying not to do too much is the main gist of it. There's still relationships that are fractured. Like Annalise and Frank, we don't know what's going to happen between them still. If there's a new mystery, it would be at the end of the season." How to Get Away With Murder will be back when TGIT returns to ABC's lineup on January 19. (Eonline)
Grey's Anatomy Midseason Finale: Truths Revealed, For Better or Worse. Grey's, you heartless jerk. We had really been rooting for Amelia and Owen. Both of them really needed something good in their lives, and their marriage, however much they rushed into it, really seemed like it just might work. Then, Amelia told Owen she didn't want kids, and Owen took off. He returned in Thursday night's midseason finale, but Amelia made the decision to let him go, with a letter reading, "Don't make this all your fault. I know you. That's what you do, but please, please don't do that." Hopefully they can work through this, but kids is a topic it's pretty important to agree upon in a marriage, so there might not be hope here. In some better or worse news, Jo finally told Alex the truth, like she should have done forever ago. She explained that she's married to an abusive jerk, and that as soon as she testifies, he'll be able to find her. Of course, Alex's solution was to immediately sacrifice himself. He planned to plead guilty before the trial even started, and take the two years in jail, and he was just about to do it until he got a voicemail from Meredith. She had been absolutely livid at his plan, and refused to lose him. As she pointed out, of the original five interns, it was just the two of them left, and she couldn't let it just be her. The episode ended right after Alex listened to Meredith's voicemail, and just as the DA was ready to see him, so we'll have to wait to find out what happened. Do you think Alex will go through with his plan? Are Amelia and Owen done forever? Grey's Anatomy returns Thursday, January 19 at 8 p.m. on ABC. (Eonline)
Before Hairspray made its way to Broadway, where it would go on to win the Tony Award for best musical, the show's leading man left the production. "We went out of town to start doing the show and our Link Larkin got a movie and left us cold," says Marissa Jaret Winokur, who is featured in the current issue of PEOPLE. Winokur, who starred as plus-size optimist Tracy Turnblad in the musical based on the 1988 John Waters film of the same name, says she decided to get involved in the casting process. "Matt Morrison was the hot chorus boy and I kept saying to them, 'Matt Morrison is really hot. He should do it'-only because I thought he was hot," she says of the Glee star. "I didn't know if he was talented or anything. He was just that cute boy with the big curly hair. I said, 'That's my Link.' But the joke is on us. He blew up and is everywhere." Lake chats with Marissa Jaret Winokur, who starred as Tracy in the 2002 Broadway musical, and Maddie Baillio, who plays Tracy in NBC's upcoming Hairspray Live!, in PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive issue, on newsstands Friday Of course, being costars meant making out in eight shows a week. "My boyfriend at the time, who is now my husband, would come visit and I would be, like, 'I like the way Matt kisses better,' " jokes Winokur, who wed TV producer Judah Miller in 2006. Now, Winokur will cameo in NBC's TV event based on the Broadway musical inspired by Waters' 1988 film, Hairspray Live! "I said, 'Even if there's something fun for us to do backstage, I just want to be a part of it,' " she says. Hairspray Live! airs Dec. 7 on NBC. (People)
Ronan Farrow will not support what he calls Dr. Phil's "exploitation of vulnerable people." On Thursday, the son of Mia Farrow and Woody Allen took to Twitter to blast Dr. Phil McGraw, ahead of the talk show host's anticipated interview with actress Shelley Duvall. "Dr. Phil's exploitation of the wonderful Shelley Duvall -- masquerading as 'powerful TV' -- is shameful. She's a treasure. She deserves respect," Farrow tweeted. "Interviewers sometimes must show suffering. It's our ethical responsibility to do so with compassion. Duvall appears to have been shown none," he continued. "When people sell exploitation it lessens all of us. When we fail to protect people at their most vulnerable it hurts all of us." Farrow, 28, isn't the only public figure speaking out against Dr. Phil, 68. Vivian Kubrick, the daughter of Stanley Kubrick, who directed Duvall, 67, in "The Shining," also posted a scathing note on social media, urging people to boycott the interview. "You are putting Shelley Duvall 'on show' while she is suffering from a pitiable state of ill health. Unquestionably, this is purely a form of lurid and exploitive entertainment -- it's appallingly cruel," Kubrick wrote. Duvall, who is suffering from an unnamed mental illness, revealed in the trailer for the upcoming Q&A, airing Friday, she is "very sick" and needs help. (Page Six)
TV Trend Alert: The Word "Canceled" Has Been Canceled. Network chiefs increasingly won't pull the plug on little-watched shows as a new lexicon takes shape ("trimmed," "reduced") for ratings losers. Getting canceled is a television rite of passage that dates back to the early days of the medium. But you're not likely to hear the word often in executive suites these days. As viewership fractures and the bar between success and failure becomes more blurred than ever, broadcast networks have become more gun-shy of outright yanking a show off the air. Hence the rise last season of wishy-washy buzzwords such as "trimmed" or "reduced" as unproduced episodes foretold a slow death for several shows. That trend has continued this season. ABC dud Notorious was reduced from 13 to nine episodes, and on Nov. 8, the network said it would not order more of Hayley Atwell's barely watched Conviction, but it wouldn't be pulled from the schedule (at least not immediately). What's more, ABC is keeping options on the cast -- including network president Channing Dungey's sister, Merrin Dungey -- as the legal drama remains in consideration for next season. Suddenly, ABC dumping remaining episodes of Selfie on Hulu and ABC.com a few years ago doesn't sound so bad.
