Southbound Interstate 19 off ramp at Irvington Road to close in wee hours Thursday
Late night travelers on I-19 in Tucson can expect a two-hour closure of the southbound off-ramp at Irvington Road earlyThursday, Nov. 17.
The southbound off-ramp at Irvington Road (Exit 98) will close at 3 a.m. and reopen at 5 a.m. Thursday. Message boards will alert approaching motorists of the closure.
Alternate exits include Ajo Way (Exit 99) or Valencia Road (Exit 95).
During the closure, the Arizona Department of Transportation will place an overhead sign structure at the ramp as part of the project to replace the traffic interchange at I-19 and State Route 86 (Ajo Way) and make improvements on I-19, including adding a lane to the Irvington Road exit ramp.
Another nighttime closure of the southbound I-19 off-ramp is scheduled from 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 22, until 5 a.m.Wednesday, Nov. 23, to remove temporary concrete barrier.
Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and watch for construction equipment and personnel.
