UPDATE: Construction continues through November 7 at Interstate 10 and Ina Road

Ina Road restrictions continue through Thursday night, Nov. 3, for emergency gas-line work

Westbound Ina Road at Camino de la Cruz continues to be narrowed to one lane through 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, for emergency natural gas line work. Left turns and U-turns at the intersection are restricted until work is complete. The Arizona Department of Transportation suggests drivers watch for utility crews and equipment in this active work zone.

Additional restrictions are scheduled through Monday, Nov. 7 – including narrowing I-10 to one lane in both directions at Orange Grove Road – as the I-10/Ina Road Traffic Interchange project in Marana just north of Tucson continues its first phase of construction.  Work includes building a traffic detour for drivers to use when the Ina Road traffic interchange closes; building temporary construction easements; and major utility work. During this phase, Ina Road remains open. Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution and watch for construction equipment and personnel while the following closures and restrictions are in place:

Interstate 10

  • Expect single and double-lane restrictions on Interstate 10 at Orange Grove Road from 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, to 5 a.m. Monday, Nov.7. This means the interstate will be narrowed to one or two lanes in both directions while work is underway. Drivers should allow extra travel time.
  • Drivers should expected intermittent, 15-minute lane closures in both directions of I-10 at Ina Road from 4 a.m. to noon Sunday, Nov. 6, for overhead utility work. Law enforcement officers will be on site to direct traffic.

Managed by ADOT, this project is funded by the Regional Transportation Authority of Pima County. The voter-approved, $2.1 billion RTA plan will be implemented through 2026. Details about the full plan are available at www.RTAmobility.com.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but it’s possible that unscheduled closures or restrictions might occur because of weather or other factors.
