It’s time again for Arizona Department of Transportation crews to clean the Interstate 10 tunnel near downtown Phoenix

Friday night drivers should plan for the following closures and restrictions: • Eastbound I-10 will be closed between the I-17 “Stack” interchange and Seventh Street from 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, to  9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5.  Both I-17 ramps connecting to eastbound I-10 will also be closed. Eastbound I-10 drivers will detour on southbound I-17 and can reconnect with eastbound I-10 near Sky Harbor International Airport. Please consider alternate routes. • Northbound I-17 will be closed between Adams Street and McDowell Road from 11:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, to 5 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5. Drivers will detour on the frontage road. • Westbound I-10 will be closed between the I-17 “Split” interchange near Sky Harbor International Airport and Seventh Avenue from 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, to  9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 6. Other closures and restrictions during this timeframe include the southbound State Route 51 ramps to westbound I-10 and the southbound on-ramps at Thomas and McDowell roads. Also, the  I-10 westbound on-ramp at Washington Street will be restricted with access only to northbound SR 51 and eastbound Loop 202. The I-17 southbound ramp to westbound I-10 near Sky Harbor International Airport will also be closed. Westbound I-10 traffic will detour on northbound I-17 and can reconnect with the westbound I-10 at the “Stack” interchange. Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction equipment and personnel. ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but it’s possible that unscheduled closures or restrictions might occur because of weather or other factors.
