UPDATE: Construction on State Route 287 (Florence Boulevard) in Pinal County begins Nov. 22

Rain delays project start by one day, paving will resume after holiday weekend

State Route 287 (Florence Boulevard) in Pinal County, east of Interstate 10 in Casa Grande, will have restrictions beginning Tuesday, Nov. 22, for a construction improvement project on a ten-mile stretch of road that extends from I-10 to State Route 87 (Arizona Boulevard) at La Palma Road. The $2.2 million construction includes milling and replacing existing asphalt concrete, applying a double chip seal coat, crack sealing shoulders and replacing pavement markings. The work will occur as follows: SR 287 will be narrowed to one lane in both directions between SR 87 and La Palma Road from 4 a.m. to 5 p.m.Tuesday, Nov. 22. Because of the rain delay, paving work is now scheduled to resume Monday, Nov. 28 from 4 a.m. until 5 p.m. A pilot vehicle will escort drivers through the work zone. Sidewalk restrictions will be in place along SR 287 from Promenade Way to Mission Parkway from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.beginning Monday, Nov. 28 through Friday, Dec. 2, to allow crews to work on the sidewalk ramps. SR 287 will be narrowed to one lane overnight in both directions between I-10 and Hacienda Road from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Thursday night, Dec. 1, through Sunday morning, Dec. 4, for paving. Business access will remain during the work. ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but it’s possible that unscheduled closures or restrictions might occur because of weather or other factors.
